I recently rented a vehicle through an online broker, which promoted ACE Rent a Car and offered what was advertised as "full protection insurance." I selected that option and paid in full ahead of time. However, when I arrived to pick up the vehicle, I was informed at the counter that the so-called “full protection” only covered wheels and certain parts—not collision coverage. I was then told I would need to pay an additional $30 per day for proper insurance coverage.
The staff member at the counter was dismissive and made it clear that this was my problem—not theirs or the broker’s. I tried to explain the situation and asked for help, but I was met with attitude and zero flexibility. Since the broker had already charged my credit card and I couldn’t cancel or get a refund on the spot, I had no choice but to accept the additional $300 charge for my 10-day rental.
As someone who rents cars regularly when visiting family across the country, I’ve never encountered this kind of poor customer service or misleading insurance policies. This experience was incredibly frustrating, and it has left a lasting negative impression. I will not be renting from Drivo, ACE—or any affiliated service—again.

it was such an easy pick up and drop off experience. the staff was helpful and even a little funny. my reservation number was POV17557467.
Added $200 in fees for insurance when I arrived. After I argued for 20 mins they removed the fees and gave me the car lol, after saying it was a 100% requirement for me to rent from them. Do better guys, pathetic. STAY AWAY
I rented a car from Ace and returned it in good condition. The employee who received it said everything looked fine and gave no indication of any issues.
A few days later, I was charged couple of hundred for “low tire pressure” — without warning, proof, or any communication. There was no visible issue with the car when I dropped it off, and I was never asked to sign anything related to this charge.
Customer service was completely unhelpful and refused to provide any documentation or explanation. I’ve had to dispute the charge with my credit card company and report the situation to consumer protection agencies.
This feels like a dishonest and predatory business practice. I strongly advise others to avoid renting from Ace Rent a Car.

I was a little nervous at first since the location was offsite from JFK and we’d never heard of Drivo. They took such great care of us! Check in was a breeze, the staff were very kind and friendly, and switching our dropoff location was just as easy with a $100 change fee, which is cheaper than Enterprise. Didn’t even have to call, just dropped it off and they handled the rest. The car came with easy pass which was great for a quick stop through each toll. We had an early flight home that was before the shuttle was running, so a kind gentleman working at the New Jersey location drove us to the terminal for free and saved us a uber at 4am. We’ll definitely book with them again for our next east coast visit!

Hands down the worst rental car experience I have ever had. i reserved the vehicle through uber. My flight was delayed and I arrived past the closing time and was not able to pick up my vehicle until the next morning. After waiting in line for more than an hour, They refused to refund me for the night I couldn’t even pick up the car. Next they lied about not having cars available and tried to put me in a compact car even then i reserved an SUV. Then even though I was told I could extend at the same rate by a customer service rep and the agent that was helping me, the manager (Caroline) refused to honor that because she wanted to make more money. They gave me a car that reeked of smoke and had a broken radio. I was traveling with my baby and had no other options but to accept the car. Their “corporate” office is a call center and they are useless as well. They refused to switch my car or give me a discount. If i could give negative stars I would. R/A No.: LGA-68138
Beware of this company. Cost of my rental almost doubled from $449 due to penalties and fees they deliberately don’t tell you about. Also I rented a full size vehicle and the employee gave me a Camry. I asked him was that full size he said yes but in reality it was mid size. Beware of this company

We went there 35 minutes after the scheduled pick up. The person at the counter said that the reservation has already canceled because it was 30 minutes past scheduled pick up. After that, they made us pay more for an upgrade since they said they did not have the car that I booked. It appears that this car rental company entices people with low prices initially but then makes them upgrade. Customer service experience is not very good. I would not rent from Drivo Ace Fox rental car agencies in the future.
They are not efficient. The wait and process takes very long. The agents don’t seem to care that there is a long line of customers waiting.
Everything went well, it will be more easier if the car pickup and drop off is in airport parking.

They really work very slow I waited over hour in the office they make u pay insurance even u have your own thru credit card or other then they make u crazy on every tiny scratch on the car
They r money sucker's in every way they could

Stay away from them
Disscusting would not take them again even if they would be cheaper
I would rather go to a rental that there is no big hassle taking out a car and giving back

Do you see positive reviews with Conf numbers? Who would include a conf number with a review? I'll tell you. Someone who açepts the bribe from DRIVO to leave a good review. In their bribe offer DRIVO says put your postive review in Trustpilot with your conf number and we'll enter you in a drawing for a Macbook. If you get screwed by DRIVO dont hope help for hope from the Better Business Bureau. The BBB wrote me that DRIVO wont respond to BBB complaints

The pick up and drop off process went very smoothly. I would definitely recommend renting through Drivo. Received a nice vehicle.
Let’s start with the system issues. Systems always down then u go to the branch and all those guys working there apart from the First Gentleman that initially completed my booking acts like they’re trained assholes and doesn’t want to even speak to customers. Now, I rented the car for a week. After driving it I noticed it wasn’t driving properly. So, I took time to go back and exchanged. The manager then mentioned if the car is driving and nothing happened to me while I was driving it then he cannot exchanged it. I then left with the car and tried to go to a different car renter but lines were took long at the airport I left. When the car was due back, I asked if I can extend but with a different car. It seems I already made some friends cause I was told that can’t happen and what initially booked for wasn’t available and it’s either I wait a couple of hours to see what came in or keep the same car and since I was going to work. Once again with no time I kept it with the thought that once I returned the car, I will never rent with Drivo again.
