So far, our experience with Bewley Homes at The Oaks at Willow Fields in Alfold has been brilliant. As first-time buyers, we’ve felt completely supported throughout the process. The location of King’s Water and attention to detail of house positions means that houses are not over looked, they are spaced into clusters so that it is easy to make friends and build communities.

What a wonderful experience we had when recently visiting the King’s Water sales office in Ashton Keynes, my partner and I are looking to downsize and went in on the off chance, and what a beautiful site! We were greeted by a remarkable young man called Clint who is apart of the sales team, he was visibly busy on our arrival as had a meeting taking place as well as the phone ringing in the background, however he still found time to give us a wonderful detailed overview of the site and show us the showhome which is a home of dreams! We had a look at a finished 3 bed which had been built, we had such a great experience, he was very polite, calm and explained the site so well, it was a refreshing approach to selling! Wonderful representation of the company and he deserves a pay rise! Site is stunning and the homes by the lakes will be special, we would highly recommend and will be back when the site advances further, we have our eye on a bungalow by the lakes.

I visited Bewley Homes’ new development at Alford in Surrey and was shown around by a lovely lady named Roshein. She was incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable and took the time to answer all my questions thoroughly. Roshein made the whole experience feel relaxed and informative, giving me a clear picture of what the development has to offer. The homes themselves are beautifully designed with great attention to detail. Overall, a fantastic visit – I left feeling very impressed. Thank you, Roshein, for such a warm and helpful introduction to the site!

So far our experience with Bewley Homes has been excellent - we were initially shown around properties by Roisin who was very friendly and knowledgeable. Whilst the sale has been progressing we have been supported throughout by Aly who has been simply excellent- keeping us updated on the build progress, calming our various anxieties and really stepping up to get the sale through to exchange. So far we've been extremely pleased with the service provided. (Monarch's Grove, Deepcut). We have now moved in and are delighted with our new home. Special praise goes to Rick (site manager) who has been excellent at helping us with sorting out any small issues we have encountered since moving in. He again has made the experience a very positive one. Thank you to all at Bewley.

Bewley Homes in Calne (Alexandra Gate) have been exceptional. Even though our purchase of a property at this development wasn't successful the care, attention and transparency was incredible. Cherie-Anna and the team at this office truly go above and beyond. I want to thank them for all the time and effort they put into helping us. Hoping that maybe the development in Holt will be our next home.

Start to completion Bewley @ Kings Water treated us a a valued customer and were with us every step of the way. Nothing was too much trouble for the sales team of Clint & Danielle. Polite, courteous and responsive offering outstanding service. Our sense is that Bewley Homes are a cut above most of the larger developers in all round service and build quality. On site Mark and Dave have been ever helpful in sorting snagging which of course is natural on a new build. We have no hesitation recommending Bewley Homes from our experience so far and there is back up once the house is finished with any issues.

Bewley made the house buying process really smooth and easy for us as first time buyers. Great communication throughout the process and very quick to send people out to help us/ amend anything needed in the house.

What has made my experience brilliant so far, has been the direct support not only in driving through the exchange but selections process and now site visits including supply of photos on current progress on construction I.e. keeping the client updated.

I am a civil engineer who recently purchased a home from Bewley Homes. Bewley Home's personal service from the sales team to after sales team has been exemplary and swift. Interactions with groundworkers to landscapers and electricians to building contractors has been a pleasure while construction around my plot finishes. I have been in my home since 2023 and can say i have been pleased with the house itself and all of the support received after i moved in, the team have always been happy to help and offered to visit when needed if i have been unsure on defects however these have been in the main small items. All in all very pleased and felt looked after

Whilst we decided that the development location wasn’t quite right for us, we couldn’t not give praise for the attentive staff and beautiful homes. We felt so welcome and thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Review for Wilton Park development.
The sales team were great when we bought our property about 2 and a half years ago.
However our house has developed a leak in the roof. And we are just outside of the 2 year warranty and Bewley won't look at it.
EDITED and UPDATED June 2025: Since the initial review, Bewley has been in touch and looked into the roof. Hopefully the issue is now sorted. When corresponding with us on this issue, they mentioned they had had some staffing changes and that was the reason for the disappointing response initially.
It is a shame as we previously had a good relationship with the company.
Hopefully moving forward they maintain a good level of customer service.

We bought our house back in 2021 and thought Bewley were ‘different’ to other developers. We were wrong. Due to them laying our turf poorly the first time round our grass completely died within 8 months. After waiting nearly a year for it to then be replaced, the team they hired to replace the turf cracked all of our patio tiles (lay by Bewley) to the extent we can barely walk on them. Nobody will take responsibility and we have been ignored over 8 times by their team, including sales advisors, managers and senior managers. They tell lies and only care until the sale has gone through and that’s it. Me and my partner are appalled. Don’t bother buying from them unless you want years of hassle. This has now been going on for 18 months.

Don't be taken in by all the glowing reviews saying how wonderful the Sales team are. Yes, they are very nice and helpful, that's what they are paid to do! They would not sell any houses if the sales people weren't helpful. Having said that, my own sales process was quite smooth, as house sale transactions go. Property was purchased in August 2024.

The key thing is how well the houses are designed and built and how Bewley respond to the inevitable snags that arise. Looking at the other reviews, it seems a mixed bag.

I have never had a new build before and I don't know what is 'normal' for the number of snags but my property had quite a lot, mostly minor, thankfully. Bewley have fixed most of them in a reasonable time but see the ongoing issues below.

In terms of the design, Bewley have made some strange choices (e.g. boiler on the landing when there is plenty of space and an outside wall in the utility room) which could have been done better. The master bedroom and ensuite are quite cramped for a house of this size with space being wasted in other areas. Other rooms are well proportioned though. Other house types in the development also suffer from very cramped master bedrooms or poor kitchen layouts (very little work surface).

Construction quality seems to be reasonable, though other properties on this development have had serious issues with water ingress through windows during wet and windy weather and damp in the loft due to poorly designed/installed extractor fans. My garage still leaks water during heavy rain, despite the seal that Bewley fitted. This could have been easily avoided by having the level of the tarmac on the drive lower than the concrete floor of the garage, which seems a basic error.

Worst issue in my property is the downstairs heating system, which is a complete nightmare to control and takes a long time to get to a reasonable temperature. The boiler constantly cycles on and off every few minutes all day (and at night if the temperature is cold) unless you frequently manually adjust the thermostats. The downstairs thermostat is situated in an unheated Hall and is unable to control the temperature properly. It is very difficult to get the temperature to stay anywhere above 18 deg C. The upstairs thermostat however, is located in a heated room and works almost perfectly.
Despite escalating the issue to Bewley's Head of Customer service, they will not fix the issue and it looks like I will have to fork out best part of £1000 to get the job done properly. This is quite disappointing.

I would not particularly recommend Bewley homes but also would not say they are to be avoided, as some other reviewers have. I suspect they are no worse than any other builders and probably better than some.

We were in the process of buying our forever home from them, as the previous owners had sold it as a part exchange. We were literally a couple of weeks away from completion, and when they found out there was a slim chance we might not complete before Christmas they pulled out, and had been keeping another buyer on the back burner the entire time!
They were aggressive and demanding with unrealistic timelines, the constant pushing to complete before Christmas, in our opinion, appeared like they were just trying to meet some year end quota.
We've now been left without a home but thousands to still pay in conveyancing fees.
