Dreadful company ordered stove paint for my fire, over a week later still not delivered. Found out later that I could have purchased a lot cheaper locally. Spoke to a snotty receptionist who told me I... Mehr ansehen

I've purchased two Clearview stoves and can't fault them.
I've purchased two Clearview stoves, direct from the manufacturer, in the last 10 years and have had really good service before and after the sales. The information available on the website comes from people who know what they're doing. The stoves are top notch and perform very well in houses that only use solid fuel heat. They were pricey but you get what you pay for, the quality is excellent. I would definitely buy from Clearview again.
Wish I had read these reviews before I brought
Wish I had read these reviews before I brought. Stove was promised for delivery, Fitter was in place for this date. Stove was delivered to store and not me, had to wait another week for delivery - more unpaid time off work. Due to lateness lost slot with installer. Woman on phone very rude, wrote to complaint over a month ago, not even the courtesy of a reply. Am thinking a costly mistake and wondering about after sales service. Salesman in shop, so pleasant and helpful at first, not so now. So disappointed.
Very dissatisfied Retailer
As a stove company we have been selling Clearview Stoves for 3.5 years now.
We have now decided to part company with them due to the very poor and rude customer service we have had from these over that time.
I paid in full for 3 Stoves back in April and still waiting to arrive, our customers have contacted them as well to see if they can get any idea when they will arrive as there Installation Dates are having to be changed.
James the owner promised these would be with us on Monday of this week, then the driver said it would not be until Tuesday NOW we have just received a call to say they won’t be with us now until Wednesday as apparently the stoves were not upto standard🤣
Please who ever is considering purchasing a Clearview Stove think again as I can tell you they are not Eco Ready and there are certainly better stoves out there then Clearview.
I really think the staff need to seriously have some more customer service training on how to speak to people and JAMES needs to stop lying to his customers as well!!!
Absolutely appalling after sales service
Absolutely appalling after sales service, to say they couldn’t care less is an understatement. We have two stoves in our cottage, the stoves are great until you need spares, which they invariably do. Broken promises about stock and delivery. We have now purchased aftermarket spares as Clearview let us down. I will have both stoves removed next summer and replaced with something else. The lady on the phone tuts and sighs and has the worst customer attitude I have ever encountered from someone in her position.
The top product and service provided by Clearview
I happened to trip over the reviews below and was amazed there were so many negative comments about Clearview, amongst the more predictable positive ones.
Over the past ten years I have purchased four Clearview stoves, namely two Vision 500 models, plus a 650 and a 750. In all my dealings I have been treated and dealt with courteously and professionally. Perhaps during Covid there may have been supply issues, I wouldn’t know.
In my most recent dealings the staff in the Stow on the Wold shop have been exceptionally helpful and I feel obliged to advise the readers of this review to acknowledge that Clearview have for many years been a premium brand, and they are still are.
Having read reviews about poor customer…
Having read reviews about poor customer service after I ordered and received a replacement glass for my Vison 500 in LESS THAN 24 HOURS I was very surprised.
It does appear that the website is no longer live so maybe emails won't get through either, a phone call was answered within 2 rings though.
The wood burner was installed in 2017 and has been reliable throughout so long as you use the correct fuel as another reviewer stated
Quite Simply The Best Woodburners In The World!!
I read with intrest all the negative reviews about clearview stoves questionable I feel???
we have owned our pioneer 400 stove for 8 years my father has had his for 15 years I have a plethora of woodburner & chimney experience through my work over the last 27 years, quite simply once you buy a clearview it will last you a lifetime a clearview stove will outlast its owner "you die with a clearview"!!! they are so easy to operate ours will burn 24/7 (ours has been lit for 4 weeks) they burn minimal wood the bottom line is, buy from a reputable dealer have it properly installed and buy decent well dried wood (not the crap from garage forecourts & some DIY stores) and enjoy it other makes of stove may say they do this & do that & maybe look more swish but the proofs in the stove if you buy something else you will just end up "oh I wish ide bought a clearview"
buy one you won't look back
Terrible service
Like most reviews still waiting for missing grate 6 months after purchase,
Called clear view several times only to be spoken to rather rudely by customer services
Really not ideal for a supposed quality stove
AVOID BUYING FROM THIS COMPANY
Unfortunately same experience as the other 1 star reviews. Purchased wood burner in JULY, wasn’t informed of the missing grate until after installation, never dreamed we’d STILL be waiting for the missing part all these months later. NO updates from the company absolutely awful and shocking business conduct
Shocking service
Almost a year after buying a stove and multiple messages ignored we still do not have a grate to make the stove burn properly. Absolute shower of a company. Go elsewhere
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!!!
After umpteen phone calls, left messages, and chaser emails, I have still not been able to order a product from this company. And having now seen the reviews I won't be bothering.
With the exception of one, late evening, conversation with "James", every person with whom I spoke had a serious attitude towards me. It was as if I'd interrupted their day, and I ought to apologise.
Something has gone dreadfully wrong within the company to make everyone have such a poor manner with a potential customer. They must be the Wong Kei's of Stoves!!!!
