Yummy food if a tad expensive.
Ordered 2 macaroni cheese with garlic bread. Expensive at £12.99 but was absolutely delicious 😋. Many thanks to the chefs and servers who work really hard to cater for their many customers. Thanks folks, your hard work (and delicious food) is appreciated. My only concern is that the menu board is unreadable (as other people were commenting on). I had to look at the paper copy by the till.

Gave my paid for purchase away to another customer
Bought some garden furniture and paid for delivery. When it did nt arrive I went in . Initially I was told it was out for delivery but on further investigation I was told it had been delivered to another customer! As there were none left I was given a refund. On contacting the manager I was offered a free coffee !! Appalling service . A perfectly good garden centre ruined by Hilliers ! Won’t be buying anything big again!
Appalling service Piccotts End
Purchased item of furniture in the sale. Was told by 2 members of staff it was free delivery. Several days later had not contacted me to say when it would arrive so went to the shop to find out what was happening, the manager demanded £25 from me to get it delivered. His words were ‘you want the item, you pay us or you pay the driver or you don’t get it delivered’. The 2 staff members admitted they had told me it was free but the manager would not honour that. I got a refund, will not shop here again, they are not to be trusted and customer service is non-existent!
Cream Tea at Weyhill
Had tea for 4 at Weyhill today, very disappointing. Mass produced cakes (scones not even out of their wrappers), sweaty cream, cheap ham sandwiches with cheap bread. £20 per head and not worth £5. I shan’t be returning.
Hilliers Restaurant
I love meeting up with my friends at the restaurant at Hilliers. Great coffee, lovely cakes at good prices. The staff are very helpful.
Poor treatment, poor standards, poor customer service.
We're a British American Family that lives nearby and have visited for years with a usually very positive experience. We can't say the same about this last one.
I think it's wonderful they give jobs to so many Teens for the Summer but the management has failed to give them proper training, or they just don't care.
They failed to put the order in for my Wife's meal but got mine and my sons. When asked, they didn't say sorry, they didn't take her order, they told her to go back and stand in line. They didn't bring us any utensils or napkins. They sent me outside to get a spoon for coffee, when I asked for utensils, they asked me what I was eating, as I had a choice between a spoon only or a fork only? What if I want both? They were completely unable to fathom our request for our drinks to go, and the extra bonus was the unpleasant effect of diarrhea from the under cooked sausage. I think we'll stay away for a few years if we go back at all. It was the most unpleasant experience which left us feeling rather denigrated. All about supporting youth but the poor standards means someone in leadership is failing, or just doesn't care. Perhaps they're feeling so proud they don't feel they need to bother, and that is the sense we took away from it today. Sad end to years of positive reviews.

Nice garden centre and pleased they allow dogs,as clearly stated NOdogs in restaurant yet people were totally disrespecting this with there dogs when I confronted the supervisor he did not care one bit I told him he should be enforcing the rules and got told we don't have time ,so when do rules count,?

Surprised Hillier gets so many negative reviews but note they don’t respond to negative feedback and their search engine is poor. Will shop elsewhere.
Do Hilliers want me as a customer??
Wanted to buy two large glazed blue pots £260 from the Bath outlet. Saw them previous week but were damaged, both were gone this week. I asked if I could order, told no by the plant manager, asked when was the next delivery, told don't know orders are done centrally, parting shot from plant manager "the moral of this is to buy when you first see something" Left the store angry, frustrated got home and ordered the pots on line from a different supplier
Impressive After sales care
Janet (80)my neighbour bought a garden furniture set from the Eastbourne branch. It was excellent quality but I found it very difficult to put together with the Allen key tool.Richard (Hayes) the centre manager, and his team,Tamsin,Lucy and Roberto, went above and beyond to put things right. After a home visit,Roberto managed to put it all together with his electric tool.Janet is over the moon with the impressive aftersales care from all at Hilliers Eastbourne.
The restaurant isn't dog friendly
The restaurant isn't dog friendly. If you have a dog you can only sit outside. The member of staff delivering the message looked like she was chewing a wasp, most unhelpful. saying "if you're not happy go to the manager". Most restaurants ad garden centres are dog friendly now, the excuse given was it is in breach of health and safety to allow dogs in the restaurant. This was Hilliers in Sussex where every other family has a dog, pretty sure they are losing lots of business because of it. Had cream tea that was poor. a dried up scone and little pot of cream and jam for £6.95. I will be avoiding hilliers going forward and going to friendlier garden centres

No Gluten Free options, unfriendly staff
No Gluten Free options other than flapjack in a plastic packet. We were told there was nothing else at all, no bacon rolls, cakes, scones - nothing. After contacting Hilliers, we were told they don't provide gluten free as a duty of care!!! It doesn't take much or cost much to have some gluten free rolls, bread, scones and cakes in the freezer, and have a separate small preparation area. So many other companies do this and manage perfectly well. It is so utterly disappointing to go to a cafe and not even be able to have a bacon roll. The flapjack contains oats which many Coeliacs have a bad reaction to. Hillier don't seem to care about the many, many people with gluten issues. Is that discrimination? Does it contravene the Equality Act 2010? We certainly won't bother with them again, and are putting our experience on all the Facebook gluten free groups.
Overcharged
The till charged me 7.99 for a pack of plants displayed in the "3 for £12" section. I was therefore charged £77 for purchases I thought should be £68. The staff just stated that I had not complied with the offer.
This is not the first time and if I could have left a review of -1 I would have.
Disappointed
A friend and I decided to have an afternoon at Hilliers to stock up on plants for our gardens.
A huge stock of plants but we were so disappointed that most of them were dry and some dying through lack of water.
We went home with very little of what we had intended to buy.

Mulberry and Thyme in Winchester is the worst cafe service I've had since a little old lady served me cake with dead flies on in Yorkshire 40 years ago. We arrived before 2:45pm on a Sunday for coffee to be told that they shut at 3pm (even though the website stated 4pm). There were two people on the queue in front of us and we waited 10 mins, being told twice in that time that they shut at 3pm. We were told we could sit in but they would be "mopping around us". We changed our order to take out and decided not to order cake. During our time being served, we had to remind them three times what our coffee order was. Eventually we were given our coffee after 3pm and the lady grudgingly said she would put it down as overtime. Dreadful.

Went to the garden centre for an afternoon tea on 19 April. The 3 of us had an excellent experience with the best afternoon ever in my opinion. Sandwiches were excellent and we were asked what fillings we liked as one of us does not like eggs. The scones were the best ever. A great selection of cakes we could not finish so were given boxes to take home. Very good value for money
