Trying to register as a Director for a CIC and the website is horrendous. I’ve been waiting over 20 minutes for them to send me a code by email so that I can verify my details.

Downright disgraceful
Well, I had to renew my driving licence now I'm over 70. Im pretty tech savvy. Go online it says, get your ID ready it says. Driving licence scanned in, facial recognition accepted, then had to confirm address, done! Then wahay "we do not recognise you, use the " old online service", (nowhere to get on old service) what a crock of c..p. I'll post the form off. This doesn't surprise me given the useless morons who are currently governing us. This new site is a disgrace, should be scrapped immediately. At least the old system worked! Same trying to get into my local council tax account, I've given up on that too! Diabolical and an insult to intelligent people trying to do the right thing and keep their details correct
Diabolical, dangerous, unsafe GOV UK ONE!
The whole thing is nothing more than a scam and should not be trusted! The system will never recognise you (deliberately!) because they want a photograph of you. Passport -no good, Driving license -no good, NI number -no good, bank details -no good! All in all it's the cherry on the top of the disaterous UK Government. I do not know how or why the British public are being caused so many problems for ID when people are entering the county without any ID whatsoever and being put up in hotels! Seek help from GDS (acting on behalf of the Government) and they will simply cut you off. Ask for their complaints procedure, they blame the service you are looking to complete and cut you off!

Useless. Sitting here with passport and driving licence, entering all the info but obviously not good enough because I have been refused an account twice. Waste of public money, just read the reviews, embarrassing.
Pathetic government service
Got sent a tax refund only to jump through all the hoops and to receive refund via bank transfer. Was asked to provide name, D.O.B, National Insurance and confirm identity. Selected drivers license as a form of identity confirmation only to then be told to select another method as additional confirmation which I do not possess. In order to receive my own refund of my own money to confirm my own identity to be told I can’t after answering all these invasive questions just to fail the authentication process at the end is really infuriating. Pathetic government service shows the intention to return anyone’s money is reluctant.

The app has been created by idiots. It can't even confirm identification using a scanned passport, driving license and previous addresses. It gets so overwhelmed it crashes. I cant even change my address on my driving license. How to make something so simple, completely impossible. Incompetence by the UK Government once again.

Trying to find a form to fill out, the one they offer you can not fill it out on line, and it is not possible to save it. It is the usual madness that by the time you have every managed to get what you need you feel you are ready to be admitted to an asylum.

Nightmare to navigate, have to make accounts and download apps to do anything and after scanning documents and scanning my face they can't confirm my identity anyway, this was for both me AND my partner trying to get new licenses. So because gov.uk DOESN'T work, we now have to go fill out manual forms. Pointless, useless website

I was attempting to verify my ID for Company House. But instead I experienced another useless service which purely aims at getting you to pay a third party provider when actually the service is meant to be free! When are we going to replace civil servants with efficient AI agents. Whoever was talking to me on the webchat was so unhelpful and rude. One login does not work! Coded by incompetents. There was zero thinking put into this website. It looks extremely rushed. The smartphone App is in the same way just abysmal. Incredibly frustrating!

Website just goes round and round and I’m getting absolutely nowhere. Trying to order a replacement driving license, two hours and two of us arguing and getting stressed. Absolutely ridiculous

I signed up to access my tax papers online.
The system did not send me an access code because they forgot to make text messaging compatible with BT's text to voice serive fo rlandline phones.
So I had to go through the long rigmarole of signing up for the service to ask for voicemail to my landline, BUT the syetm didn't update and shut me out of the service complete.
I wanted t put this in anemail so I could send my complaint at a time convenient to me, but they don't accept email - in this dya and age.

On one hand, there are staff who focus strictly on the rules, deadlines, and financial obligations — and while I completely appreciate that HMRC has a responsibility to uphold regulations, this approach can sometimes feel blunt and unhelpful, especially when you’re looking for clarity and guidance to avoid future mistakes.
On the other hand, there are staff who genuinely take the time to listen, provide clarity, and ensure you fully understand your situation before moving forward. They show patience, empathy, and a willingness to go the extra mile to help you navigate complex tax requirements confidently and correctly.
Unfortunately, my first interaction leaned heavily toward the rigid approach — I felt my concerns weren’t fully heard, and the immediate focus was on issuing a penalty rather than understanding the full context. However, my second call was the total opposite — the person I spoke with took the time to listen, reassured me, corrected the misunderstanding, and helped resolve the situation properly.
Overall, the difference in customer service between the two calls was significant. I want to express appreciation for the representative who truly helped me understand what was required and guided me in the right direction. That kind of support makes a world of difference when dealing with something as important and stressful as tax obligations.

Have used small claims court many times before and found it easy to use their site and get things concluded.
Now its an absolute nightmare, little money paid by defendant and I'm struggling to further my case. No help, no communication and no money.
Get back to the office you lot and earn your wages doing the job you're paid for instead of watching soaps at home and wiggling your mouse every now and then to make it look like you're working.
