After doing some sums and reading reviews and answering some annoying questions (such as you spent £50 on your CC in april what was it on???? ) I decided against it. I felt I would be jumping out the frying pan into the fire. Their interest rates were CRAZY. I’m lucky enough to actually be able to pay of my debts I just thought il do it sooner and cheaper this way. Too much of a gamble putting this on as a second charge to my house.

The loan application was made as simple and easy to complete as possible. I used thier app and it was all done within 10 minutes

Any of the people I have spoken with have been down to earth and friendly and guided me through. Would have preferred a call earlier today to upload docs is the only criticism.

What a complete waste of time and energy! I applied for a secured loan 22 days ago and was told that Evolution Money were one of the quicker paying loan companies, expecting to pay within 3-5 days. What a load of cobblers!

They strung me along for 22 days, reassuring me that I was a good candidate to be accepted to the loan. I connected all my bank accounts and they went through each transaction with a fine tooth comb, asking me to explain what each and every thing was. They also went through my credit file in great detail and I spent MANY HOURS on the phone to their underwriters explaining everything. Even then they kept coming back to me with follow up questions day after day. It was soul sapping, and I would much rather have dragged myself over broken glass naked than spend that length of time poring over every detail of my life, justifying every purchase. They even wanted to know what some £5 purchases at Amazon were for. I also had to keep chasing them for updates.

The final straw was on Friday when I spoke to one of the underwriters handling my case (Kadeel). He seemed confident of a positive lending decision on Monday and that he would call me in the morning. Guess what? I didn't receive a phone call and I had to chase yet again at 15:30. The assistant who answered told me that Kadeel was conveniently unavailable, but the lending manager had declined my application and that was that.

What a joke of a company. I was only applying for a loan of £18k that would have been SECURED on my property which has £400k equity. WHERE IS THE RISK?! Anyone would have thought I was asking to borrow £1m based on how I was hauled over the coals. I would not recommend Evolution Money UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Sell a kidney if you have to, it will be quicker and be much less inconvenience!

Hermann Holtze's (staff from Evolution) approach to professionalism made a great difference. He is a genuine professional with excellent active listening skills. His non-judgemental approach is exceptional. He's very patient and reassuring. There was no pressure at all. He gave alternatives, very pleasant and respectful on the phone.

2nd review, as evolution disputed me naming the underwriter and the rep who delayed my application, messed me about considerably. Evolution charge large fees, you do all the work and truthfully I’m not convinced you get the product you want due to their overly ridiculous affordability. It had taken weeks and you have to remind of emails. There are better companies in my opinion you just need to look for them. Also don’t get referred to them as you’ll just pay even more. Like I say terribly company to deal with, terrible approach to lending, expensive fees, incapable complaints team and they go out of their way to remove negative reviews rather than fixing things. Even their trust pilot person lacks ethics - how many more reviews have been removed? Just wait the bs response pretending they care. Just don’t use them, they get worse as you go deeper into your application.
