New Suite - Impulse Purchase
We have purchased furniture from Furniture Barn before and went to the Grantham store to collect a piece of furniture that we had already paid for to add to an existing range in our home. Furniture Barn had contacted us via telephone; informing us that our item was now available; as the stated lead time had promised, ready for collection.
Before collecting our item/s we spoke to the Sales Assistant (Sharon) informing her that we had come to collect a piece of furniture and took the opportunity to look around the showroom. We were not intending to purchase a new suite but were impressed with the range, quality, comfort and price of the suites. We chose to purchase a new suite opting to pay for it interest free over 30 payments with an estimated delivery date of the end of July. After paying the initial 10% in the showroom that day, Sharon confirmed that she would send me an email for us to set up the rest of the Finance Agreement with the supplier.
Our original purchase was brought into the showroom, the box containing the mirror of our purchase had already been opened and checked by the store. Sharon and (I believe) the Store Manager, helped us to load the boxes into our car.
When we got home, after taking a few measurements I became concerned that the new suite did not allow for the Christmas tree in the room. I immediately phoned Furniture Barn and spoke to Sharon who amended my order reducing the size of one of the two settees.She confirmed that she would send another email with the 10% deposit I had already paid applied to a new reduced amount sales invoice. I re-read the sales order then I called Sharon again to check that the stitching on the suite would be the same colour as the fabric, Sharon assured me that it would be the same.
As agreed, Sharon sent the re-calculated sales invoice email. Before completing the Agreement I noticed that the new figures were 20p short;in our favour; so I called Sharon and made her aware of this.
I have now completed the online Finance Agreement, which gave me the option to not share my details with other companies, being informed instantly that I had been accepted. I excitedly await the delivery of my new suite.

Excellent customer service. Delivery drivers friendly an chatty did a superb job erecting all the furniture for both bedrooms including bed. Highly recommend the furniture barn the staff at doncaster were friendly and helpful.

In store at Doncaster staff were excellent. Hiccup with delivery and Birmingham centre were not so helpful on phone when delivery didn’t arrive having taken day off work however again Doncaster staff were more helpful and fitted delivery in as first call 3 days later. Love the furniture and delivery man was great

Reasonable quality but experience let…
Reasonable quality but experience let down by missing bolts and supplied screws too short to do the job. Had to supply my own to finish construction!
Instructions poor and parts not labeled top/ bottom etc

The furniture is excellent and very good value but very disappointed with the length of time everything takes to come. Every time we are given time guidelines and it has always been a couple of months late. Having said that the shop is staffed by excellent friendly and knowledgeable staff and I do far prefer the furniture from there.

Only complaint I have is that 1 item…
Only complaint I have is that 1 item was not delivered. The delivery driver didn't seem to know anything and said it must be on its way, when I rang the delivery place (not the shop itself) to see what had happened they say there was a delay with it but nobody had informed me of this, not a problem but when they said it would be another 4-6 weeks for it to be delivered makes me think the item wasn't ordered in the first place which again not a major problem but would have been nice for them to be honest!

The instore service was very good
The instore service was very good, the lady that dealt with us in store was pleasant, informative and helpful. Not pushy at all.
The only problem was the delivery for the bed we ordered. Quoted 4 to 6 weeks, which came and went. Eventually up to 10 weeks. Problems on the delivery date too when we were contacted by the delivery staff and given a slot of 3pm to 5pm. This also came and went. Eventually spoke to one of the delivery staff who told us that due to traffic problems they would not be delivering on that date. Remonstrated with the person over the phone, but to no avail. In fact his attitude was appalling, didn't care one jot. Bed finally delivered 3 days later and, on this occasion, delivery staff couldn't have been more helpful. So, overall a good experience tarnished by one employee. Would I use Furniture Barn Doncaster again? Yes

Lovely furniture if you can wait half a year
Was told the furniture would take 3 months.
After 4 months I started calling. Was told that my coffee table had not arrived but my other 2 items had. I asked could the other 2 be delivered to be told no it's too far and they don't separate orders. I kept waiting and calling, after 5.5 months I asked for discount. The customer service team was meant to call me and never did so I kept calling them. Eventually I got £68 off the total and after 6 months and a few days they finally arrived!

We do usually have to wait for all of the items on the order before we can deliver. To split a delivery would mean you would have to pay an additional delivery fee.
