Exceptional service

Exceptional service! Flight delayed by over 4 hours and the airline refusing to address obvious issues. Went through the process on the aviation portal and claim was dealt with appropriately.

It's a Private Business funded by Airlines

It's a Private Business funded by Airlines, so naturally the process favours these.

I had a claim against Wizz air where the airline used freight carriage rules to assess the value of the bag they lost and the ADR sided with them despite they used the wrong justification, paragraphs from the Montreal Convention.

The there's the process as well. I was asked to submit the documents which I couldn't initially do because either the option to do it wasn't there and I was only able to submit the receipts.

It also said that I'll be able to submit additional evidence afterwards which I did. Unbeknown to me the person that gave the favourable determination to the airline rejected my objection on grounds that "the airline was not given the chance to review this evidence".

My advice is for anyone dealing with these "arbitration service " is to either go through the process and go to the small claims courts with the airline. Which is what I'm going to do next

What is even more annoying that you have no option to reject their offer and go there directly.

I honestly think, that either their staff is untrained or this is their process that is deliberately stacked against the customer.

We do not favour one side over the other - whether consumer or airline. ADR is funded in a way that ensures we receive the same amount no matter who wins the case - meaning we have no incentive to be biased towards either party, and that we provide a fair, impartial service. We're sorry this didn't feel evident to you throughout using our service - we are always looking for more ways to make the ADR process behind-the-scenes more transparent for consumers.

Unfair ruling in favour of Ryanair, totally disappointed

I've approached Aviation ADR after Ryanair refused compensation for damaging beyond repair my luggage.
The decision taken by Aviation ADR was utterly unfair: while they acknowledged that my luggage had been damaged beyond repair and the falseness of Ryanair statement that I had suffered only minor, not refundable, scratches, they unexpectedly ruled in favour of the airline, claiming that the lack of original purchase receipt of my luggage prevented them from awarding compensation, notwithstanding it would have been very easy to determine a fair compensation based upon the current/discounted cost of a similar luggage.
Such decision is not only unfair and raises many doubts about the entity independence, but it goes against all rules and would leave the damaged passengers with the only option of a court case against airlines, which for a damage of about Eur 200 is sadly unworth! This is regrettably fostering an even too common approach of dishonest airlines!
I'm very disappointed!

Compensation received

I contacted Aviation ADR after KLM refused my claim for cancelling my flight. The process was very straightforward and I was kept informed of progress of each stage.

Brilliant service

Brilliant service. Submitted my claim and basically AviationADR did the rest. They kept me informed at every step and it was concluded within 3 months and compensation paid by the airline. I would strongly recommend people using them.

Restoring faith in the complaints system.

Sought assistance from AviationADR when a well known airline was refusing to refund expenses incurred after a diverted flight. Brilliant website with a confidence building timeline showing stages to be completed in order.

Having accepted my data (and that I had a case meeting the criteria for pursuing), they sought a defence from the airline, I had a right to read the defence and respond. Then Aviation ADR made the final judgement - and it was in my favour. Airline instructed to pay up - and they have done.

At every stage, the messaging system kept me informed and for all my messages, I had replies in less then 24 hours - courteous and clear. It is all the more impressive that the claim was for less then £100. For me it was about the principle as much as the money. They were prepared to support the little guy and I admire them from that.

AviationADR has restored my faith in being able to claim against large companies when there is justification. Yes it takes time, but their support and objectivity (and final decision) were very important to me.

While I hope I am never treated as badly by a company again, I would not hesitate to return to AviationADR.

Helped me sort an issue with Air France

Helped me get a fair resolution with Air France, who were claiming that I wasn't owed compensation for a delayed flight. Quick, easy to use service, great customer portal and kept up-to-date. Positive outcome for me.

Got the law wrong and ignored me throughout if you have a…

Avoid if you can and if you have a valid claim. I brought a straightforward UK261 flight compensation case and cited binding Court of Appeal precedent directly on point (Huzar v Jet2). The adjudicator's determination didn't engage with it at all, the single most relevant authority, simply ignored. The decision went against me as a result.

The service around it was just as poor. The website is clunky and confusing to navigate, and messages I sent went unanswered for long stretches with no acknowledgement. For a body that's meant to provide accessible, fair dispute resolution, the experience was the opposite.

Because of their error I've been forced to pursue the matter through the courts to get the outcome the law clearly supports. I've also submitted Freedom of Information requests to the CAA about oversight of this scheme, and I'm raising the standard of service with my MP who has been quite engaged. Consumers deserve far better from an approved ADR provider.

Extremely good service

Following a cancelled flight on EgyptAir, we kept trying to contact them to ask about a partial/full refund, but never heard anything back. We were advised to contact AviationADR about this issue. Right from the start, AviationADR kept us fully informed of the status of our claim and received a full refund in the end. Very impressed and would definitely contact them again if anything similar happens in the future.

I had a very positive experience with AviationADR

I had a very positive experience with AviationADR during a dispute with an airline regarding reimbursement after a cancelled flight.

The process was quite detailed and took some time, but throughout the case I found the system fair, structured and transparent. The adjudicator carefully reviewed both sides, considered the evidence submitted, and ultimately reached a balanced and reasoned decision.

What I appreciated most was having an independent body that genuinely assessed the case based on the regulations and documentation provided, rather than generic customer service responses from the airline.

Although the process requires patience, I would absolutely recommend AviationADR to passengers who are struggling to resolve a legitimate claim directly with an airline. It gave me a fair route to pursue reimbursement and ultimately helped me achieve a successful outcome.

They are not responsible for their decisions

Useless service. I complained about a Ryanair flight delay. They did nothing for 5 months, and then ruled in my favor. But the airline never paid the compensation. Complaining is pointless; they'll send you to court. What for do you even exist? I knew I was entitled to compensation even without their 5-month review.

Highly recommended when the airline think they are right.

Highly recommended when the airline decides against you. I just followed the process and AviationADR agreed with my appeal. They even chased the airline who did not pay in the set time. Now I got the compensation after a couple of months.

Excellent service

I am incredibly impressed with the Aviation ADR platform. Easy, straightforward process.

It was easy to submit the claim and I was regularly updated on its progress. It took several months to resolve but I did eventually get back most of my claim. Much easier than dealing directly with a company that either gives you the run around or fobs you off.
