Disappointed
I tried to save 20 dollars and purchased the product online. They have product in store but they can't sell me those I have to wait for my chlorine tablets to get shipped to store. Makes no sense to me but I guess to them it does. I asked for a refund and they said they couldn't give me one til my order was shipped out. The ladies in customer service where actually very nice. The policy the have for simple online orders is crazy. They lost my business to much of a headache
took my pool pump for repair on…

Absolutely the WORST corporate customer…
Absolutely the WORST corporate customer service, I have ever experienced in my 50 years. No exaggeration: 10 emails sent in 10 days - No replies. 5 different reps state they'll follow-up via phone/get back with me - Never happens. Corporate doesn't care. Leslie's, you are NOT Amazon. At this rate, you are done within 10 years.
Rules for Service Need to be Defined
I recently purchased a new Hayward Tristar 950VS from a pool company other than Leslie's because it was $300.00 cheaper. I went into the Leslie's website to make arrangements for the pool pump replacement and subsequently called the (800) 537-5437 to make the arrangements. I answered all of the questions and scheduled an appointment. I received a call from a company representative the day before the install was to take place with additional questions. This person stated now that they would not perform the install because the pump was not purchased at Leslie's. No where on their site for service does it stipulate that as a prerequisite for service equipment must be purchased through them. You would think that being a customer of theirs who is constantly purchasing their overpriced offerings would be enough, but apparently not.
I am a Leslie’s employee so my review…
I am a Leslie’s employee so my review is after seeing the company from inside and outside. The company has a split personality. The retail stores which generally speaking are manned with wonderful individuals that like to help and corporate.com people that are experts at putting walls up and giving you run around with poor expertise and trained to drive costs up. Good luck getting past customer service if you have a complaint. Eventually someone will call you back after getting your complaint armed with policies and procedures that even I as an employee am not aware of designed to milk you and run the tab up. I recently purchased a 400 k Pentaire gas pool heater supposedly with free installation only to have the unit deliver uncoordinated and delivered while we are out of town and just dropped off in an unsecured place a $4,000 unit. Then I received an e mail assuring me that it would not be delivered for two more days after my return. See the e mail exchange as supporting documents below. That was the beginning of the nightmare that was followed by uncertified technician sent for sight assessment, and throwing at me refusal of installation unless I agreed to installations that are policy. Mind you I am replacing an existing Pentaire 400 k gas heater with an identical one because the one I had (not installed by Leslie’s originally) served me well for 9 years. So even after agreeing to the additional charges (I signed the quote under protest and marked it so) I got the run around whenever I called the customer service and the lies from the uncertified technician went on unsubstantiated with everybody feeding of each other’s lies to the point I decided to pay for installation and have a different certified contractor do the installation. Here is the exchange of e mail on the delivery.
Hello Manoug,
I hope your travels are going well! Thank you for reaching out to Leslie's.
I dont want to have to worry about the delivery of your heater. It is not due to arrive until February 19. You will be home by then. I will keep my eyes on the tracking. They will contact you to make the delivery appointment.
Should you need to follow up, please reply back with case 04687633.
Thank you for choosing Leslie's, have a great day!

Thank you Margaret but it got delivered today 1:40 our time. Fortunately we are on our way back and we will be home around 5:30. We did not get a phone call from the driver and he was uncooperative with the neighbors to put it near the other heater.

Purchased a new Pentair Pool Heater from Lesli Pools
Purchased a new Pentair Pool Heater for a new home pool and when we installed, it did not come on at all. no display on controller or anything. Lesli will not send a new unit or tech out to fix it or even let us send back for a refund. They will not take ownership of the problem as we purchased new from them. We've been dealing with Lesli pools who sold us the heater and they will not fix the problem either as we are out of service area. Very disappointing and frustrating.
Trying to get the pool pump motor…
Trying to get the pool pump motor repaired/replaced at the Palm Coast store. It was a mess. They couldn't figure out if they had or could get the part needed. Then They couldn't figure out how to have me prepay until they spoke to a manager who was never at the store. The National customer service was also a waste as they didn't ever do what they said they would do (follow up with the store, give me some feedback on what to do).
The part was replaced two weeks later by their technician but he didn't actually check to see that the pool was functioning correctly. Eventhough, I asked him over the phone if I was good and he told me it was all set. It wasn't.

