They are SCAMMERS!!! Don't buy from them. I ordered a generator and was given a tracking number and delivery date and I still haven't received my generator. Reached out to the company, spoke with Diane twice and she kept telling me they're looking into it. Called again (forgot the name of the CSR) and she told me the same thing, Reached out again and told them I need my money back and Israel the CSR said I have to pay a restocking fee. Restocking fee for something I never received?

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE SCAMMERS!!!

Ordered an 18kw generator on Saturday, delivered on Tuesday. You have to know what you are ordering, and that it will be delivered curbside. If you are an uninformed buyer - you can't blame the company.

I ordered a 24kw generator on a Thursday and was told it was expected to ship the following week. Over the weekend, I started looking for the manual and happened to find this review web site. Needless to say I was spooked and checked to see if I had been charged. Monday no charge had come through so I called Electric Generators Direct and was told it was in the warehouse scheduled to be shipped on Wednesday. All was true and my generator is installed and functional. All conversation with salespersons were courteous and professional. The trucking line they used was equally good. I highly recommend and would use again. I truthfully cannot explain the bad reviews but they caused me anxiety over a weekend!

Poor back up service. Do not stand behind what they sell!

Do not expect to receive your product in a timely manner. I ordered my Generator April 2021 with a delivery date of September 2021. Order #EDG2886316 the very next day after my order the delivery was pushed out to October, the next time early November, then mid November, then February 2022. Finally cancelled my order today after purchasing from another vendor. Customer support was not helpful at all. I highly recommend finding another supplier and forego the headache, misfortune, and waste of time.

I received a used broken generator in a broken box without packing slip.
Had to call the company 8 times to organize the return.
The return authorization document was not provided with the return authorization instruction and the shipping company refused to pick up the item.

Horrible Customer Service - I wish I could give this company 0 stars. I ordered a transfer switch, had to call 13 days later to track the package, 3 days later it still had not been shipped. According to their website the part was in stock when the order was placed. The customer service rep was rude and not helpful when I cancelled the order. We will not be using this company again.

So far my experience has been nothing but good with this company. Called to ensure they had the specific generator I wanted in stock which they did, ordered right over the phone. Very nice lady took the order, emailed the receipt and got a notification it shipped the next day. Will have to call the shipping company to set up a delivery time which not a big deal at all. As long as there's no damage from shipping this will conclude the review.

Their website said a generator I wanted was in stock. So I purchased it. They gladly took my $5,000 but then they updated the order to say it wouldn't ship for a month and a half. Just got another email saying it wouldn't ship for 2 more weeks. Don't trust these guys, they are liars.

I ordered a genpad from this company before I read any of these reviews. When I did read them I nearly had a panic attack. But my experience with this company was nothing less than excellent. They responded promptly to my email and invited me to call them. The person I talked with was professional and polite and a very goo$ listener. I ordered late on a Thursday. Their website shows they are closed on Friday, Monday was a holiday. My product shipped on Tuesday and arrived on Thursday. Delivery guy called in advance and when he arrived took care to place the product as I asked him too. Could not dream of a better experience.

Extremely poor.. non delivery, poor customer service.. avoid avoid avoid!!!!

Ordered and paid for a generator two weeks ago.

When I phoned, they said that was because the national carrier company had used a local carrier. I asked who that was they said they would get back to me. Nothing.
Phoned again today same story, "it will be delivered tomorrow" but they could not tell me by whom.

Contacted him and he said he did not have it....so still waiting. Poor customer Service or just scammers, what ever it turns out, they don't appear to be telling the truth.

Ordered generator and with-in 2 days they drafted my account. 5 days later generator supposedly shipped. I contacted shipper with tracking provided by Generators Direct and they did not have anything for the tracking number. Took 4 days and countless hours with Generators Direct only to find out they lost the order supposedly. But they would ship a replacement in 7 months! Asked for a refund...been waiting almost another month on this refund. Be careful if you choose this company.

