Not worth the money. Manual’s are really hard to understand and repetitive, you can tell they are AI generated, so are the MCQS, some of them don’t even make sense. The seminars are not helpful, very basic and LLB like - should be based more around the SQE and how we may see it come up in the exam rather than just explain the basic law to us again. 13 week course with the expectation of two sub units a day, as well as scheduled classes - very unrealistic expectation, no one can do that - a better more realistic schedule should be set out for students to follow. Summative was also scheduled really early on - no time to revise or catch up on the content. Should’ve been scheduled for later on in early January.

Really useful course in preparation for the SQE1. The materials were aligned to the spec quite tightly so there was a lot that I didn't need to revise in the same way for the LLM so there wasn't so much overwhelm of material. The practice tests were great too and really helped me hone in on my weak areas ahead of the exams. Compared to the SQE1 questions, where the SQE were a 9/10 in difficulty, the COLP were often a 7 or 8/10 so quite closely aligned to what you could potentially see on the day.

Brilliant course-all online; supportive and talented teachers. Far cheaper than other institutions yet high quality. Can complete GDL in 5 months full time. Clear resources.

I had a very positive experience studying the Graduate Diploma in Law with the College. The programme was well structured and provided a strong foundation in core legal principles. The teaching staff were knowledgeable and supportive, and the course materials were clear and practical.

What I particularly appreciated was the flexibility of the programme, which allowed me to manage my studies while balancing other commitments. The College also provided helpful guidance and resources for students looking to progress to the next stage of legal qualification.

Overall, it was a valuable learning experience that prepared me well for the next step in my legal career.

Great College, Excellent Law School! It is an amazing place to study the SQE 1& 2, trust me, it is seriously underrated! A trial will convince you!

I recently completed the GDL through COLP. Although part-time, the course is very fast-paced and requires a significant amount of independent study. The weekly reading requirements are extensive; however, the materials provided are relevant and engaging. The GDL manual supplied by the college is thorough, concise, and invaluable when completing assignments.

The workload during the assignment period is particularly heavy - completing six assignments within a four-week period is challenging, and I do question how students who work full time manage this.

The course itself is very flexible, and I was able to study around my personal commitments. That said, I think many students would benefit from later workshop times, as these were consistently scheduled during the working day. Although I rarely attended live sessions, I found that (most) staff were easy to contact and responsive to questions.

Kathryn, the course leader, is fantastic. She is very knowledgeable, approachable, and clearly has a genuine desire to see students succeed.

Overall, I would recommend COLP and will be returning to study the LLM.

The course overall I think is great it gives you enough information to pass the SQE. However, I will say (because I did the part time course) that it is not very accommodating or helpful for people doing the course part time. I think either the duration of the course for part time students should increase or the resources available especially the module workshops should be prerecorded rather than live to give a chance to part time students to raise questions as well. The lectures were mostly during working ours therefore not giving a chance to part time students to ask questions too like the rest. Moreover I will also say there needs to be a Question Bank for students to practice more. The MCQs that were provided were not enough to practice as much as possible for the MCQs.

It covers the entire syllabus for the SQE Exam and gives you over 2036 MCQS you can review again and again. Hard progressive mocks. There could be a bit more mock 90s or a couple of full length mocks though as most MCQs are the 10 at the end of each sub unit. There are only 440 MCQ total in the mocks for each FLK actually under time pressure like the real exam. I would like a bit more certainty and confidence by longer and more mocks for an uncertain exam -which seems more like a LSAT logic games/reading test than measuring actual competence or knowledge of law.

My experience as a student at The College of Legal Practice has been exceptional. The SQE 1 preparation course is incredibly comprehensive and well structured, making a demanding qualification feel manageable and clearly mapped out. The resources provided are invaluable, especially Spectrum, which offers support during stressful periods and genuinely helps you stay grounded and focused.

What sets The College of Legal Practice apart is that they do not operate like a typical business-to-consumer provider. Instead, they show that they truly care for their students as individuals, not just as consumers. The level of personal support is outstanding. Your supervisor checks in with you both individually and in group sessions, creating an interactive space to discuss progress, challenges and goals. This is followed by practice tests and an initial mock exam, which provides a realistic indication of your readiness.

Overall, it has been an amazing experience, and I look forward to continuing my SQE journey with them. Bev and her wonderful team are a true asset to The College of Legal Practice, and their support has made a meaningful difference to my confidence and development.

My experience with this institution's LLM programme and its associated SQE preparation course was deeply disappointing and fell drastically short of the academic and professional standards one would expect. I urge prospective students to consider this review a serious warning.

The programme is plagued by several critical and systemic failings:

Substandard Course Materials: The provided manuals and academic texts are of an unacceptable quality, replete with factual inaccuracies, spelling mistakes, and grammatical errors. They lack the professional proofreading and academic rigour required for postgraduate legal study.

Perfunctory and Contradictory Feedback: Feedback from academic staff is consistently superficial and unconstructive. It is common to receive generic praise such as "great job," only for the final grade to be inexplicably low, with no substantive critique provided to justify the mark or guide improvement.

Chronic Administrative Disorganisation: The academic schedule is in a constant state of flux. Manuals, lecture times, and feedback seminar dates are changed frequently and at the last minute, rendering any personal or professional planning impossible. This administrative chaos demonstrates a profound lack of respect for students' time and commitments.

Compromised Academic Integrity: The assessment criteria for a core module were altered at the very end of the term. This unannounced, retroactive change to the grading framework is a serious breach of academic fairness and transparency.

Fundamentally Inadequate SQE Preparation: The SQE preparation module is not fit for purpose. The content and methodology bear little resemblance to the actual Solicitors Qualifying Examination, leaving students ill-prepared and at a significant disadvantage.

Persistent Operational Failures: The programme's disorganisation extends to its basic technical delivery. As I write this, a scheduled assessment has failed to become accessible fifteen minutes past its official start time, which is just one of many such occurrences.

In summary, the programme feels less like a rigorous academic endeavour and more like a poorly executed commercial enterprise. The significant tuition fees are in no way justified by the quality of education, administration, or support provided. This has not been a sound investment of time or money. I would strongly advise prospective students to seek their legal education elsewhere.

Staff and lecturers are all extremely pleasant to deal with. The course content is fantastic and very high quality. Definitely helped me achieve my SQE2 and become a qualified solicitor! I had to pause my studies and switch from FT to PT during my studies; the College was extremely accommodating and communicated everything very clearly regarding start dates, fees, and everything else. As a tri-qualified lawyer (England & Wales, Scotland, USA), I personally vouch for and recommend the College of Legal Practice for anyone seeking to qualify as a solicitor who wants to be prepared not only for the SQE 1 and 2 exams, but also for practice.

Fantastic experience. I really enjoyed the whole programme. The flexibility around attendance was invaluable for me as someone working full time, making the GDL genuinely manageable alongside professional commitments (at times working up to 80 hours a week). The support is excellent from academic guidance to pastoral care, you always feel set up to succeed. The staff are not only knowledgeable but also passionate about what they do, which makes a real difference.

I cannot recommend the LLM course highly enough. The support throughout this program has been absolutely exceptional, and I honestly couldn't have completed it without the incredible team.

Special mention must go to Nabeala, Beverley, and Sajida - simply amazing! These three made all the difference to my academic journey.
