Bad Quality and Almost Useless Protection Plan
Bad quality: Had purchased system 2 Daikin aircon end 2022, once installed i already experienced noisy and not very cold air from the machines. However it is just lesser cool than other aircon i had experienced, hence i just leave it. However after 1 year the aircon is getting warmer, hence i called the Courts to request someone to come down to take a look. The guy checked and just mentioned there might be gas leak but cannot found the root cause. He just topped up the gas and left and asked me to call Courts if this happens again. I seriously doubt the quality of the machine / installation that Courts had provided, this is Daikin and yet within 1 year, it starts to breakdown.
The horrible part is that 3 mths after the service, 28 Mar 2024, the aircon broke down with an error code U0 (gas depleted/overheating). i had purchased Courts protection plan which is not cheap and yet when i tried to call them to arrange a service date, they told me it is public holiday and only next Tue has slots, so i waited. Sat they called me again saying Tue has slots but nothing been confirmed again. I called on Monday 1 Apr again, the department said Tue is all taken and may need to push to Wednesday or Thursday... seriously? What is the point of purchasing protection plan if i cannot get anyone when i most needed them? It is like 36-37 degree everyday now..
I would seriously wrote reviews everywhere to warn anyone i know or don't know against buying any important home appliance from Courts and also the protection plan.
ZERO STAR - BAD CUSTOMER SERVICES AND WORST WARRANTY EVER
ZERO STAR
Refund my S$270 that I paid to get only BAD CUSTOMER SERVICES and COURTS USELESS extended WARRANTY that covers NOTHING.
21 Oct 2022
Bought an iPhone 14 Pro Max 128 GB from Courts S$1799 and paid S$270 for their 1+2 years in house extended warranty which Courts' sales staff claimed was "as good as OR even better" than Apple Care as they will pickup the phone for checking - simply by calling their hotline.
1 year later:-
8 - 12 Dec 2023
Faults appeared (@ Hokkaido Japan) during holiday trip
1. Intermittent shutdowns
2. Battery does not last long
3. Charging port loose
30 Jan 2024
I decided to have the phone checked. Received an email from Jonathan and submitted my INFO of the sales order/faults.
1 Feb 2024
No reply. Emailed them and Muhammad asked for my INFO again. Both of them disappeared.
5 Feb 2024
Jatzen asked for INFO again and he disappeared.
13 Feb 2024
Called hotline and Ms Noraini asked for INFO again.
But she was kind and helped a lot by referring my queries to her colleague Mr Sani Bin Baharudin.
15 Feb 2024
Courts Mr Sani Bin Baharudin replied:-
"Charging port loose is an exclusion of the warranty. Also the warranty covers events happening only in Singapore. Refer to the attachments sent by the relevant department. Please monitor the other issues and if the issue persist, please let us know. We will keep the case open till end of the week."
21 Feb 2024
Mr Sani replied my queries:-
"Battery is not covered by the warranty. As per your 1st email, my colleagues here all had the same experience while they were in Japan. This is due to the cold temperatures there, Once they are back, their phone did not give them any issues. However, as per previously mentioned in the 1st email i've sent, the warranty is only applicable in Singapore but i have informed you to observe the phone, if after bringing it back it has issues, to contact us.
You have however informed that it is the battery issue. If you see the T&C of the warranty, battery is not covered by the warranty. Warranty only covers Electrical and Mechanical only.
We can engage our repairer to assess the issue with the phone but we need to inform you that if the issues are exclusion of the warranty, it will come with cost. Hope this explains our stance on the matter. Thank you."
28 Feb 2024
"As per your request to list down the warranty coverage, you may refer to our Terms and Conditions. The Terms and conditions are also at the back of your invoice on the purchase. We apologies we are unable to assist you further than this. Thank you."
5 Mar 2024
"Charging port loose has already been informed to you that is an exclusion of the warranty on February 15 via email. Just to recap, You reported that the phone intermittent shutdown on Japan trip. Battery does not last long and Charging port loose. This is to inform you that all those issues does not cover under the warranty. We have deemed this case as closed and will be sending you an official letter stating this."

FYI Courts warranty is so GENERIC it is for air cleaners. bread toasters vacuum cleaners - and iPhones too!
Do you know Courts extended warranty does not cover electrical and mechanical faults - as confirmed by Mr Sani.
How about electronics faults?
Mr Sani refused to answer...
COZ IT IS NOT EVEN MENTIONED IN THEIR WARRANTY!
Does it mean COURTS warranty only covers:
"EMPTY RETAIL BOXES AND CARTONS" of their products - which is not electrical, mechanical nor electronics. AND do ensure the retail boxes and cartons are still in Singapore - else no support.
Is it true?
Disclaimer:
*** This assumption was derived from Mr Sani's email reply as above. Please clarify if it is not true by using your own judgements.
