Easy access and convenient

Very thorough and professional. Excellent customer service.

Me and my husband were in a position where we wanted to consolidate all of our debt and secure it to our home which was a huge risk anyway but this was the only way forward for us.

We got in contact through another company who recommended Evolution as they specialised in loans for people who also have a help to buy.

The phone calls were extremely intrusive, the questions asked about our own personal outgoings was just unnecessary and uncomfortable. I understand they have to look into these things but a full list for each of us asking what each transaction was and what it was for on our statements we felt was overstepping. We also had to speak to several different people who were asking the same questions and we were having to explain ourselves to each of those people it got ridiculous, surely there should have been notes.

This went on for 3 days of phone calls and emails back and forth and told it was “looking good” so we were extremely hopeful as this would be a massive change for us to get our finances in balance. We got told we would have an update by Tuesday and this wasn’t the case so we then had to email ourselves to be told that the affordability wasn’t good and we couldn’t afford it? At this point we had been in contact for over a week.

Bear in mind that this loan is CONSOLIDATING our debt into a much much smaller monthly payment. We have been paying well over £1500 every month on our debts and the monthly payment for the loan to consolidate the debt was just over £600 so how could this not be affordable when the outgoing would be more than halved. If we can afford £1500 we can most certainly afford £600.

Another huge red flag for us was that they told us that they would be paying our creditors for us and the money wouldn’t touch our bank account which is extremely alarming as this loan is ours and secured to our home and not theirs to be in control of. We also signed a contract and after reading through it, it states twice that the money will be paid to us and also gives a section for bank details that we wanted the money sent too which was left blank and no mention of it.

If you’re looking to consolidate your debt I’d look at other avenues especially if you aren’t in the same position as us and needed a lender who were willing to lend on top of a help to buy. There will be much cheaper alternatives out there. Our interest was over £40,000 on a £30,000 loan.

I beg of you all please DO NOT use this company. They destroy lives. They have cost me my marriage and I am on the verge of a complete mental breakdown because of them. The fees and interest they charge is just pure greed, they have no morales and need to be forced to stop trading. I hope and pray companies who do this to good hardworking people get shut down. I have no words for Evolution Lending. I hope the Ombudsman and the BBC take notice.I beg you all to please exhaust all other options and no matter how they sell the loan to you and how wonderful they make it sound DO NOT use them, you will regret it for the rest of your life. If ruins you, trust me.
