Buying & selling a property:

Overall, I had a good experience with Lawcomm. The communication was frequent and on point. The only hitch was frequent delays from the buyers solicitors. However, Lawcomm, in particular, a lady by the name of Zahrah, was very helpful indeed.

From start to finish Zahra was sufficient and professional. The whole procedure was smooth going and updated each stop of the way . Would highly recommend Zahra’s service to anyone. Also the cost of the services were by far the cheapest I got quoted and really can’t say a bad word about Lawcomm. Thank you for getting me into my first home.

Zahra Khan dealt with the conveyance of our late parents property, apart from confusion with the 365 verification, everything worked well, and the price we were quoted at the beginning of the process was the price we paid.

My review has brought some response from Lawcomm. On the 29th Jan inst. I received a request to remove my review while they review my complaint.

Poor experience from start to finish. Straightforward house purchase, required constant chasing, often don’t return calls and they didn’t make a relatively easy conveyancing case easy to understand. I feel conveyancing solicitors have a duty to make sure clients are kept informed and ensure the legal jargon is made easy to understand. Unfortunately I had no faith the individual solicitor dealing with my purchase was competent in her job. It took 18 months from moving into property to when to received confirmation the property had been registered in my name by the land registry. I have nothing positive to say about my experience:

Saira was absolutely amazing, effective and efficient. Got the long items of enquiries done ahead of time and kept on top of every detail. Very communicative and always on hand to answer any questions but also making sure if there was anything I could do, I could help speed things along.

I have found Natalie Chan to have been helpful, informative and supportive through our sales experience. She responded promptly and answered any questions I had.

Syed made the conveyancing process seamless from start to finish. He was always prompt in responding to my questions and communicated clearly and considerately with everyone involved. I would have no hesitation in using this firm again and would specifically request Syed.

Professional Support and Efficiency
Smooth Transaction: The transaction proceeded very smoothly, with Khiah providing consistent advice and support at every stage, successfully navigating "a few bumps in the journey."
Crisis Management: Lawcomm demonstrated "utmost professionalism" and provided essential support during a "very stressful process" when a last-minute issue arose regarding the seller's deposit requirement before exchange. Khiah's work "took the stress out of the situation," especially following a difficult divorce and lots of bumps from the seller.

Recommendation:

I absolutely recommend Lawcomm. The costing was clearly explained, and the entire service was quick - I knew where I was - completely compliant and trustworthy. A sincere thank you to Khiah for her exceptional work.

This firm turned what should have been a simple sale into a long and painful endurance test. Every time we answered their questions, the same ones resurfaced weeks later as if the previous replies had dissolved into thin air.

Communication was almost impossible. Calls rang out or went to voicemail, emails went unanswered, and when someone did reply it was usually a single blunt sentence that clarified nothing. It felt like trying to complete a sale with a brick wall.

The most unbelievable moment came when the buyers lender told us they had not received documents that this firm told our solicitor had been sent. That seemed to sum up the entire experience.

Ten months of delays cost us extra valuations, extra fees, and eventually the entire buyer. We have never seen a transaction handled with such little urgency or care.

In my opinion this firm operates in a way that leaves customers stranded and frustrated. It has been genuinely astonishing how slow and chaotic the process has been.

Zahra was efficient and straight to the point. At times it was stressful but the job got done and we now have our first home despite others in the chain failing the timescales and delaying the exchange of contracts. Thank you Zahra.

We have had a mostly bad experience with Lawcomm for our house conveyancing. If Lawcomm want to publicly respond, our case number is 693395.
Initially all went well, the lady dealing with our case, Ellen Cooper was prompt at responding to requests and let us know what was happening via email and in their good on-line system. Unfortunately she left the company and our next contact was the total opposite. He was very slow at responding and rarely did anything when he said he would. Also, he rarely used the on-line system, so is and his colleagues didn't know what was happening. After many weeks of frustration and second chances, I asked to have another solicitor. Trish Gibson was much more efficient and we had good service until completion. However this was in July 2024 and we still don't have our title documentation. I have asked for the name of the person dealing with our case, but no response. No response either for an urgent request for feedback. We were initially told that the delay was due to the land registry, but I don't believe they have a year delay. I will never use this company again and I don't recommend that anyone else uses them for conveyancing either.
