L&G were appointed as surveyors to a BTL property, just expected the tenant to fit in around an appointment that they made , advised them to call before liasing with the tenant, which they didn't consequently tenant assumed I was selling the property which ( I wasn't) . Sacked them an appointed a more human faced and emphatic company!

We discovered that our mum had taken out an lifetime mortgage with this company. She passed in January 2026 and, since then, this firm have been a nightmare to deal with. My dealings with them have been so bad I had to ask the solicitor to deal direct with them.
Company has no empathy whatsoever, just chasing repayment of the mortgage which will be paid as soon as the house is sold but do wish they would show a bit more care and consideration regarding situations like this.

Would not recommend- obstacles at every turn - they have made me ill

What exactly have I been paying for since 2014? Because it certainly wasn’t efficiency, competence, or basic organisational skills.

Waited over a week for an engineer. Lost an entire day sitting indoors waiting. Engineer finally turns up only to say he “can’t work on Logik machines” and another engineer has to be booked.

Genuinely impressive that nobody thought to check the brand of the washing machine BEFORE sending him.

So now I get to wait another 10 days for Round Two of Britain’s Least Efficient Home Repair Service.

At this stage my washing machine has had fewer breakdowns than the repair process itself.

If this is what “insurance cover” looks like, I’d probably have had faster service shouting into the garden and hoping a random neighbour turned up with a screwdriver.

A complete waste of money dressed up as customer service.

Do Not Take Out a Policy with this company. They will do anything to move the goalposts. Took out income protection to protect me from being off work. After 14 months of paying I found myself unable to attend work due to workplace conditions bullying aggressive management. I sent in all the paperwork needed and was then called to say could I have worked for another company and not have been off with the same anxiety . I don’t work for another company so how would I know , if I did how would I know? I have asked for a manager to call me and read through my whole contract to me step by step which I am waiting for and also cancelled my direct debit with immediate effect. I was told we can not tell you everything over the phone. I was generally I’ll thankfully feeling ok now but will continue posting on different forums until sorted but please DO NOT FALL FOR LEGAL AND GENERAL LIES.

Oh the irony. ‘Find a company you can trust…’
Well if you have a brain and value your quality of life, and concern for your pension savings then I would avoid this company to ‘manage’ your pension or investments.
I have rarely, if ever, had dealings with a company showing such a level of ‘institutional incompetence’. Just think about that for a moment: a financial services company that, in my opinion, is ‘institutionally incompetent’ .
A financial services company where the transfer of funds and protecting your money is part of its raison d’etre, but where it can’t transfer your funds because there is a problem with its payment system - which apparently only affects one account - my account. Where, at the time of writing, it has already taken more than a week and there is still no resolution in sight; no Plan B. No Plan B to release and transfer your funds. Have you heard of CHAPS and BACS payments. No Plan B.
Where the staff appear to have no idea what they are doing. Where the senior colleagues are happy to leave it to the inexperienced colleagues to deal with the flak and fall-out.
Whilst I deal with ever increasing stress levels over my pension funds. Now more than one month since the account made the last payment, how much longer can I rely on my ever dwindling savings to meet my ever increasing bills.
And all the time there is Snr Antonio and his ‘senior team’ enjoying time away from the office grinning like Cheshire cats to work on business plans etc…
How about working on getting the basics right; you know, looking after your customers (yes those irritating people who provide your business with funds and help your bottom line); and being able to make funds transfers - or having a Plan B rather than leaving it to your junior colleagues to take the flak. They don’t get paid for the hassle, but you do.
Perhaps, you’ll be more comfortable dealing with your regulators - the FCA and/or the PRA. I can guarantee you one thing: you’ll be dealing with the Financial Ombudsman Service with regard to my complaint and the resulting cost for bringing the complaint.
As I’ve said, in my opinion, Institutional Incompetence. Zero stars Snr Antonio!

This company are a bunch of thieves, I was forced into a pension I wasn't aware I was paying until I realised and stopped it out of my wages. Trying to get my money back is virtually impossible. I don't work anymore due to cancer, a brain tumour and several other serious health issues. They want me to get my gp to fill in a form to declare I have these health issues this is at a cost of £45 (basically half of what they have of mine) which will have to come out of my pocket. They are theives they've sent me the wrong form for my gp which is for terminal illness only NOT just serious illness so I can't even go to my gp as I'm not terminally ill. I should have the right to get my money back I didn't agree this company steal out of my wages without my permission!

To the company Legal and General a Critical illness cover should not be a hurdle that a customer has to climb. The customer should be supported with clear guidelines from the start of what medical records are needed to support their case. Secondly, GP dont write records for free, so pay them when they send their invoices or if you cant pay them, then instruct the client to pay them. GPs are also very busy, if you ask them to fill in a questionnaire once, dont keep repeating your request because they have not written it in a manner that you wish, they of course get annoyed and the client suffers. You should not base your decision on the evidence of a single professional who has spent in my case 15 minutes over 6 years with a client, whether he is aspecailist or not, 15 minutes should not take precedent over a GP that has been with the client for over 20 years. The NHS is over burden with demands so for your assesments why not pay a private hospital to carry out all the medical investigations required in a timely manner, this lengthy process allows medical conditions to get worse and misunderstood, it is also very stressfull, this is to be avoided especially when someone is ill. This leaves you exhausted and worse off than you were at the start. The client cannot tell the professionals what to write so when there is a difference in statements give the client a voice. Medical staff can make wrong assumptions they are human after all. Finally dont be insulting when giving a cimpensation, after many years of sufferring and many different communication with a range of case managers, a situation that should have taken a reasonanable amount of time when into a life sentence. People take out these policies for risks they are not aware of at the time, they dont take them out to become better off only to protect their standard of living in any eventuality that they are no longer able to carry out their occupation.
