The worst- avoid at all costs

The worst. Be prepared for calls from your electric company that your service is about to be terminated for non-payment. Arcadia screwed up our account from start to finish and their “holier than thou” customer service takes no responsibility for incompetence.

I've been signed up with Arcadia for…

I've been signed up with Arcadia for just over a year. They provide exactly what they claim in their sales pitch. The credits each month are for a few dollars and in today's economy every saved dollar matters. It's also nice to know I'm supporting the shift to renewable energy sources.

Arcadia is a power generator using clean and green sources to generate power to our grid. The company dies this and saves its customers money in the process. It’s almost magical!

Arcadia provides a smooth transition from your regular coal-or nuclear-based power generation provider, to a power generation system which is greener (solar, wind), and this results in a lower power bill for the customer. Simply put, Arcadia empowers its customers to lower their carbon footprint while saving money at the same time. Their customer service is as good or better than Commonwealth Edison (my old servicer), and setting up your transfer couldn’t be easier! I highly recommend Arcadia Power for anyone that cares about saving money, while reducing greenhouse gases and slowing global warming. Doing your part to ensure the Earth is here for future generations has never been easier- or mire profitable to you, the customer! Make the change to Arcadia today! Very Happy Customer

In mid-2022, I joined another company, but nothing happened. There was no change at all. However, in early 2023, a very nice young woman came and explained Arcadia to me. I immediately signed up, and since then, my power bill has dropped tremendously. This transition has been seamless and beneficial for my wallet. I am delighted with the decision to switch.

Honest, straight forward, clean.

Any claims to this company being dishonest are clearly planted by anti-environmental lurkers. Like any energy supplier, they operate within the constructs of regulations and laws. They actually cooperate with your local provider and will gladly handle all of the administrative assignments to switch you over to all clean energy, seamlessly. They are incredibly competent and professional when talking to them and my energy bill has improved as I’ve taken my own steps to be more diligent around the house. It’s an honor and privilege to take advantage of such an opportunity to contribute to reversing the rapid warming of our atmosphere by ending my dependency on fossil fuels. Next target — our vehicles! Thanks for the positive experience Arcadia.

Crooks if you ask me

I do not know who these people are but they claim that I signed up with them. They do have information of mine but I have no knowledge of how. They also referred to me by a name that I no longer go by which gives me reason to believe this was something that might have been done many years ago. They should not be able to just pop into people's lives and collect money from people's accounts without even contacting the individual. I don't know who they are again but if I did sign up years ago I was definitely no longer interested if they hadn't provided service in so many years and then come out of the blue now. Cone on now. If any lawyer is ever reading this and you can help me Sue please do look me up. Right now I am fighting to get money back from an unauthorized card that they withdrew claiming that I authorized them to.

Going on two years now

Going on two years now, and my monthly electric bill keeps going down. I didn’t expect that as I signed up with Arcadia simply to be more ecologically minded about my energy use, but I’m definitely NOT complaining! My ComEd bill was generally around $55-60, but this month’s Arcadia bill is $12 and change. The change was seamless, as is the service. Recommend!

It not a scam that is clear, but ...

I approached Arcadia with a healthy dose of skepticism, well aware of the scams that unfortunately pervade the green energy sector. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that Arcadia operates a legitimate service. That being said, my commendation stops there. While they're clear about not being a scam, the transparency about savings leaves much to be desired.

The potential for significant savings was a major selling point for me, but the reality didn't quite match the promise. Yes, there are savings – but they are not as immediate or as substantial as one might be led to believe. The majority of what you save seems to funnel back into the construction and maintenance of the solar parks – a detail that wasn't as clear as I think it should have been. The notion that the savings are a big draw is, in my case, more theoretical than practical.

After over a year of patience and anticipation, the 'big discount' manifested as a rather modest $5 off my monthly energy bill. While any discount is appreciated, I must confess that the return hardly seemed worth the effort. It begs the question: Does the investment match the reward?

That being said, if your motivation to join Arcadia's program is less about the financial benefit and more about contributing to the growth of renewable energy because you're unable to install solar panels at your home, then this program might have value for you. It's a way to support the green energy movement, albeit with modest personal financial benefits.

