The BPA is a union that represents the Private Car Parking, Industry. There is a lot to be said about this organisation in the way that it represents it's paying members. Private Car Park operators pay the BPA to become accredited. That means, it allows the private car park operators to obtain keeper details from the DVLA. over the years and present intervention to stop their members, car park operators from abusing their codes of practice has failed to such a level their is a DRAFT copy of the new parking bill yet to be released. The Government needed to step in and stop these private operators from mugging of the innocent motorist and whilst that was the BPA job to supervise and stop bad methods it failed. The intellect of staff at the BPA and those who work for private car park operators is one of distrust. Media has been a good point of data to understand why the BPA actually turns away from complaints made by the public about operators who are either not following the code or practice or are simply breaching their own rules in order to make money in a cheating way. The BPA had the audacity to block a local politician because they would make comments when the information given by the BPA was inaccurate. This lead to the BPA blocking this elected official who saw the wrongdoing within this organisation. Many people have now taken to Twitter to tweet against the BPA but the BPA who are now under a new president that is supposedly is sorting the BPA out is himself distance from dealing with complaints. Many people leave reviews without substance but if you need to make an opinion know then make it comprehensive as best as you can. There are many live examples of bad methods being used today that have been reported in one local newspaper in West Sussex whereby a private operator that had no planning permission or advertising consent still continued to sent out fines to a magnitude of not informing the county court. This was passed on to their union, BPA and they did nothing.

BPA are not fit for purpose
Appealed to them for help regarding a charge from Parking Eye at North Tees Hospital where the machines were out of order so I couldn’t pay.
They simply take the side of Parking Eye and I now have to pay £145 or go to court next month.
The law in this country is stacked entirely in favour of these corrupt parking cowboys.
BPA are as bad as the parking rogues they represent!

If there was a minus star, they would win -5. Parked in car park at South street, Bromley 15 minutes before the 6:30pm expiring of parking restrictions throughout the Borough. Paid for 20 minutes, got charged double the amount on the sign. Still received a ticket. Why? They charge for parking there 24 hours per day. But the signage does not clearly say that. I went back after 8pm to check why I received a ticket because there is no way to contact them other than if you are intending to pay. Arrived just in time to save another couple who assumed that it was free to park after 6:30pm like everywhere else locally. Deliberate SCAM. They should post clearly marked signs to say parking applies 24 hours per day in their carpark.

Absolutely atrocious. Have no sense of principle or value towards the public. Fraudulent ring of scammers masquerading as reputable and fair partnerships. I hope for the worst for these people.

Worst company ! I hope one day there is justice against these scams and POPLA are as bad who stand by these parking company’s. The systems corrupt and POPLA obviously get paid in favour of wins. What a disgraceful country we live in.
I parked in a car park, drove out 20 mins later. Then went back into the car park 2.5 hours later and the company are saying my car was parked for 5 hours on that car park! They lie to get money with their fraudulent cameras. POPLA will not accept witness statements even off teachers at my sons school.
Money grabbing con artists, I’ve boycotted the shops in the car park hopefully more people will.

Appalling company who obviously gains some income from the parking companies they are supposed to supervise. I had paid for my parking and provided a ticket but apparently this was not sufficient to prove and they agreed with Smart Parking and declined my appeal. Please do not pretend to be impartial when it is clear that you will always side with the parking companies. Disgusting.

'Shame' unto the BPA, and its associated parking bodies, my wife was in need of a 'paint' of water to take some tablets at Speke Retail Park in Liverpool.
Having arrived at the park bay adjacently opposite M&S supermarket, I had go through an ordeal to be able to position my car in a single bay because of the awkward way the car in the next bay on my left had parked.
I had only 5 minutes to compress all my transaction activities in M&S because the shop was closing.
Literally I spent less than five minutes and got the water for wife, to take her tablets only to told in couple of weeks that my parking position was inappropriate. Hence I have been fined £100 for that short stay.
Are these parking bodies employing the 'robbing Peter to pay Paul' rules. This is cruel and some of their unscrupulous tactics of the parking crooks must be bought to book.
I had wish there was a -1 STAR was an option, I will have ticked it in a great hurry.

I would like to use this platform to complain about the absolutely dispicable parking fine I have recieved.
Let me explain the circumstances.
My 7 week old daughter was with my mother and taken to the local surgery following an illness.
The practice did not have any parking available and neither did the local vacinity in town, so i had no choice but to park further away and park in a car park run by Britannia Parking. Given the circumstances my Aim was to get to my daughter at the practice as fast as I could. On CCTV it shows that I left the car park without my daughter and returned with her and my mother in tow.
A week later, I recieved a lovely parking fine for £100.00 which was discounted to £60.00 if I paid within 14 days of the date of issue.
How is this even fair? I thought to myself. In a genuine emergancy which my main focus was to get to my young daughter and i’m being asked to pay £60!.
Which parent is going to even think to pay for a parking ticket when their child has been taken to a surgery in a medical emergancy?
NONE is your answer to that question.
So, I sent an appeal to Britannia Parking explaining my situation and offered to pay for the parking for the time I was there and of course it was rejected.
I have appealed to POPLA and am awaiting their response.
I have written this review to express how upset I am that I have recieved this fine under these circumstances.

Corrupt System.
How can the BPA ever be fair and impartial when dealing with the parking operators (their members) & the consumer when the parking operators pay the BPA a fee to be a member? I've been struggling to get any help from the BPA regarding a false parking fine against me and the disgusting way the parking operator is treating me why would the BPA help me I don't pay them to be a member that is why! Think about it why would the BPA want to cause problems for their paying members and risk them leaving this is why they clearly show bias towards the parking operator and not the consumer the whole system is corrupt!
I outlined clear evidence to the BPA that it's member was in breach of 8 rules that the parking operator is supposed abide by to be a member and what did they do nothing just danced around the issue!
The main point of my parking fine is that the parking operator is saying I left the car park late and they caught me on their ANPR machine. I am convinced the time stamps on the ANPR machine are incorrect and this happened in this car park before and the story was in the local paper which I showed the BPA. The vehicle I was driving is my work vehicle that has a tracker built in which is extremely accurate even reports on things like harsh cornering and braking and I provided the BPA a copy of the report showing in fact I did not leave the 15 minutes late the parking operator is claiming I did.
I've been through the parking operators appeal process and POPLA and although I have provided clear evidence I didn't leave late in the form of the vehicle tracker report POPLA also showed bias towards the parking operator as well. Also the parking operator has to pay POPLA for the cases so again I am not surprised POPLA is biased towards the parking operators.
I phoned both BPA and POPLA to complain of the unfair and biased way I have been treated and was told by both organisations to email them and they would look at this.10 days later and 4 chasing emails and I have been completely ignored they haven't even acknowledged they are looking into the matter.
I have no other option now but to request that the parking operator take me to court as the organisations BPA and POPLA that are supposed to keep this whole process fair for the consumer refuse to help. I am just glad I have the money to fight this legally but I really feel for anyone in this situation who is unable to fight this.
Don't give up if you've got a parking ticket and you are innocent contact your local MP, local news paper and badger the BPA and POPLA over and over because if more people don't start doing this then the corrupt system will never be fixed.
