This electrician named as Jesse Gatt from Stokers Siding in NSW 2484 and his business known and advertised as "Local Electrical" in Facebook and Instagram charged $4400 cash including a generator later seen advertised at $1049 for a changeover switch for generator power. His business and contact details were located through Facebook and later discovered also in Instagram advertising. My partner was too trustful and simply paid cash to this electrician thinking it was the normal thing. A random search of Mr Gatt’s Facebook posts regarding his average installation cost of between $700 & $900 was randomly located in one photo in his facebook advertising posts several days later. There are no other quotes located in any other of Mr Gatt's advertising at all. My partner days later questioned Mr Gatt about his excessive overcharging and received a response that materials were expensive nowadays when he was asked to return the overpaid amount. His response was also to threaten police involvement if my partner continued to harass his ethics by messages. He then blocked our Facebook account and deleted all the posts made to his company posts. Definitely the actions of a truthful electrician I'd guess not! He has now also been exposed as an alleged liar and thief to Localsearch reviews as well and other review sites will follow the same allegations in due course. Should anyone require electrical work to be done on their homes or businesses, this is one electrician and business you should steer well clear of!

I refer to a company listed as "Local Electrical" with one principal with the initials of J & G working out of the Tweed Heads NSW location. I will refain from naming this elecrician due to possible litigation issues. If this is not the right company the owner can please also advise and I will remove this blog from this site. 28.5.25 this electrician was employed to complete a black out protection system so a generator could be plugged into the main switchboard to allow the household to run basic power internally. I failed to follow up on this company's internet quote ($1500 is very close) and after the work was completed this electrician asked if I had read the quote. I replied "no" thinking he had sent me a quote via email. He then quoted me $4400 which included a generator which I later saw said generator advertised at $1049. He then had a noise suppression box constructed and asked a further $600 for it. I said then it was a rip off amount and he accepted $200. Says a lot. That was the trigger to later check the actual price of the work paid out being $1850 above the company internet quote as that cost was entirely excessive given what it was. I have since contacted and questioned this electrician with the initials J & G and asked about these excessive charges and was simply advised that cost of materials was expensive nowadays. Materials don't cost an extra $1850. Given the average rate per hour for an electrical is approx $150, for the 6 hours work, the labour cost should have been under $1000. That makes the total materials cost, other than the generator, in the order of $2350. Should you require your house to be able to maintain it's power with generator power during storms and blackout experiences, please do not fall into the trap I fell into and require a written quote instead of personal negotiation. There are many adds ranging from $985 to $2500 for this service work. And buy your own generator. From my experiences this practice of not obtaining a written quote is obviously fraught with false pretence danger and this company seems to be rife with it and this practice is simply poor work ethics. From the advice I have received from a retired friend in the electrical game, the overcharged amount would appear to be around $2000 minimum of the actual $4400 charged and paid, not including the noise suppression box.
