Immediate delivery of my tap. I didn't't pay the extra to have my tap delivered earlier, I didn't need to. The tap was delivered early the following day.

The three mirrored bathroom cabinet was delivered promptly, ready assembled and in perfect condition. I removed the doors in order to hang it on the wall, using the simple but effective fixings supplied. The doors went back on easily with their 'self closing' hinges, and I would recommend this cabinet to anyone.

Had to arrange for a replacement tap and the service excellent - thanks to Lauren.

This review is based on five years’ experience with the Milano Elizabeth range in brushed brass/gold, purchased from and primarily distributed by Big Bathroom Shop.

I purchased an in-wall shower system, rain shower head and separate hand shower with adjustable arm, as well as taps, toilet handles and other fittings, in 2021 and had everything professionally installed. Since day one, I have experienced numerous issues with both the function and finish of these products.

The shower mixer valve, which relies on a fragile plastic insert to stop it turning indefinitely, has broken twice and required replacement. More importantly, however, is the finish.

The range is advertised as solid brass with a brushed brass finish. What is not made clear is that the brushed brass appearance comes from a thin, lacquered layer over a silver-coloured substrate. The core may be brass, but the visible layers above it are not. The listings state: “Hard-wearing brushed brass finish - will not chip, tarnish or fade.” In my experience, this is simply untrue.

No matter how delicately the fittings are cleaned, using cleaners and sponges specifically chosen not to damage them, the brass finish begins to wear away within 1–2 years. On the adjustable shower arm, for example, the area underneath the grip has turned completely silver simply through water ingress. The brass finish is fading in numerous places; the bath drain has gradually lost its brass effect altogether and is now almost entirely silver.

Some of this is undoubtedly aggravated by limescale, but a bathroom product sold in the UK really ought to be capable of withstanding hard water. I would strongly urge anyone considering brushed-brass fittings to install a water softener. The shower hose in particular is almost impossible to clean properly without also stripping away some of the brass/gold colour.

There have been plenty of mechanical issues too. Screws and bolts regularly work loose, causing handles and other components to come apart. Plumber’s tape helps, but then makes the fittings more difficult to disassemble when required. Even with the screws tightened, the shower and basin controls feel loose and wobbly.

I am now left with a bathroom full of fittings that look rather like someone has tried to repaint old, wobbly silver hardware in brass. It is a real shame given how much the products and professional installation cost, and how expensive and disruptive it would now be to strip everything out and rectify it properly.

In fairness, whenever I have had the time or inclination to contact BBS about replacement parts that I can swap myself, they have been provided free of charge. That is the reason for the second star.

Colour doesn’t match advertised. I had already paid £6.99 for delivery I then had to pay again to send back. It’s not the customers fault of you don’t match the colours correctly. I then had to chase for a correct refund. Wouldn’t use again

Absolute junk, no hot water. I’ve already fitted the suite so will have to rip out the whole ensuite to replace. Will cost thousands to put right.

DO NOT BUY MILANO ELIZABETH.

I’m currently in the middle of a large refurbishment and have ordered a substantial number of items from TBS. A few items needed to be replaced or sourced, through no fault of TBS, and Emily H was especially helpful. She went above and beyond to help me source the items I needed, and everything was dealt with quickly and efficiently.

Nothing was too much trouble, and it’s genuinely refreshing to have real people at the end of an email who respond quickly and actually take the time to help.

I have bought from this site several times and been very happy with the quality of the goods. Had an issue with a shower screen and raised it with the customer service and they were brilliant (thank you Monique). They were quick to respond, really easy to deal with and replaced the screen for free. I can’t fault them. They use a great delivery service as well that keeps you in the loop on delivery times etc. I can heartily recommend them and will use them again when I need more bathroom items.

Lisa helped me on whatsapp find the right cartridge for a shower that was bought and installed 7 years ago.

My daughter moved into a flat which had a shower that had a faulty valve which needed replacing. Having searched online to find a replacement part, I was led to the Big Bathroom Shop. I contacted them and was assisted by Shaunna who was outstanding. The part itself was discontinued but she checked the leftover stock and located one. She added it to an online basket and sent me a link to the basket in the online store. Part ordered. Happy days! Shaunna is a great example of a member of staff who went the extra mile - she could easily have said 'Sorry, that part is discontinued' and left it there. But she didn't, she took the time and made a real effort to be helpful, including half a dozen or so email exchanges. Thank you again Shaunna.

This is the email I've sent to The Big Bathroom Shop.

I am writing to raise a formal complaint regarding the failed delivery of my order, which has caused significant disruption, financial loss, and distress. I am requesting both compensation and a formal apology from Big Bathroom Shop for the impact of this service failure.

The replacement shower tray was very professionally and efficiently ordered by your staff for delivery today (18/8/26), on a priority delivery that is guaranteed to arrive between 7am and midday. It did not arrive, and three hours after the delivery window, neither FedEx nor your team could confirm its location. This failure has had direct and serious consequences.

This reflects very badly indeed on your firm: I acknowledge that the replacement tray was expedited extremely professionally and promptly. For which I am very grateful. However no attempt at all was made to check that the delivery was indeed a priority service (it wasn't).

The FEDEX tracking information now states that the entire shipment has been cancelled, presumably by Olivia, who I last spoke to at TBBS today. This is NOT what I requested and is causing considerable trouble.

The Plumbwells plumber costing £350 + VAT per day was booked specifically to install the shower tray upon delivery. Due to the non‑delivery, he had to leave, and the cost remains payable. This is a clear and foreseeable consequential loss arising from the failed delivery.

The shower tray is urgently required for installation in the home of an elderly disabled person who cannot leave the property. The delay has caused significant inconvenience and distress, as the installation of her accessible shower has now been postponed.

Additionally, I spent over three hours attempting to locate the delivery, speaking to multiple FedEx staff who incorrectly stated that the issue had been made a priority when it had not. This misinformation prolonged the delay and prevented me from making alternative arrangements. I spent today trying to source an alternative tray in a shop in Brighton. Unfortunately this is not possible.

Given the seriousness of the impact, I am requesting:

Compensation for the plumber’s day rate (£350 + VAT)

A formal apology for the distress and disruption caused

Confirmation of when the shower tray will actually be delivered

I expect a prompt response and a clear resolution.
