Issue after issue
Issue after issue. Completely messed around by this dealership, wasting my time, money, and sanity. They were told about an issue with the engine management light coming on and my car going into limp mode while on the A1 with my children in the car. This happened frequently throughout the five days before my vehicle was seen and 'apparently' looked at and fixed. Within 10 miles of leaving the dealership, my car went limp, and the light was back on. This has caused me huge distress, having to drive a vehicle that was unsafe, especially after they'd 'fixed' it. I've wasted money having to go back and forth to the dealership and having to use rental cars. This isn't the first time I've reported an issue and have been brushed off and made to feel as though I'm making it up. Poor service throughout. I wouldn't touch them again even if I were paid.

Stress free experience
I had been looking for a specific model of used car which brought me to Astons. I arrived without an appointment but was made welcome and shown the available models that might fill my criteria. Sonny applied absolutely no pressure tactics, explained the difference between models, and completed the sale with professionalism. I have had the car for a month now and can honestly say it’s been a stress free experience.

Purchased a car and used a part…
Purchased a car and used a part exchange and they attempted to find faults that didn’t exist with p/x and came out with a random amount of money to deduct with no reasonable breakdown of pricing, Poor communication. took 1 & 1/2 months and chase up to action log book for new vehicle. Had to return new car within days with suspension failure even though they had put a new mot on it prior to me receiving the new car which then left with a new fault and due to lack of trust I took it to another garage for repair.
In addition to the response from Astons, my grievance was they would not explain or justify what the £300 was for and how
It came about, it was after a very long conversation they agreed to the option of a refund if it was a regas only, this took several weeks for the investigation and then further chase up by me to receive a partial refund and to date have still not received requested invoice or job sheet.
In regards to the new car works it had been returned twice to them already - after they lost the wheel nut after changing front brakes and them not believing us when we said it wasn’t in the car. After having the suspension done it returned with the steering wheel off, I took it to a garage for tracking to be told the tie rod was bent and they believed this was done by being hit when the suspension was fitted. Their words not mine. I was not prepared to take it back to Astons and got another garage to repair.

Your review is quite general and does not provide specific details, however we have identified the matters you are referring to and would like to respond accordingly.
Regarding your part exchange, your Land Rover was described as having everything in full working order. As part of our normal process, we test key equipment after the vehicle has been accepted rather than carrying out lengthy inspections during the point of sale. Unfortunately, we found the air conditioning to be inoperative.
As repairs to air conditioning systems can range from a simple re-gas to much more substantial repairs, we agreed to retain a £300 deposit against any potential repair costs. This approach was intended to be transparent and fair, as we would either cap your contribution at £300 if the repair proved expensive, or refund any unused balance if the repair was less costly. We also offered you the option of taking the vehicle away and arranging the repair privately if you preferred.
In the event, the fault required a re-gas together with leak detection, the total cost was significantly less than the deposit retained, and the balance was promptly refunded to you along with a full explanation and supporting invoice.
We also apologise that you needed to return your newly purchased vehicle shortly after collection due to a knocking noise from the front suspension. The vehicle had received a valid MOT carried out by an independent MOT testing station prior to delivery. Following your return, we identified a worn rubber suspension bush and replaced the complete component containing the bush at no cost to you before returning the vehicle.
You mention that the vehicle subsequently developed another fault. We are not aware of any additional issue arising whilst the vehicle was in our care. Had we been made aware of such a problem, we would have welcomed the opportunity to inspect the vehicle and resolve the matter before you incurred the cost of having repairs carried out elsewhere.
Whilst we appreciate that this experience did not meet your expectations, we do feel that we acted fairly and reasonably throughout by investigating the concerns raised, offering options, carrying out repairs at our expense where appropriate, and keeping our financial commitment exactly as agreed.

We are genuinely sorry that you experienced further issues with your vehicle following your purchase, and we appreciate that this will have been frustrating.
As explained in our previous response, we sought to deal with the concerns brought to our attention by investigating the issues raised, carrying out repairs at no cost to you where appropriate, and refunding the unused balance of the amount retained against your part exchange once the air conditioning fault had been diagnosed.
With regard to your comments concerning the bent track rod, we are unable to comment on this allegation as the vehicle was not returned to us for inspection after these concerns were raised. Without the opportunity to examine the vehicle ourselves, it would be inappropriate for us to speculate on the cause.
We are sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations and wish you all the best for the future.
