Awful, shady company. I ordered despite poor reviews because they were the only store in stock. Turns out that was a lie. After weeks of waiting, I submitted cancelation requests and emailed to cancel. Months later, they shipped the item and charged my cars unexpected and are treated the situation as though I'm a fault.

i recently purchased items online and they are late and the one THAT HAS CAME is damaged. I went into local BAM and was shocked that they are selling the damaged ones in store as well. The boxes are complete trash. something needs to be done .

The Books-A-Million website is a straight up scam. I was definitely scammed out of my money. When I went to order a book, it didn't say anywhere on the website that it was out of stock. After purchasing it, I was notified that it was on back order... when I tried to cancel my order, I couldn't get into my account. I tried resetting my password about 5 times, and it kept saying it didn't recognize my login information, or just straight up wouldn't load. Finally, I was able to get into my account a week later (by this time I still hadn't received any notice of when my order would even ship) and I couldn't cancel my order because it was "pending". I bought the book from Barnes and Noble and it's arriving by Friday so I really need my order cancelled, but I can't get ahold of customer service. I've sent so many emails. It's a straight up scam, do not order from this website. I really wish I looked at these reviews, Books-A-Million is lying to customers about the status of books because if I knew the one I ordered was out of stock, I wouldn't have ordered it. It's been such a headache, I just want my order cancelled.

I ordered 3 books from here and after looking at the reviews. I got a bit worried but they actually delivered all of them. 1 of them took longer but It tells you why and Im pretty happy with it I don't know why it has so many negative reviews. Its mostly just waiting but they will keep you updated with emails.

Ordered a book set with a total of $171. The website said it was available but late the day after the order was placed I got an email saying that the item was back ordered and that it will take from either 5 business days to 2-4 weeks to ship out. They only give you a 30 minute window to change or cancel an order so I called the next day (they are only open for calls 12-5 central time zone) and sat on hold for 5+ minutes after the machine said I was third in que and should only be on hold for 1 minute. The actual call, once I got someone, was only about 1 minute where I cancelled my order and got my money back, they said it would take a few days for me to receive my money even though it wasn’t even charged to my card yet only processing. This was my first and last time ordering from this website and company.

Orders a book that said it was in stock and still hasn’t shipped for me, been waiting a while but I get no email or anything the customer service is trash .doesn’t even let me cancel the dam order .Never use this website

I ordered a book on their website that they said was in stock. I was charged shipping and the price of the book. The next day, I received an email that the book is backordered. Why don't they disclose that it is a backordered item book to began with and a time frame up front. There are no cancelations to your order at all. That is a shady and dishonest way of doing business. Very disappointed.

I ordered some Loungefly Backpacks from them on a PREORDER, all other people that have ordered their same Backpacks from elsewhere gave gotten theirs weeks ago. Shady company obviously they sell items they are not getting. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM

Horrible company! I ordered a book in Feb as a gift for someone. End of March, still haven’t received the book or any notices why. I emailed customer service and received a generic response saying “ unable to reach the company, sorry but not able to help you”.
They had no problems IMMEDIATELY accepting my credit card!

Hmm I was thinking of ordering a book from here but these reviews are awful.so no. You can get your money back if you don’t receive your order (or the wrong order)but you need to call your bank inform them what is going on now and call again every week or 2 so they have notes of this ( get a name or reference # from who you talk to at the bank) The Bank Is always on your side ( mine is anyway) even if it’s in pending status forever it will eventually be taken out of your acct ( from what I’ve read I don’t think bnm will refund it) screen shot or copy any emails from this place . If you spent a lot of money you can have the bank cancel it and block the company from trying to take anything from your acct. it’s $30.00 ( from my experience the bank will refund your money from “ good faith” and then they deal with the company, you might have to send the bank the emails , “evidence “ Ect. But yes do not give up you can most definitely get your money back...

Ordered very expansive book - $200+ and it is in backorder status now and obviously cannot arrive on time. If you try to cancel the order - this will never happen. You can't even cancel the payment as it stuck in pending status forever. Say bye-bye to your money if your book is out of print...

Positive: I found two books that I couldn't find anywhere. Negative: They didn't ship my order for about three weeks. I requested a cancellation. I sent two emails, used their form, called their number. I never got a response but they promptly created a shipping label right after my first cancellation request.

Some people are obsessed with shoes. As a high school English teacher, I am obsessed with books. If I EVER get my books, I will NEVER EVER order from BAM again. My order has been marked Pending for weeks. I can no longer cancel my order. The books I ordered 2 months ago were a gift. I have since ordered them from Barnes and Noble and they have been delivered!

Ordered a box set and it immediately said back ordered it said that for a month so I decided to call (btw they have no way to contact them off of there website I had to go to Reddit for their number) and they told me it was out of stock which they should of had on the item before I actually bought it but they told me they were getting a new shipment in in a couple of weeks and I was next in line , so I was satisfied at least I was gonna get my product or that’s what I thought until this morning when I got an email saying the order was canceled ! I would not recommend this place at all it honestly just feels like a huge scam

It took a month to receive a response, that was not personalized. You already broke your ridiculous deadline. Your business model is fraudulent. You know damn sure, if you would come clear to customers before they would authorize you to charge them, that you are going to take months to fulfill the order, no one would ever buy from you.

Hi, I posted a review here a while ago and thought I should give an update. Basically, I ordered a book set from them back on Christmas Day and nothing ever arrived. I got a few emails claiming the item was "backordered" but never received any form of update as to when it would arrive. Now they've emailed me saying my order is cancelled and it seems I havent been refunded. Do not bother with this company even if you are desperate for whatever book you're looking for.

I bought three books and a beautiful calendar. I wanted to return one of the small books. I emailed twice to get a return by mail label, and never got a response. I have now called twice and not gotten through, despite it being business hours. I am deeply disappointed with this BAM, and I will never order from them again. I suggest Thrift Books, Barnes and Noble, truly any other company!

If I could give zero stars I would. Buying from inside a store is not an issue... however I ordered 3 books one said in stock, two others said limited, EXACTLY a month ago... literally as soon as I ordered I received an email saying the books were backordered...however at the time I didn't think anything of it, since I paid .90 extra per book to have them ship when they were available, I figured the one that said in stock would ship.. and the others a few weeks later.. however I have received NOTHING. I have emailed a few times asking about my books.. I have never received a reply. I will NOT be spending my money with this company ever again. I wish I would have read reviews first.. HORRIBLE COMPANY!! I will be taking my money to Barnes and Noble.

Books a Million sucks! No communication! Horrible Customer Service! Ordered a book that showed it was available. Immediately got an e-mail that said it was backordered. I waited two weeks and never heard anything more. I sent an e-mail asking what the status of the book was because I was going to order it somewhere else. Never received a response! Got a bounce back e-mail. I sent another e-mail from their site and asked them to cancel the order. Within two days they sent me an e-mail that the book was on it's way to me! Unbelievable! Horrible Place! Don't Use!!!