Since the conversation with "James" he has neither responded to left messages or chaser emails - And apparently, he is the only person I can talk to regarding my sales enquiry.
A huge disappointment, because I was told they used to be the best - 20 Years ago.
Clearview customer service is non-existent???
I have contacted Clearviews technical enquiry page now twice, sending photographs of the problem… still waiting after six weeks for a reply. I bought the same model (Pioneer 400) 7 yrs ago…. No problems with it at all. This one I have had countless problems with. Something has gone very wrong with what use to be a well trusted British brand.
Terrible Customer Service
I can only agree with other posts on this page. Having purchased a Pioneer 400 in August, I found out at the end of installation that the grate was missing, and told sorry but you can only burn wood using the fitted temporary steel plate until the grate arrives from the new supplier. In August, this obviously didn't matter, but since we now use the stove it is both inconvenient and messy to clear the stove of ashes. Other than a nice lady at the factory, (who did take my call), no one from the sales side of the company, (including James the owner director), will speak to me, or return my numerous e-mails requesting a response. I understand from the nice lady at the factory, that their old supplier stopped making grates for them and they are trying to source a new one from Germany. I appreciate we are in testing times at the moment, and life for reasons we all understand is difficult and different today, but come on Clearview, just a conversation with your loyal customers on this issue is the least we all deserve having spent several hundreds of pounds with you. Having had Clearview stoves for many years in various properties, I am a fan, and love the product. However, I feel let down that I have been sold a product that is not fit for purpose, ( i.e not a multi-fuel stove ). This episode has seriously tainted my view of the company, and in future will look at alternative brands, assuming of course that we will be allowed to use them in future !!! Sorry Clearview, but if I could have given you zero stars for customer service, then I would have !!!!!
Misleading
They are selling stoves knowing full well that they will be delivered with a piece MISSING, which they are not disclosing to customers until after delivery. We didn’t know about it until the fitter told us in September 2021, just as he was walking out of the door. We ordered the fire in July. The stove will still work, but the bottom grill plates are not currently being manufactured and now there are many new customers who cannot riddle the ash through to the ash box. We are really disappointed and feel mislead, from the point of sale onwards. I am now worried that with the 2022 regulations looming, Clearview might cease trading and we will never have our missing piece. BUYER BEWARE!
Clearview customer service has gone…
Clearview customer service has gone downhill; phoned up and ordered a spare part for my Pioneer and 3 weeks later no sign of it. Have phoned several times to chase it up but they sound as if they couldn’t care less. Something has gone very wrong there as they used to be a well trusted brand. Not any more.
load of rubbish
Bought and paid for a Clearview stove in the summer; still waiting for a missing grate. Buying a Clearview stove has just meant buying hassle. Wish I'd bought any other make instead.
Appalling customer service - avoid!
Like other reviewers, we chose Clearview Stoves because of the product - expensive but quality. We bought from Walkers Stoves in Burford (where the customer service was excellent). However, we had to wait months for the stove to be installed because it was out of stock. When it did arrive it was missing the grate because they had a supply issue (again). I'm still waiting for the missing grate and for Clearview to actually return my calls (James at Clearview please pick up the phone and call me or if the MD reads these reviews feel free to call too). Given the price they charge for their products I would expect better. Will never purchase again from them.
The best stoves but the very worst customer service!
Fantastic stoves, the very best and I wish we had got one years ago!
Awful, just awful customer service. It started ok, we went to Stow on the Wold to buy and collect a stove, and had a really wonderful interaction with the guy there. Bit weird that he didn't have a credit card machine there, or that I could not pay via PayPal. I felt quite exposed with him reading out my card details to someone at their head office but let it go.
Then we needed a flue as ours would not fit and the woman on the phone said that we may need a collar, and if I ordered it and didn't need it, I could return it for a refund.
We didn't need the collar as our exisitng one fitted.
We returned the collar with a note asking for a refund. Around 3-4 weeks later I got a call, telling me I could have a credit note or a refund minus 20%. I felt this was unfair terms and said so, asked to speak to the owner and was told he was not available. I asked when he would be free and please could he call me. The day came and nothing - no call. 2 weeks elapsed. I had already contacted Citizens Advice who had passed this practice onto Trading Standards. They assured me that I was within my rights to get a full refund.
I raised a dispute with my credit card company and about 2 weeks later, a cheque for the full amount arrived.
It would have been so simple to have just done this in the first place.
Always use a credit card!
Best Stoves - Best Service!
We visited the Stow-on-the-Wold store today to pick up a new pane of glass for our Vision 500, along with rope kits for the door and glass. What an experience!! From the moment we entered, we received nothing but warm, friendly and incredibly helpful service. He was fully devoted to not just selling, but genuinely offering some great advise as we are new to stove ownership. Thank you!
Customer service leaves something to be…
Customer service leaves something to be desired.
Not a very friendly company to deal with, in fact I would go as far as saying that their manner is quite rude and unhelpful.
I wish I had picked this up before making my purchase with them, so think again.
