Feel so annoyed that a so called high end company treats their customers with so little regard. They are full of empty promises and excuses whilst riding high stealing the hard earned money of their customers. If we helped ourselves to products from their stores to the value of what we have had stolen from our accounts then we would be prosecuted for shop lifting. They, on the other hand, can just get away with fraudulent transactions against many customers. Where is the justice in all this. Sadly a bitter lesson learnt. Avoid them if you don't wish the same experience as many, many others.

Molton Brown, I would rather wash with molten lava then purchase from you fraudsters. Hiding behind a high end persona,they are nothing more than lying thieves.
I made a purchase in October, after delivery they took 2 additional payments.
Any apology has been meek and insincere. In fact they have tried to blame my bank and rudely insinuated that I need to be patient. After all I have waited 5-7 working days plus 2 more days, had my emails ignored and been fobbed off by some tale of their merchant bank stopped all refunds.
Molten Brown are more pathetic than a molten biscuit in a luke warm cup of tea.
I recommend that this company is avoided. Clearly they are in financial trouble

Order was placed and paid for on 27th October. A week later, Molton Brown decided they'd like to take another payment. On the 3rd November, the company said the refund was being processed that day. Then on 6th November, they advised the refund had actually been processed that day instead, and it would take 5-7 days to receive it.
Today, on day 8, I contacted Molton Brown again to say that the refund hadn't come through.
I have now had an email to say the refund was not released! They seem to be blaming the bank for blocking the payment for fraud suspicions but I find it unbelievable there wouldn't be a process in place to make sure payments are made.
They are now saying it could take up to 48 hours for the refund to be released, and if I want to find out when I get the payment thereafter, I should ask my own bank.
Reading between the lines, it feels like it'll be up to another 7 days after the 48 hour window.
Considering they have absolutely no right to my money and they are in fact holding it illegally, I would think they'd find a much faster method of returning money to the 'small number of clients impacted'.
It's already been two weeks since the money was taken, and it may well be another two before I see a penny of it.
Can't and won't be ordering from Molton Brown online again. Just wish i'd read some reviews first. It seems some people have been charged more than twice, so perhaps I should be considering myself lucky!

I have been triple charged for an order placed at the end of October and despite numerous calls to customer service (what service) and emails from them promising a full refund of the money they have stolen from me within 5-7 working days (why so long?)I have received nothing.
Molton Brown owe me £133.50 that I will now have to pay on my credit card in the run up to Christmas.
Thank goodness most companies don’t operate like these fraudsters.
Avoid the online shop at all costs.
It’s such a shame to be treated like this when I have loved the products for years and annually spend over £1000 with them for gifts etc.

I’ve left 1 star because there isn’t an option for no stars. Made a purchase 27th October and as many others have also had my payment was duplicated. Told by email I would be refunded within 5 -7 working days … still waiting, as it seems is everyone else. Obviously got no intention of paying the money back they have helped themselves to. AVOID!

They said they emailed customers to advise and on 6/11 they had triggered to send the refunds - today is 16/11 and Im still waiting!

I'm one of the "very small number" of customers affected by the Molton Brown triple charge. Today, Thursday November 16 2023, it is the 8th working day since my refunds were issued and surprise surprise the monies have not been returned to my credit card.
Earlier this morning I spent 79 minutes on the phone waiting to speak to Customer Service and when I got through I was told that their payment department had told them that anyone who hadn't received their refund(s) would be getting them by the end of today.
I will check later but I'm not hopeful!

Don’t deserve any stars. I made an order in October. Had it delivered. Then in November they stole from my bank account. Dozens of calls and lots of emails (now on day 13! )
They just lie and lie. There’s no money been refunded. It should’ve been bank transferred straight back. They’ve done this to hundreds of people. They seem quite proud of the fact.
I’m sure if goods were taken from them it would be a different tale. Look at their facebook to see how many people have been affected by this scam.

I see from many other reviewers that they have also been charged multiple times on a purchase
I am in the same situation and have been told the same, that I will get a refund in 5-7 workings days, it's now 8 workings days and 13 since they took my money but no refund
This company has basically stolen from their customers and they seem in no rush to refund the money. They must be holding tens of thousands of pounds illegally. Their customer service team are unsympathetic and leave a lot to be desired.