Leslie’s return policy at bottom
I just purchased a Aiper seagull pro and unboxed it today. I have a 10,000 gallon pool. In inground and the walls are not a smooth surface. In other words there’s grip to the walls I do, however, have like most pools that have been built since 1970 curved walls. When I was looking at cordless pool, cleaners, there was nothing that was said about this device having trouble climbing a wall that has a curve bottom. Matter fact in the advertisement of this particular item from the companies that makes it it shows a pool with many rounded corners. It’s not rectangular. It’s certainly not flat with with 90° angle walls I haven’t seen a pool like that in many many many years. So I charged the device and following the instructions I take it to the pool and I turned it onto auto mode which it’s supposed to very methodically travel the bottom of the pool covering everything in straight lines and then after it had reached 50% power, it would climb the walls very methodically. And watching the device in the pool, the first thing that I noticed was that it tended to go around in circles it would do short runs never a straight line for very long and then it would turn and turn, and it didn’t have any kind of designed way of moving in the pool it’s very random and very , strange. The device also when it does move forward it the front end of it lifts up off the bottom of the pool like there’s no suction at all that just the the the thrust from the motors pushing it forward lift the front end up off the pool floor, which makes it impossible to clean anything and it stops. It won’t go 4 feet in One Direction on the bottom of the pool at all now my pool is like any other pool that’s been made since before 1970 and it gets deeper so the floor of the pool , you know sweeps down like most fools and everything around it just clearly is a problem for this device and nowhere did the company state that the device would have a problem with a normal shaped pool that we see built every day nowadays is not kidney shaped just got some other angles to it but most pools that I’ve seen that again weren’t built You know after 1970 they don’t have flat bottoms you know very strange. So enclosing I have to say that the product is grossly misrepresented. It doesn’t have the kind of power that it suggested it does. It doesn’t seem to cover the pool in the way that they advertise that it does which is supposed to be some new technology doesn’t work at all very well. It will go over simple leaves on the bottom of the pool and , it won’t draw them up into the unit. I see no problem with it. The rollers are fine. Everything‘s good. The wheels work there is nothing outwardly wrong with this device and again it came right out of the box. My suggestion would be to consider not purchasing this item, it is also Advertised as an inground pool cleaner, but in looking at some of the online information later on, I found it most of the stuff that I was seeing suggested it was for above ground pool, so I’m not quite sure exactly what that means but it is advertised for inground pools. I’ve seen some reviews by professional reviewers who is given it stellar reviews, and I’m not really sure what was wrong with those people, but they clearly weren’t giving a legitimate review of this device , so I will have no choice but to return this item and try to find another more functional more honestly described and and and hope that I can get a cleaner that will actually do what it’s advertised to do.
Companies response:
This is AI response from Aiper customer support.
I understand your disappointment with the performance of your new Seagull Pro pool cleaner. To resolve the issue, please follow these steps:
Ensure the pool bottom is flat and smooth to prevent the device from struggling to reach the waterline.
Clean the filters and water spray pump to prevent potential filter jam and device malfunction.
Check for any entangled foreign objects around the front roller brush or wheel that may be causing the device to move in circles.
If the pool has a steep slope or the material is too smooth, it may affect the device's performance.
Best regards,
Aiper Customer Support