In conclusion, for those looking for a significant reduction in their utility costs, this might not be the most effective avenue. However, for the environmentally conscious consumer looking to support renewable energy initiatives, Arcadia Solar Parks could be a step in the right direction – just temper your expectations when it comes to your wallet.

So my advice .. if you want to do something for green energy consider it. If you are in for the savings forget about it.

Extremely pushy and show up at your house at night if you don’t answer their texts

I live in NJ and had a representative (her name was Alvita) show up at my door with her pitch on Wednesday 10/11/23. We weren’t really interested but basically she would not go away. We felt very pressured to sign up and while we do want to help the planet, I do not like people coming to my door. We signed up to make her leave because it was clear she wasn’t leaving until we did and we figured once she was gone we could just cancel our enrollment.

We sign up and she leaves. Great. Then on Friday 10/13/2023 I receive 4 back to back text messages from her to my cell phone that I don’t see right away (I see them maybe 2 hours after they were sent) because I’m dealing with an EXTREMELY sick toddler. The messages state we couldn’t be approved because our bill was over a certain amount (we had just received the bill and obviously hadn’t paid it at that point) and asking if we could make a payment on it. Now honestly, we didn’t care if we were approved or not because we never wanted to enroll in the first place. So because of that and the fact that my daughter is sick, I don’t answer at that moment. Alvita then proceeds to SHOW UP AT MY HOME after 8:30 pm banging on my door. My partner answers the door and she starts asking to speak with me and asking if I could pay the balance. He tells her I’m busy with our daughter and will pass on the message.

Who shows up at somebody’s house that late at night because their text messages weren’t answered?! That is extremely unprofessional. Way too pushy for my liking.

Each state has its own program and each customer that signs up with Arcadia in these eligible areas has the opportunity to receive savings on their monthly utility bill. There are no sign-up or cancellation fees. The process to receive savings on their monthly utility bill is as simple as signing up with Arcadia. Once their solar project starts producing power, the customer starts receiving savings.

Arcadia is a rip off. Don't sign up.

Arcadia is a rip off. We're RI consumers. We bought their sales pitch. We wanted to help the planet. We signed up and believed their written promise that our bill would never be more than it would be if we bought from RI Power. After a few years we discovered we had about a $1000 "credit" with the regular utility that was growing every month. We asked for our money back. The utility said we had to get it from Arcadia. Arcadia said we had to get it from the utility. It turns out the utility was correct. Arcadia admitted they had been "accidentally" overcharging us for our predicted energy use. They said they would adjust our estimated use to bring it in line. The adjustment got us about a $5 per month credit. It would take us about 200 months to break even. They refused to return the overcharge. After about 50 hours on the phone, they wore me down and I cancelled Arcadia. STAY AWAY. DON'T SIGN UP WITH THEM!

Promised at my door by the Salesperson…

Promised at my door by the Salesperson that I would save on my power bill 10%, which I took as 10% of my current rate with current company.
No this is not how it worked; they bill you at ARCADIA rate which is 100-300% higher than my current rate. Then apply a 10% discount.
I compared the usage they recorded to the same usage time the year before and the month before. The usage they billed me for was 200% higher than either of the months I compared it to. 3x the price of my normal Power company supplied power. This company is a scam. You save nothing! Don't do it.

Scam through and through

Scam through and through. Promise savings, reports savings (after much searching), passes $0 on to you. Yup. Your average bill will increase and you pay the full, original amount that the utility billed. Dishonest and the benefits to the customer were overinflated by the salesperson. Fool me once, shame on you! Not fooling me twice.

This company will not allow you to…

This company will not allow you to apply all the solar credits you earn to your bill so you are constantly paying when in fact you don’t need to. I’m in the process of canceling my account and they said it would take 90 days and that I will still get billed even though I have over $100 in solar community credits. How does that make sense? It doesn’t. This company is a scam.

There is a timeline necessary for the solar developer and utility company to fully process your un-enrollment from a Community Solar project. This timeline accounts for your account’s specific billing cycle, as well as the amount of time it actually takes for the utility to cease applying solar savings to your account. This cancellation timeline was presented in your Community Solar terms, agreed to at enrollment.

