The waiter was very efficient, also talkative too asking us what was needed

One star is generous. I really love Dobbies but the staff at the Gillingham Kent branch are so miserable and unhelpful. Not everyone, but a few of the female staff are so unhelpful and unhappy! No smiles at all. I had a manager looking me up and down when I asked for a price match, I could see her ranting and she walked off. I would hate to work in such a toxic environment and won’t be renewing my membership. Nasty and intimidating and rude!

It was fine, staff friendly especially in the cafe. All the staff in the cafe/ restaurant are so helpful, especially Cambell and Kathrine

The staff are always so kind and so helpful so much to look at in the plant section, and the garden section is really great so much choose from,and after finding every think on your list time for a free drink from your club card and something to eat, many thanks Dobbies.

We had to wait ages to be shown to a table although the restaurant was not that busy. Tables were not being cleared. The food was good though

Pleasant environment, friendly staff

Why does your store feel so hot inside it really is uncomfortable inside.Especially with the lighting in the restaurant ceiling it’s very low and to much of it then you’ve got all the hanging lights whilst you wait to be served and by the time you get to the front you really don’t feel like a hot coffee and a cake more like the need for an ice pole to cool you down.

Service very good. 20 of us had afternoon tea to celebrate my retirement. Food very nice but surprised to be told the price doesn't include green tea, only breakfast tea or coffee. If you are having afternoon tea you should be able to choose your tea without additional charges.

Great staff - the best!
The breakfast we ate had odd flavoured tomatoes and spoilt the taste of the rest of the food sadly.
We mentioned it to a member of staff on leaving and said the service was brilliant.

We will probably stick to sandwich/cake as usual next time. Pity.

Not the cheapest but its bright and clean. We use the restaurant quite a bit but this is steadily going down hill. The booking in to get a table needs to be revised to make it easier and more user friendly.

Went to the gillingham store and queued for the restaurant and low and behold! They ran out of food at 1.30pm on a Saturday for goodness sake. What a terrible place to eat. It used to be a really nice place to eat but it has gone downhill massively since lockdown. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Such a shame 😞

Queue for a coffee is usually far too long mid-mornings.
They’re are 3 coffee machines but normally only one overworked girl processing all the orders!!

I love Dobbies Gillingham and I love the new food hall too. Well worth a visit

Hi whoever decided to change the restaurant around has made a big mistake . Yes you had to line up sometimes but there was a good variety of fresh food and every afternoon the place was full for afternoon teas. There was a nice outdoor space and always busy. Now there are major lines waiting for snacks and drinks not enough staff very little variety ( when I went at 2pm on Saturday all the food available was two poorly made and presented “ toasties” scones. So I thought I would try the restaurant having noticed on prior visits it was always half empty only to be told that they had run out of food ! At 2 pm on a Saturday? They are adjacent to Waitrose where any type could be purchased! Or are they only trained Microwave and boil in the bag?
I have spent a lot of time and money in this establishment but I will not be renewing my membership. You had a very busy value for money restaurant which was always busy and swapped it for this debacle. I see from other reviews I am not the only person to think this Maybe franchise it out to reputable caterers.

We visited dobbies Gillingham Kent on Saturday where Mark in the garden centre went above and beyond helping me choosing and planting up pots for my garden. He was knowledgeable and very helpful and I would definitely reccomend

First time going to your restaurant today for my mums birthday. What can i say, fantastic!!! Deanna was our waitress and she was lovely-nothing was too much trouble and always smiling. We were also very surprised when she came out with a cake and a candle for mums birthday. It wasnt asked for but very much appreciated. Good servers are hard to find, fantastic ones even harder, so make sure you hang onto Deanna!!! Thank you for making my mums meal just that little bit special for her.....we will definitely be back!!!