Till now - No email reply, no more customer supports, no official letter. Refusal to provide a list of iPhone parts/faults covered for my clearer understanding.
Now Courts REFUSED and CLOSED my case.
Thus my complaint being lodged here right now for public information.
I just had a terrible experience with…
I just had a terrible experience with Courts after buying the awesome Sony A95L TV from their Orchard Heeren branch.
The salesperson, Reyes Arnold Arellano was extremely impatient in closing the deal, so much so he miscalculated the payment I had to make (which was way lesser than what I was expected to pay) until I reminded him of it. I He breathed a sign of relief and told me I saved him from a dressing down with the boss. Anyway, I would still have pay the full amount at Delivery so it wouldn’t have made a difference cos it is all in black and white. I deserved a trophy for my honesty and pointing out his incompetency. 🙂
Delivery was set the next day (today) at 12-4pm.
I told Arnold to tell the delivery men to contact me via WhatsApp and he apparently told em to. This afternoon, the deliverymen knocked on the door early and they told me why I wasn’t around. I told them i informed Arnold to tell ‘em to contact by WhatsApp. Arnold failed to do so. Another sign of incompetency from him.
The worst was yet to come, the deliveryman who went by Wan Faisal failed to put the old lcd tv into the box despite my request to do so. He also unboxed and fixed the TV with another outside my house when there were ample space in another room to do it.
He forgot and failed to fix the Bravia Cam which he was supposed to do so as well. It is an impt item as I tend to use gesture and voice controls with my smart tv.
He carried my TV in an impatient manner with his hands touching the screen and left stain marks on it as a result! I only discovered the marks later cos he and another guy didn’t even allow me to inspect the TV properly and left abruptly.
I have filed a complaint with the management and am awaiting their reply.
Disposal of bulky boxes at yr cost
Purchased 2 Fridges from Court. We had to keep the bulky boxes for 7-14days in case fridge spoilt. it’s no a small item and taking up spaces at home. The disposal of bulky boxes cost would be borne by customer. it’s ridiculous. I had never encountered from other vendor. Even gain city wouldn’t do that. Disappointed

My daughter needed an oven urgently and we went to Courts Causeway Point, Singapore.
We were attended by your staff Ms Nur Aqilah at the Cornell products area. We were both impressed by her knowledge of a few brands which my daughter enquired on and settled for Cornell oven and blender too finally. She was pleasant, friendly, professional and went beyond our expectations in regards to service.
Thank you Ms Aqilah for your service and dedication. Courts is lucky to have you.
We appreciate you. Thank you.
Avoid them
Avoid them. Sold me a recliner chair with a broken arm rest, This is a rip-off!
Feedback on Sales Personnel Interaction at Tampines Court Mega Store
Hi,
I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service provided by one of your sales personnel during my recent visit to the Tampines Court Mega Store on 4th Feb 2024, at approximately 3:30 pm.
Upon arriving at the store with my wife, we proceeded to the vacuum cleaner section with a specific interest in the Midea 2-in-1 vacuum cleaner. However, the sales person we encountered provided inaccurate information about the product, insisting that it lacked the ability to pick up hair despite evidence to the contrary.
Furthermore, when discussing Dyson products, the sales person inaccurately claimed that mop attachments were compatible with our existing V12 model, and we can just purchase the mop attachments alone which is contradicting information we had received directly from Dyson.
Additionally, their dismissive response to our inquiries about product demonstrations and their inappropriate remarks about the size of our living space (R u staying at a landed 2 storey house) were both unprofessional and disappointing.
As customers, we expect knowledgeable and courteous assistance when seeking guidance on potential purchases. The behavior exhibited by this particular staff member not only soured our experience but also reflects poorly on the reputation of the Court Mega Store.
I urge the management to address these concerns promptly and to ensure that all sales staff are adequately trained to provide accurate information and exemplary customer service.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Jonathan Lim
Court's Online Cross-selling is good
Court's Online Cross-selling is good. Whenever i want to buy a Mouse for my Gaming set up they always recommend me more things for my Gaming Set ups such as Keyboards and Monitor.
Poor after sales
Poor after sales, they ask for all your details during the check out process but when you want to follow up on a purchase they are unable to search their own system with the details provided. So not sure what’s the point of asking?
Incompetent installers ! Please Check your products carefully
The service at the courts shop at the Heeren was good. However, my negative experience with Courts is always the terrible after sales service. I bought some dining chairs and an office chair and was told that the delivery for the dining chairs was on the 17 Jan. No date was given for the office chair. However, I got a call on 15 informing me that the delivery date was changed and they were coming on 16. I was only after some confusion and clarification that I realised that it was an additional delivery for the office chair. When the chair arrived, the installation was incorrect - the chair tilted forward instead of backwards. It's such a simple set up with a picture provided yet it was wrong. What more was also an additional installation fee for the chair. I had to call the hotline and send pictures to "prove" that there was an error, but there were no response following that. I had to call the hotline again to tell my story before I got acknowledged for sending the picture.
till now, they haven't informed me what/when they will come. They took away my other chair and now I have no chair to sit on because the one they sent is just uncomfortable with the seat sliding downwards.