No billing transparency

I am currently an Arcadia customer who is "lucky" enough to be enrolled in a solar farm. Since being enrolled my bill has increased almost 50%. The MAJOR issue with this company is the lack of transparency in how they bill you. The only thing their bill shows is a charge and a 10% credit. It does not show you how they came to the charge of your bill. I've inquired about this several times via email and phone and I get the same generic response everyone else is getting (All customers enrolled in Community Solar get to keep a certain portion of the savings generated by their portion of the solar projects. The remaining portion goes back to the developer as a fee to maintain your project." Okay great show me the bill the solar farm sent you. When you subscribe to a solar farm you should get a bill from the farm and from your utility. I get a bill from my utility and Arcadia shrugs it's shoulders in how they came to the amount they are charging me. You can improve your service significantly by including the bill you receive from the solar farm for your customers. Extremely shady to be hiding it and when I asked for it today the rep couldn't explain to me how Arcadia charges me each month. 90 - 180 days to cancel service when you go to do that to.

In response to the below: I have been in contact with support for over 2 weeks. So far no one has been able to provide me a clear answer about the bill. No one can provide me an itemized bill on the charges from the solar farm I am subscribed to. The only information your website provides is a total charge and a savings of 10 percent but no real information as to how those charges were calculated. I know how to read my Utility bill. This information is NOT available there as the charges come from the solar farm NOT from my utility.

Waiting Forever For This Community Solar

They promised this community solar project I signed up for would be completed over a year ago. Every time it gets close to the promised date, the promised date gets pushed out.

Originally it was promised to be last summer, then it got pushed out to Jan 2023. Logged on in Jan 2023 found it had been pushed out to Feb 2023. Logged in in Feb 2023 and found it had been pushed out to Aug 2023. Logged on again right now and now it is saying Sept 2023. I have no confidence that this will ever happen.

I have received absolutely no communication from Arcadia explaining what is happening here.

The only reason why I give this two stars is because Arcadia allows me to pay my utility bill with a credit card without any additional fees. Since I can get points from this at least I save a couple of dollars.

EDIT: Just to be clear - I was never on any waitlist. I was assigned to a specific community solar project since Spring 2022 so this generic nonsense in the response about "wait lists" is completely irrelevant.

Of course there will be delays...if it had been a few months, I wouldn't have minded. But this is more than a year now with dates promised and continually being blown through. At this point, there are only two options - Arcadia scammed me (keeps lying about the completion date so I don't go elsewhere) or incompetent (they don't know what they are doing).

EDIT (10/4/2022): Just logged into my Arcadia account today hoping to finally see some solar power finally being generated (my Con Ed bill came today). I shouldn't have got my hopes up. Now it is saying October and Fall 2022. This is just nuts. This is a completely untrustable company. Reducing to 1 star.

Once your project is completed and you are connected, you’ll start to see savings a few billing cycles later. Community Solar project completion is impacted by construction and administrative timelines. We provide our best estimate for project completion at any given time on your Arcadia dashboard. If estimates change, your Arcadia dashboard is updated to show that.

Rude Representatives

The Representatives knocking door to door are rude, disrespectful and arrogant. One specifically in Cherry Hill, NJ on 8/10/2023 walked into my garage uninvited and would not leave after I told him I was not interested.
I told him to get out of my home and I was calling the police. When I picked up my phone he smugly said "you calling your husband "I would never do business with a company that hires ignorant, incompetent representatives. If I could I would not give any stars.

Signed up last summer (2022) via a door-to-door solicitation in Chicago. I have 4 meters, so that should have gotten the salesguy all excited. Its been 15 months. I cant see how they calculate the bills. The only data they give you is KwH each month. The final monthly amounts for 15 months are all over the place (not a straight line relationship with KwH used) though bills are reasonably similar to before. Only prob is that only 1 of my 4 meters is actually connected to a solar farm so far. Been over a year --- could solar farms be that in demand?

When enrolled in our Community Solar program, you pay for your electric bill as issued by your utility minus your portion of Community Solar savings, which we attach to your statement. All customers enrolled in Community Solar get to keep a certain portion of the savings generated by their portion of the solar projects. The remaining portion goes back to the developer to maintain your project.

Community Solar subscriptions are personalized as they are based on annualized electric usage. Each separate electric account would have its own Community Solar subscription. With Community Solar, you may be on a waitlist for a project if you live in one of our eligible states. Once your project is completed and you are connected, you’ll start to see savings a few billing cycles later.
