Avoid like the plague!!
I purchased a pair of new Freesport Classic Quad roller skates from ebay dealer ‘freesportskates’ and my experience with this agent has actually put me off purchasing on ebay forever.
Facts:
1. First attempt of parcel was late, therefore I was unable to give the skates to my friend on her birthday as planned
2. The ‘self employed/ freelance’ Parcels to Go courier posted two ‘sorry I missed you’ cards through my door (as I was in work when he attempted delivery) however on both occasions he failed to write down his contact details, such as his name or number so it was impossible to contact him to rearrange. He didn’t use his initiative and leave the parcel with a neighbour, even though many of my neighbours actually work from home and would have happily accepted the parcel.
3. I contacted the ebay seller ‘freesportskates’ regarding this matter and his attitude towards me was unemphatic and unprofessional. He did not clearly state how he was going to help me.
4. After about one month, I had still not received my item, so I opened a case with ebay to request a refund as the service I had received from ebay seller freesportskates was abysmal. To my shock and confusion, ebay stated that the parcel had been signed for (by me!??) and they was unable to assist me further.
5. I attempted to contact the courier Parcels to Go to dispute this, and this proved almost impossible. Parcels to Go had no phone number that I could contact, therefore to my frustration I had to spend time explaining the situation via their live internet chat. I advised them that I didn’t sign for my parcel and I’d never received it, and they advised me that I’m not able to dispute this matter as I wasn’t the account holder. They didn’t seem at all concerned that their self employed driver had fraudulently singed my name and stole my parcel.
6. I contacted the ebay seller ‘freesportskates' directly and explained the situation and asked him to raise a dispute with Parcels to Go as I wanted to resolve the situation in an amicable manner, but sadly he completely ignored me. I find it disgusting that he did not cooperate and escalate this matter, but it’s even worse that he ignored me completely- what does this say about his integrity?
In summery, I have never received my item, I was unable to provide gift for my friend on her birthday, I’m £50.00 out of pocket and I’ve wasted so much of my valuable time trying to resolve this matter.
The entire experience has caused me unnecessary stress and upset and I have lost all faith in online buying.
Do not use this company- you have been warned.