Generators have been out of stock everywhere, but I finally found one online at Electric Generators Direct. I called to confirm the generator was in stock, then ordered online. Later the same day I got shipping confirmation, tracking, delivery date and shipping information including the serial number of the unit. A 10 day transit time had me worried about potential damage but the gen arrived on time in perfect condition, new, unopened box, everything perfect.

Great price and shipping was fast but God forbid it arrives damaged. Waited 2 months for them to tell me to go to the manufacturer... Customer service sucks and now I'm waiting another month for Westinghouse to get back to me. I'm at a point now where I'm just going to buy the parts and chalk it up. Good Luck

Total scam . order generator and had to pay now if i wanted to be put on list ,, waited 2 months then called to see if it shipped ,NOW stated have to wait 3 more months , don't waste your time with this company ,

I ordered a generator from them in September salesman seems very nice and knowledgeable. The order arrived in parts over a month's timeline. I then contacted an installer who informed me they where super busy. No problem I do not need it until winter in Northern Michigan. It was installed in early December. I had three components the installer did not need. I called the company and was told that the return was only good for SIX DAYS after delivery. What awful service. Do not deal with them unless you have money to toss at them to get bad treatment.

Good news, I am selling the parts online. Their is a shortage of parts. This was the idea of my installer not the crappy online guy.

When will I learn "BUY LOCAL"

I ordered a generator from them on 8/11/20. I was told it would ship on 9/30/20. I get an email on 9/15/20 saying that it would now ship on 10/15/20. On 10/20/20 the new shipping date given was 11/30/20. I spoke to their customer service rep, she claimed that Generac was having a hard time getting parts, therefore electric generators direct couldn’t ship mine. I emailed Generac, just to see if what they were saying was true. Generac said that they were having no problem with parts at all. Also in that time frame electric generators direct promised 3 were due in to electric generators direct and that mine was one of them. There has been no update from them on my purchase yet they claim on their site that they are in constant communication with their customers. It’s been 3 1/2 months and I still haven’t received my generator. It’s been a horrible experience dealing with them. Customer service is atrocious.

Ordered a transfer switch, their website said it was in stock. Yet the manufacturer and all other resellers were out!! Called the next day and customer service said it would go out that day. The next day rolls around and I send an email asking status and the reply I got was "will ship in about 8 weeks"!

So I look up another item I know is nowhere to be found that won't ship from the manufacturer for at least 5 weeks, a Champion generator. The EGD website says backordered but will ship 11/25/20 (a week from today). Champion and other resellers are saying early January to ship. So I contact EGD and ask them about the 11/25 ship date and they INSIST that date is good.

Stay the hell away from these people!!

The good news: Generac makes a great generator. The bad news: everything else. The trucking company was supposed to call to make an appointment for the delivery. Instead I got a call from the driver on Saturday asking where to put it. I was working and it came as a voice mail that I responded to quickly – the driver said he went ahead and delivered it. I was a little annoyed that I didn’t have the opportunity to inspect it or sign for it, but okay.

I called my wife to confirm the delivery and it had indeed been delivered – to my neighbor, 150 yards down our country road. I called the driver back. “What do you want me to do about it?” he asked. I told him I wanted him to come back and put it in my driveway. “I’m not doing that. It’s portable – you can push it.”

I had to wait until Monday to call the carrier, SAIA. An automated message said that I would be called back in approximately 10 minutes. An hour later I called Electric Generators Direct. I was happy with the response I got from the rep; she understood my frustration and assured me that she would look into it. She also informed me that SAIA had farmed the delivery out to an unnamed third-party carrier.

At the end of the day she called me as promised. She said she was just touching base as SAIA had told her that they had contacted me and scheduled delivery for the next day. I told her that I had heard from no one. Now equally frustrated she promised to straighten it out.

That was Monday evening; it’s now Wednesday morning and I’ve heard from no one.

You can get a good generator pretty much anywhere, but unless you enjoy this level of ineptitude, unprofessionalism, and disregard then I would suggest you buy it from someone other that Electric Generators Direct or allow it to be transported by SAIA.
