Absolute disgrace. Will not answer the phone. Will not call back or email any response. Website for renewal is not working for me. Called many times and waited 30 minutes before giving up. Web Chat not working or ignored.
As an Engineer I pay for this service.

Live chat on the website doesn't work saying 'nobody available' with no option to wait. On hold on the phone over 40 minutes so far and getting no joy there either. As a consumer how am I mean to get help if the information isn't on the website? Not impressed.

Trying hard to register for first time but cannot get through it get any response from emails. Rapidly running out of time before new business starts and completely unaware I would have this issue with Gas safe. Can somebody please contact me ASAP to set up registration. Thanks.

all the "Gas engineer" is intrested in is tring to frighten us that gas is dangerious and then turn the supply off, so they can then charge silly monies to reconnect, and of course now we are all useing less energy the prices go to accomadate thier los's

I've spent over an hour waiting to speak to someone by phone over the past few days. I've tried using the online chat function on their website, however anytime I try to use it, it advises me chat is unavailable as they're at maximum capacity. Clear understaffing and lack of support for customers. There's supposed to be e-learning available on their website too, but it's completely underwhelming. Where does all the membership money go I wonder?

I have been a heating engineer for almost 40 years and been gas safe registered ( Formally Corgi) for over 20 years.
Why are the engineers always treated like a piece of meat??
Every engineer has seen dozens of shockingly back work if not more but the gas safe inspector will pull us on the most trivial and ridicules issues, like someone has already mentioned lagging a condensate pipe through a cavity wall. or maybe a couple of millimetres of whit showing on a flue.
The level of support by gas safe to their engineers in appalling, all they are interested in is MONEY..

Ridiculous waiting time via phone. No engineer priority line. Website never works nor can I login anymore. Register engineer....

Great to see where the hard earned money I pay for my registration fees, absolutely horrendous corporation. At least I get a rubbish magazine every month though - WINNER!

I'd give no stars if possible. On hold for half an hour before hanging up. Contacted them by email, no reply.
Web site prehistoric, and always down for updates. Poor effort.

Management of Regulations:
They are meant to be enforcers and justifies of the regulation, their is a rediculous amount of "Technical Bullitins" that engineers are expected to know. Yet the Gas safety & Installation Regulations are STILL DATED 1998 (2018 Landlord updates only, making it more cost effective for landlords) what about engineers and bringing test procedures up to date. You have messed it up soo much that technical support avoid giving advice on the phone with a typical attitude of "your the engineer on site". Due to all your conflicting and also sometimes confusing technical updates you have created more grey areas than the typical British weather. Just take the unsafe situation proceedure after V6 it changed about twice due to mistakes than handed over IGEM to manage no explanation but I assume that..LOL!!

Gas Safe offer engineers clients a free inspection (Great, fair enough, too many rouge installers) yet it's commonly known that an average install is inspected with a fine toothcombe and if something is found that isnt to the latested tb, (example: condense is not lagged whilst fitted within the cavity wall at 40mm [those not gas Safe registered that are interested in this, it is not stated anywhere in GSIUR.98. but another body published a guide and now it was copied and made a technical bulletin]) the inspector seems to jump on his 20ft horse and makes the client feel like they have used a complete cowboy..
Handling of COVID-19.
gas Safe at the start of COVID-19 did not relax the rules of landlords requiring to to carry out annual gas Safe checks during a pandemic when we were still trying to understand the lethalness of the disease. This has made many engineers in employment to landlords or housing associations, very uncomfortable and made to feel that gas Safe do not care for engineers wellbeing. If DVLA could relax rules on MOTS, then why couldn't Gas Safe??
JOKE OF A CORP. Alot more I could write, but other reviews say it. Website registration, lack of use for tech.

Failing Organisation.
The standard of support given to registered engineers is shocking, the standard of enforcement is criminal. Not fit for purpose.

Shocking - the website’s a mess, trying to find anything specific just circled you back round to the page you were on already.

Always found the technical support and the local inspectors easy to deal with and supportive.

Update to the online services has caused mayhem however the online aspect seems to be resolved for myself. Email response has always been within the quoted 5 days

Impossible to speak to anyone over the phone, website is constantly down and they expect engineers to pay for this service

Still chasing one of my lads has safe card each time I called in or tried to make contact I had the luxury of a 40 minute wait each time to be told the same thing the cards in the post and should be with you in 48 hours !

Tried making contact using the online chat after filling out the necessaries directs you to a phone number to call!

Still no engineers identification card after payment has been made!

Shocking organisation, forced to a pay a lot of money a year to gas safe in order to work, for someone at gas sage who is unqualified to dictate rules in an office that effect decent engineers day to day whilst cowboys fit dangerous boilers up and down the country daily and get away with it.