If true ridiculous amount of time to resolve. I was offered 30% discount with very short timescale but have already instructed bank to not authorise any payments to MB. This is absolutely ridiculous and extremely frustrating.
I have had 3 payments taken only 1 authorised . Today still no refunds. I was told today the refund was back in my account. The service has been horrendous. Like other people offered a gift set. This order was sent out with the order incomplete. I ordered this for someone else and 2 gift sets have been sent and not to me. Yesterday I was declined £20 compensation as you have had 2 gift sets which I haven’t! I have called over 10 times, 10 customer survey reviews. When will someone in head office see how damaging these duplicate payments are causing the company and start to refund us.
I placed quite a large order for someone and since Nov 3rd owed over £300 . I was offered 20% code . No compensation at all.

Last Friday I was over charged by Sainsburys had a payment credited to me on the Monday. Why has Molton brown still not refunded customers 2 weeks later?
Today I was told the money will be in tomorrow close of business 5pm if not contact your bank as they have your money. I said how can each bank be holding all of our monies?
I rang my bank today and told they can’t help until 15 days after the payment was debited.
Absolutely outrageous. I would not give 1 star worst service I have ever received from anyone in customer service.
Repeatedly Charged
I placed an order on the 26th of October and was then subsequently charged 3 times for the same order. Finally received an email on the 6th of November stating refunds have been processed and will be in my account within 5-7 days, as of the 14th of November, nothing! How disgraceful, why should it take so long to still not have refunded me, this could seriously put people in financially difficulty, I’m genuinely appalled. Unlike others I wasn’t offered a discount or any remediation, which is clearly a very poor business decision for a business model that thrives on repeat business, as the products are consumables. Given the brands demographics, their dreadful service is rather surprising, the exclusive shower gel company that makes customers stollen funds elusive!

Charged twice 11 days ago. Still no refund. Why does it take so long? They are quick enough to take your money. Completely taken the shine out of their products. Very disappointing and amazingly bad customer care.

I would give them zero stars if I could day 12 and still waiting for funds that they took twice from my account surely this is illegal. What a joke and insult to offer 30% discount, I only placed a large order because of their 25% off promotion so in my eyes feel like they are only offering 5% as good will. I complained and they’ve offered my a hand gift set. So I suggest anyone else on here does the same. Still don’t think it’s good enough though. Lots of furious people on here. I’m instructing my bank tomorrow to investigate a fraudulent transaction.

Why bother?
So let me have a rant about my experience with Molton Brown. I wanted to order a gift online for my mum for her birthday, she loves molton brown, it’s high end in my opinion, they probably have nice standards when ordering and shipping. what could go wrong? God how naive I am… I tried to write a review of my experience on the molton brown website, but the company seemed to get hurt and rejected my review when I was appalled by how badly packaged my order arrived to me, and stated in my review that a certain other company who is known for not being the greatest could have packaged it way better. In all fairness the generic email did say it could be rectified if I get in touch with customer support and I just laughed, because I’m tired of talking to robots who just copy and paste the generic stuff to hopefully get customers off their case. There was no protection what so ever with the product I bought and consequently had leaked everywhere because they decided it would be a good idea to, box it up in a box that’s three times the size of their shower gel bottles, stick a piece of paper over the top to make it “look” like they gave a toss before they sent it out. Considering this is Molton Brown and you pay the earth for this stuff I kind of expected WAY better packaging, I think even my boyfriends baby sister could do a better job. Then they emailed me to say their system threw a tantrum and started randomly “taking” out duplicated total money from orders and I was one of the UNLUCKY ones to have had the misfortune of being affected. (Not a great first impression since this is my first and LAST order). So their system took it out of my account AGAIN, as if I’m some kind of billionaire who can afford to just kiss my money goodbye, and I am now sitting in the minus because of this technological bafoonary. They then did the funnies on me and tried to get me to order again with a dismal 30% off. Don’t really care about that though, just want my money back really, you could offer me all the freebies under the sun, my money’s still out there though isn’t it? Overall I don’t rate them at all, and I shall be getting authorities involved if I can’t get customer service to help me if I don’t receive my refund, because this is probably borderline fraud. By the sounds of it from others I know, if I don’t get a refund back and I do contact customer service and they give me the cold shoulder, I’ll just have to copy and paste my generic robot email until their generic robot emails can no longer put up with my constant right to know where and when I will get my money back :)
