Aldermasten has just been taken over by Hilliers and I took my daughter for lunch today I always have the prawn cocktail and was glad they still do it but for £9 I had hardly any prawns it was so disappointing!! Won’t be going back which is a shame as been going there for years

I ordered a pizza oven online as a gift. I have been patiently waiting for it to arrive only to discover the order has been cancelled.

Fine, the money has been refunded but I now have basically zero time to get a replacement gift. I won't be using this company for anything more going forward.

Today Friday 3rdFebruary I visited the Cafe at Eastbourne. It was lunchtime and the whole place was really very busy. All spaces in car park were full 😳
I ordered soup which was Potato and Leek served with a brown roll. The soup was more leek and not much sign or taste of potato. The roll was stale, at least 2 days old and not warmed up. I could not eat more that a few mouthfuls. The sandwich, very full of the cheese, ham and cranberry sauce, my friend had was okay other than the bread which was so thick that they could not eat that. I noticed that many plates had lots of bread abandoned. Perhaps they should start using medium sliced bread as it was so wasteful to see. Not a good visit.
Please do give feedback good or bad. This is needed to improve things. Service was very slow and staff very sullen. Tables full of empty dishes not bring cleared. Had to wait 15minutes for the soup and sandwich. I did ring but no apology given nor some sort of compensation either. Did not ask for my address or phone number either.

Went for breakfast with half price vouchers. The deadline was 11am. We got there around 10.45. However, they told us they had stopped serving. I saw manager and complained. He was very kind and let us go through. Lovely, lovely man serving coffees who was very apologetic. Thank you Hilliers.

Went to Hillier GC at Eastbourne for coffee and breakfast today, the usual staff not there as had been relegated to another task and we were back to the old ways of tepid coffee.
The staff there are great but some better at hot drinks than others.
Then the coffee replaced with latte instead of filter coffee until we finally received the correct order hot and very tasty!

I’ve been after cod roe for few weeks now , rang wednesdsy and they had some come in so went down Friday to get some, it’s a very short season and as my dad loves it wanted to get some in.I have to say I can’t fault Harry the fishmonger in all the times I’ve rang and asked about availability he’s always always been very helpful and polite, and so helpful today when came to get some Roe , Harry and the other chap on fish counter sorry didn’t t get his name first class Service from both . A credit to hillers

Went to the restaurant at Cheddar Garden Centre with a friend today. Ordered a bacon sandwich - it being breakfast time. Could not believe the cost 7.99 for a sandwich, more expensive than an actual breakfast. I queried the cost with the till operator and was told there was no facility to charge for a sandwich so she had to charge me the price of a breakfast baguette. I was amazed. The operator didn't even go to check with her manager. She had a couldn't care less attitude. Naturally I refused the sandwich. Certainly won't be ordering a bacon sandwich there again.

We were so grateful for kindness showed to us by the staff at Hillier's Cheddar We had a car incident in the carpark..the staff couldnt do enough for us Thamkyou.We will be back that's for sure

Ordered food from coffee shop, Not dog friendly, had to sit outside on wet chairs no heating . Will not be back. Shame.

Took my elderly mother to the cafe at Hillier's in Bath yesterday but was taken back to be charged £8.99 for one backed potato with melted cheese on. She did not want any coleslaw or greens. Pretty extreme pricing especially for an elderly person in her late eighties.

I went to the Hilliers Garden Centre at Three Legged Cross with family friends for lunch. Their system of ordering is chaotic to say the least. As we ordered separately, being in a queue, our food was delivered at hugely differing intervals, so much so, that our relatives had eaten their meals before we got ours.Not only that, but my wife purchased a half of Heineken larger. When we looked at the bill she had been sold..."a fruit cider ",which cost a pound more. However, that was dealt with promptly. As for the food, well, not good. I suspect the oil my fish had been cooked in was old. I had to dash for a toilet on the way home. Our bill was £31 pounds for fish and chips, and a pretty pathetic lasagne out of the microwave. Plus a small bottle of sparkling water priced at £2 .Incidentally, my half a pint bottle of Heineken was £3.99. This would make a pint £7.98. Luxury prices, corner cafe service and quality. We won't be going back. GHASTLY.

What a disappointment. On a rainy day the cafe (not restaurant) had ONLY 7 tables inside - despite room for more.

The restaurant staff are rude obnoxious and picky as I ordered some drinks for me and my daughter I see every one else get a glass and ice I was served just two bottles to drink from the cutlery was dirty the teaspoon had food still encrusted very poor over priced plants aswell £30 for one pot plant I can get it half price elsewhere

We went to the restaurant and amounst other food items ordered three baguettes.

These baguettes had an extremely hard crust and the inter part was not soft in anyway.

This needs sorting as they were not pleasant, other than the filling which was excellent.

This has been mentioned to your staff, so the garden centre will have heard about this already.

Hilliers Fishbourne. Well stocked and healthy plants considering the hot weather. On visiting the cafe, I ordered a cheese, ham and mango chutney sandwich. The bread was cheap, white sliced loaf and the chutney was horrible, so sticky and runny, that it was impossible to eat. Please use decent bread and chutney that stays inside the sandwich. I left with sticky fingers, even after using four serviettes. Will not eat in the cafe again.

I always come Hillers in wood house lane and today was different, Ian having few problems with plants and I knew they be able to help I met Josh there and he was so knowledgeable and told me how overcome these problems with 5 different plants
He was very polite and made lasting impression on I felt I needed to write here

Note to managers. It’s nice to know that you spy on your checkout staff, 1984 style, to ensure that they are asking all customers if they want to join the loyalty scheme, and if they say NO to try and persuade them to. However when your checkout staff feel compelled to carry out this exercise, because of the spy system, at the expense of the time of others waiting to be served something has gone wrong. It leaves those waiting to be served thinking that Hillier’s management care more about signing up a new loyalty scheme customers than it does about the time of somebody who is waiting to be served, has used the centre for over 30 years, and has been a loyalty card members since the year it commenced. And don’t you dared say “but it only takes a few minutes..” they are my minutes not yours.

Food was served cold , reheated in microwave. Cheap bacon, mushrooms and sausages so overall not a pleasant experience and won’t be eating there again

A massive thank you to the Three Legged Cross cafe, especially the young waiter and the manager. I was there yesterday afternoon with my sister and elderly mother. We ordered 3 cakes, bottled water and a pot of tea and when I discovered I had left my purse at an earlier restaurant the manager paid for my order straightaway. I had travelled down from Worcestershire so was unable to return today to pay. Very thoughtful staff who did it all without any fuss. Absolutely brilliant 🤩

absolutely rank.... we had fish and chips for 3
costing £40.00 with a cup of tea each. i have never had such disgusting fish in my life, in fact there was no fish it was all greasy batter, it actually has made me feel ill. i will never eat there again.