Sorry customer service for salt system
Was offered a warranty for my salt cell system call the company and one of the specialist told me one thing where the district manager told me something else wouldn't return calls wouldn't return emails took him 3 weeks to finally get a complete answer the worst customer service I've ever dealt with in my life
Leslie's "PRO" store anything but!!!
Went to Leslie's "PRO" store. Set my broken impeller and seal, which were purchased from Leslie's, on the counter and the assistant says "What is that?". I said it is an impeller and seal from a Hayward pool pump. He asked me "What size?" to which I said a 1.5HP. He said "What voltage?" and I said 240V. He said we only have 210V and 1000V. At this point I knew there was an issue. He then went to the isle where the impellers were and asked "What brand?" I told him Hayward. He said "I don't think we have that one." I walked over to the isle and found the correct impeller and brought it to the counter. He told me "I can't help you. You'll have to wait until my other person comes in at 9:00." I left very frustrated. Won't be going back!
Original service call took 15 minutes
Original service call took 15 minutes, they sent 2 men, charge $220.00, it didn't fix the problem(pump wouldn't catch) Service call # 11461512, second service call( a leaky o-ring took 2 minutes, he was gonna charge me for the call, he said they don't have a warranty. I politely ask them to leave
purchased a Raypak Protege Above Ground…
purchased a Raypak Protege Above Ground Pool Pump, 1.5 HP and was told to sign up for the pool perks to get an extra 5 year warranty, after 2 years the pump has failed and of course my pump is not part of the extended warranty plan. I wish I would have bought from Amazon, cheaper and less hassle.
The worst company ever
The worst company ever! Don’t ever use this company. I order a spa cover. It took six months for delivery and it was the wrong size. I called and they refused to accept it was their error and finally after showing my order sheet they agreed and sent me another one. And yes, it was the wrong size again. This company sucks on all levels. Go direct to the spa manufacturer for a spa cover. Terrible quality as well. DONT DO IT EVEN IF YOU THINK YOU WILL SAVE MONEY - you will not in the end. I promise you.
Purchased the JVX160 pool pump less…
Purchased the JVX160 pool pump less than 5 years ago and I have had issues every since (VERY BAD DECISION). on 3/5/2024 contacted Leslie's to have a service person come out to repair the pump again because it is leaking and had to turn the pump off. The sent out Eric, who looked at the pump and said the seal (part# 40678) needed to be replaced and it was NOT under warranty. He needed to order the part, ok rescheduled for 3/12, got a call from dispatcher stating that Eric was hurt and that they would have to re-schedule another time/day and another technician. Keep in mind, our pool has not been running due to the leak. Finally got a date/time of 3/15 they sent out Ivan who does NOT have any clue what is going on with the pool and says that NOW the pump needs a propeller (part#677742) and we can order it on Amazon and when it is in we can scheduled for someone to install it. My STRONG advise, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER purchase, go to, or request ANYTHING from Leslie's Pool. You get bad equipment, faulty warranty and just plan out BAD service!!!!!
Bought Air Relief Valve ECX1322A (Item…
Bought Air Relief Valve ECX1322A (Item 44007) for $12.49 + tax. This is a little plastic screw on top of the filter case to bleed the air after cleaning the cartridge. Probably it’s worth $0.30 to $ 0.50. Our filter is from 2005, the first time we had to replace this bleed screw was in 2018, it was made of Nylon, unbreakable. Since then we had to replace it 5 times, it looks like they switched to cheap plastic, the last screw lasted about a month. I took it back to the store in Apache Junction and the rude answer of the clerk was “there is no warranty on this part”. This was the last time I ever bought anything from Leslie’s, hopefully they get out of business, I never see any customers in this store.
Since they don’t offer the nylon screw anymore and expect customers to buy a new one every month or two, we went to Ace Hardware and bought a stainless steel screw for $2.75 (3/8“ x 16) it does it’s job.
Disappointed and dismayed in Duncanville.
Called Leslie's to come out and address a flow issue with my pool. The pump took a dump. impeller shot.
The tech replaced constant speed 2HP with a variable speed 1.65 HP pump. Told us what a great pump this was how very reliable it is and how it would save us so much money. Pump at low speed does not move enough water to keep pool clean. Tech left pool in service mode and told us that it had to stay there to run all the time. Controls do not work in service mode. Pump was leaking after install as well. When called to come out to address these issues that same day they told us that another service call charge would have to be billed at $175. We could not believe this. Called them back again and they told us if it was not a pump issue we would be billed. We have videos of the leaking pump. Once they came back out and verified that it was in fact the pump, they then told us that they have been having all kinds of issues with that pump and that we now have to call the pump manufacturer to come out and repair or replace that great pump they bragged was so good and sold us less than 30 days ago. The customer service and support in this case is terrible at best. We can't believe that they won't repair or replace this leaking pump. We will likely never shop at or use Leslie's again and highly recommend that you take this as a warning unless you like being misled and wasting time and money.
Leslies bought out Texson Pool Company
Leslies bought out Texson Pool Company.
My experience has been total disaster.
Main Pump went out in 02/23. Tech said they didn't have a standard pump and installed a Jacuzzied piece of junk. They programed it wrong. The instructions for the pump is clear as mud. Don't even tell how to adjust the time clock which was programed 4 hours off. It is July and can't get the chemicals adjusted. My pool is unusable. I've called numerous times. The latest was 7/21/23. the tech I spoke with said he would come out that afternoon and evaluate the problems, Changed his story. There was an appointment made for 7/22, no one showed up.
Their company is very unprofessional and can't speak with management personnel. The people you talk with lie. Refer you to another Ph. # and they hang up on you. Now, they 've changed their name but still has the same logo. This is just the tip of the ice burg of the problems I've had with them.
Leslies isn't what is used to be
On July 8 I took my pool water to Leslie's Dundalk location to have it tested. I told the cashier the pool was green. I was told I needed hardness plus and shock. I purchased a container of hardness plus and four bags of power powder plus. I asked the young lady if I needed green to clean as that was what was told to me once before when I had a green pool and she said no the hardness plus will bring up the PH and correct other elements just put the hardness plus in and then shock (whatever the time frame was). I put the chemicals in, then I called the Bel Air Road store and explained to the young man my concern about the water test. He pulled up my account and entered that the water was green and told me the green to clean treatment plan.
I spoke with Michael, explained the issue to him and he said that I could go to the store in Dundalk and get the green to clean and because Leslies gave me the wrong treatment plan on 7/8 that they would comp the green to clean for me. He would tell his Dundalk employees. I encountered Jay at the store and when I asked Jay a question, he got upset and said that i went to another store for a test and that I guess I think he should give me all the chemicals free and started tapping on the keyboard of the register and said here here take everything free take it all. All of this in front of several other customers. I tried to tell Jay that i called the other leslie's location to discuss my test because I was concerned that I wasn't given the right chemicals the first time and Jay continued to banter back and forth with me in front of other customers and was very rude. I called Michael again and he was kind enough to refund me for any purchases that I made that week. He also directed me to add chemicals which I did and still no change in my pool water. Saturday michael directed me to go to the White Marsh store. I spoke with Kimberly she gave me instrucstions to put soda ash and shock in the pool and said i was at a chlorine lock and this would suffice. Today is Monday and still no change in my pool water. I've texted Michael today and received no response. I'm furious with Leslie's and you cannot find anyone to clean pools anymore so this puts me in a predicament of emptyping, cleaning and refilling my pool