Crap after-sales and irresponsible service from Court!
I dont have an issue with the products Courts carries (since they are just a reseller) nor their price.
What irks me is their after-sales.
Recently I bough a LG 10kg washing machine, and a LG 9kg heat pump dryer. Total more than $3k.
On installation, the delivery does not keep to the timing.
After installation, staking the dryer on top of the washer, I realized the the doors opens to different sides. I ask the installer to help me flip the door for either one so that both opens on the same side. He refuses rudely claiming that his job does not allow. I called up the customer service, and they asked the installer supervisor to call me. After explaining, he says he will look into it. But he called the guy who installed for me, and he just continue arguing with me.
I got no choice but to relent to it, and was understanding enough to think he may have other deliveries he needs to rush to.
But that is not true. He was at the bottom of my block for the next 2 hours, sleeping in his lorry.
I complained to Courts customer service and I did not get a single reply or call back.
What happened next is, the dryer stop drying just 6 months later.
As it is under warranty, I called LG directly.
They came, and to our shock and annoyance, LG technician commented that the installation was wrong. The installer from Courts did not install the drainage pipe correctly. The right way is to connect the dryer drainage pipe to the washer drainage pipe which should then go into the floor trap. The wrong installation caused the choke and hence the dryer stop function.
Crap service and irresponsible installer from Courts!!
My husband and I went to Courts…
My husband and I went to Courts Megastore to buy recliner chairs on 7 Jan 2024. We were served by Miss Faridah Ahmad 04906. She recommended exactly what we needed. She was very polite and friendly. We are very happy with her service and will definitely look for her on our next purchase.
I've experienced poor after-sales…
I've experienced poor after-sales service from Courts Singapore. Despite reaching out three times for an update on my purchase, I haven't received any callbacks or information. It's been a month and a half, and I'm growing increasingly frustrated, wondering if I'll ever get my product. The company needs to improve its communication and after-sales support.
Best Service Ever
I must give 5 stars(5/5) to Mr.Shi Kai sales staff from Courts Eastmall. He is very patience, helpful & knowledgeable. I strongly reccommend him & look for him for future purchases. Keep up the good work👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👏👏👏
Bought a 2-door Samsung fridge…
Bought a 2-door Samsung fridge (867636813230) along with the extended warranty, now the ice-making tray is leaking. Called costumer service, gave me a form to fill out.
Why do I need to justify the repairs needed, what is the extended warranty for? We call, report the defect and courts should fix it.
Very very disappointed, would advice friends and maybe even post it on social media so that future buyer would be aware of Courts after sales services and practices.
Poor After Sales Service Inv 9281000108875
I ordered a TV Console which was delivered on the 21st Nov 2023. The delivery staff who did the installation was very dishonest and did a poor job. He did a quick installation and was anxious to leave. I observed he did the task in super quick time and when I asked if everything is done , he replied with a ok and handed me a phone for me to sign. I signed in good faith trusting him entirely. But after he left, I checked and realised two of the three glass doors of the console were not fitted properly and were not in alignment.
A report was lodged on the same day by contacting the customer service staff (who was quite helpful) who requested me to wait for 2-3 days. I called after 2 days later on the status and was assured the relevant dept will be looking it. Unfortunately, no response was received even after 7 days.
I do not think Courts is reliable and would not consider buying from it anymore.
Unprofessional customer service
Once you bought a product's must buy extended warranty, if not you will sure regret because my experience bought cash LG 3-room split Aircon black color only last 1 year, after which continues breakdown, customer service hotline is a telemarketing, not useful wait for courts to call back 3 days, by the time you will suffer more,The Court staff unprofessional, the management don't care about customer service, it's like you bought your problems.
Don't waste time and money for Courts superstore products.
My conclusion don't buy any LG Aircon system, you will be regretting your entire life, and don't ever step into courts superstore.
I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction with the services provided by Courts SG
I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction with the services provided by your company in relation to a recent incident involving my air conditioning unit. My experience, which occurred on October 24th, has left me extremely disappointed and frustrated.
On the aforementioned date, I reported a malfunction in my air conditioning unit, and your service staff promptly arrived to address the issue. I was initially relieved by the prompt response and expected a swift resolution, especially since I have a warranty on the unit until 2025.
However, just ten minutes after the staff had supposedly fixed the problem, the air conditioning compressor exploded, causing significant damage to the unit and rendering it inoperable. The subsequent events have only compounded my disappointment.
