The gates took 6 weeks to arrive when the estimated delivery time was just 1 week. We kept being promised delivery next week as there was an issue in production. I had a client waiting the whole time, which put me in a very difficult and embarrassing position.

When the gates finally arrived, they were so badly twisted that under normal circumstances I would have refused to fit them. However, because my customer had already been kept waiting for so long, I had no choice but to install them.

The quality of the gates is extremely poor, and the whole experience was very disappointing. I would not recommend this company based on the delays, poor communication, and unacceptable product quality.

We were promised 10% refund when the gates finally arrived but so far no refund.

I ordered a double set of driveway gates as they advertised next day delivery, to say I was disappointed with the delivery time was an understatement. It took nearly two months to finally get my gates, bearing in mind the money was taken from my account nearly two months previose. I had to send several emails requesting a delivery date. The emails we're answered quickly but not really to my time frame. The gates were delivered wrapped in plastic on unwrapping them it was very obvious the quality of the workmanship was very poor, areas of the gates had not been nailed with several of the T&G boards dropping out, timbers fitted with just one nail causing the gates to twist, but the worst being they were not a matching pair each gate had been constructed differently. I contacted customer support and was given a 20% refund and fixed the errors on the gates myself, this is why I have given two stars instead of one as the costomer services were quick at getting back and also giving me a 20% refund. On saying that I do not think I should have paid anything due to the such poor workmanship. I had intended purchasing a further two matching garden gates but obviously re thought this and would never purchase a set of gates from MD Carpentry services again.

It took a while to be delivered once ordered approximately 14 days . Once I looked at the gate looked good however looked closer and one of the vertical boards in the gate was out of line which left a gap so you can look through. Timber was good

I haven’t received my gates! I ordered them weeks ago and still no delivery, I did have a spoof delivery but still nothing!?!

Communication is poor - delays to delivery (still waiting having placed an order over 1 month ago) Disappointing so far - can’t comment on the quality as not received it yet!

"Wrought iron detail". Erm, no. The bars are PVC!!!

As seems standard now I've found these reviews I ordered a product with an estimated delivery time of 10-12 days - 14 days later I received an email suggesting they had been sent but no further information in the 8 days afterwards.
Phone calls go unanswered and I'm left wondering when I might actually recieve the item I ordered.

It's been 18 days since ordering and I still haven't received the gate. I chased MD carpentry 2 days ago and have yet to receive an update from them.

Never again , after 1 month I'm still waiting for my product. Do not use them

After waiting for 7 weeks for the gate I ordered, the wrong one finally arrived. I had contacted Mr Martin Dooley a couple of times to chase my order only to get a flippant response and zero information. When I contacted him again to say the wrong item had arrived, again a flippant response. The gate im now stuck with isn't even good quality, in fact it's very poor. My woodwork at school in the 1970s was far superior. Awful company. Awful people

Good quality product and resent hinges etc when parcel people lost the items.

Amazing service, able to send specific measurements and gate was made to order. Great quality, quick delivery, would 100% recommend and use again. Thank you so much

Bought through B&Q marketplace, priced at about £300
Ordered on 10th of May
Delivered, after a fair bit of pestering on my part, 30th June.
Finish is shoddy with lots of splintered ends where the wood has been cut.
Wood that provides an infill to the frame, is full of knot holes.
Illustration showed a bottom rail, which was missing on the delivered gates.
Getting the gates fitted has now become time sensitive, so sending them back is going to create a whole new set of problems.
Overall it's just been a disappointing and frustrating experience.

Received gate which is just what we were looking for; excellent quality. Would definitely recommend, communication excellent. Delivery excellent, delivered within 2 weeks and was kept updated on the day of delivery what time it would arrive.

Very mixed feelings about this company and I will be very honest.

Ordered garden gate knowing full well, there was a lead time of 10 working days. However the actual time taken to despatch the gate was more than double that time.

That said, communication was good but via email only and Irene would often respond quite quickly. However if you do try to call, the voice box was full and there was no way of leaving a voice message when they are busy

To be fair, I was offered a partial refund for the inconvenience which was increased due to some slight damage to the gate when it eventually arrived.

It arrived one week after being despatched - this was the fault of the distribution company SGK, not MD Carpentry but MD could well do with reviewing this delivery service as well as how much work MD take on which leads to delays in lead times and grumpy customers.

On the whole, it was an alright job based mainly on me keeping my cool

Placed order for a gate, a month later I chased as no delivery, MD appologised offered a 10% discount and stated it would be prioritised. Gate arrived, it claimed craftsman finish, it wasn't. I have complained but no reply, the discount had to be chased apparently they take a month to do this on top of the month delivery. Would I use them again, no, lots of better offers out there.

Replying to MD carpentry saying they update and refund accordingly. No you did not. Nobody can even get through on the phone number as your messaging service is full !
Exactly the same with your email. I have proof if you want to dispute it - both the email rejection and voice recording of your answering service. The refund was actioned because I reported this to my bank not because you were forthcoming with it. Do better