It was not until October 26th that your team returned to my residence to remove the damaged compressor, leaving us without any air conditioning for an extended period, which has now reached a week. The situation is exacerbated by the fact that we are in the middle of a warm season, and the discomfort we've experienced is quite unbearable.
I have been diligently following up on the status of the replacement compressor by contacting your customer service department. To my astonishment, my calls have been repeatedly cut short, and I've been given contradictory promises regarding updates. Initially, I was told that I would receive an update by Tuesday, October 31st, but this was subsequently changed to Friday, November 2nd. This inconsistency in communication is both unprofessional and exasperating.
Moreover, it is worth noting that your technicians have visited my home on three or more occasions this year alone, which is highly unusual for a product under warranty. This frequent need for service raises questions about the quality and reliability of the equipment provided by your company.
I firmly believe that the level of service I have received is unacceptable and does not reflect the quality that your company should stand for. I demand immediate attention to this matter, the expedited delivery of the replacement compressor, and a clear explanation for the repeated issues with my air conditioning unit. I expect a swift resolution to this matter that aligns with the terms of my warranty.
If these issues are not resolved to my satisfaction, I will be forced to explore alternative actions to protect my consumer rights. I trust that this situation can be rectified promptly, and I look forward to a positive response from your company.
CUSTOMER IS TOLD THAT STAFF IS NOT HERE TO LISTEN TO CUSTOMERS RUBBISH
To:
HIROSHI NOJIMA SAN – Group CEO of Courts Asia Pacific
MR. ALVIN TAN – General Manager, Courts Singaproe Pte Ltd.
Reference:
The actual words used by your delivery staff to me,
“I am not here to listen to your rubbish!”
Tax Invoice: 80701000008042
Date: 28 Oct 2023
Dear Hiroshi San and Mr. Tan,
The sequence of events that took place today are as follows:
11:15 am
Today I receive first call informing me of an impending delivery. I acknowledge that I will be home.
11: 45 am
Delivery has arrived in the cargo delivery area on my condo. The crew is at the B5 Loading Bay.
I point out that from my condo unit there is no loading bay at B5. Probably they are on B4, as this belongs to the Edition Hotel, I suggest this repeatedly to your representative.
I attempt suggesting that an easier means would be to drive topside to Level 1 where I could arrange for direct access at ground level.
The reason for the suggestion is because residents have no access to B3, B4 and B6 whatsoever.
I am interrupted incessantly with insistence I come down.
I agree and clarify if they are on B4 or B5 and am informed by your rep he is on B5 with an insistent inuendo proviso that they are in the loading area (meaning they are not on B5!)
11:55 pm and 15 truncated calls ensue.
I am in B5 searching and cannot locate delivery team. Across 15 truncated calls I am told repeatedly that they are at the loading bay and that I need to listen to them?
Why the continual insistence to prove he is correct and self-righted (is a Typical Lame Singaporean Trait), even in the face of not resolving a situation.
I am further admonished in words of your deliveryman, “I have made other deliveries to this address previously and I am correct in this arrival destination”.
There is very limited reception in B5, and I am accused of hanging up on the crew.
12:20 pm
Having to locate an off-site security personnel to give me access to B4 which is the hotels secured floors. I arrive in B4.
My initial words are, “I have no access to this floor, and this is the hotels delivery location not the condominiums”.
The rebuttal that ensues incorporates a dammed insistence that he is correct and that I am incorrect and that I do not know the procedures.
I question how it is that no security personnel are with him, and his reply is that he has done this before. In fact, the crew had not even exchanged id’s for passes and made it to B4.
The reason there was no security personnel with him was this:
- No issue of passes occurred on entry.
- The security personnel from the Edition Hotel will not have jurisdiction to Boulevard88 Residency and will not escort him to the residences.
This is the classic Singaporean Dunning Kruger Complex – Singaporean’s Do Not Know What They Do Not Know.
At this point, I say to your representative that logically, he should just follow my instructions as I would know better as I live here. Your representative’s reply is classic,
“I AM NOT HERE TO LISTEN TO YOUR RUBBISH!”
At this point I walk off, with clear instructions given to your logistics coordinator back at your office that I will not give access or permit this lot of individuals access into my home.
The coordinator has called back to advise that they now require a smaller vehicle to do the delivery to the residency’s access through B4. I wonder why? (Sarcasm is intended).
The delivery will now take place tomorrow and with a totally different team (the latter is on my insistence). This is totally unsatisfactory in my opinion as I would have very much appreciated installation today.
Hopefully, your General Manager Mr. Alvin Tan, will care to elaborate and manage this first and last purchase I will execute with Courts Singapore Pte Ltd.
Yours sincerely,
Mr. M Williams
