Since AMS was founded in 1942, our products have been used by individuals, businesses, universities, non-profits, and government agencies throughout the world for a wide variety of sampling, testing, and monitoring purposes. AMS primarily serves the following industries: Agricultural, Geotechnical, Environmental, and Groundwater. AMS manufactures soil probes, soil augers, soil core samplers, sludge and sediment samplers, soil gas samplers, and more! And since 1994, we have been manufacturing AMS PowerProbe direct push drill rigs. Our PowerProbes can be mounted on pickup trucks, trailers, UTVs, skid loaders, tractors, and tracks. They have gained widespread acceptance due to their versatility, relatively low cost, and ease of mobility. PowerProbes are designed to be used for soil, soil gas, and groundwater sampling, testing, and monitoring; installing monitoring wells; geophysical and geotechnical assessments; and remediation investigations and implementations. In addition, most PowerProbe models can be fitted with hollow stem augering capabilities.

AMS has great customer service, their products are built well and function as advertised. Re-ordering parts can be tricky, it is best to use their catalog and not their website if you are looking for a very specific part like a tile extension or an adapter for example. That, all in all, is a minor complaint, I still give them a five next to their competition. They also have invented gadgets to make your work efficient and easier!

Failed delivery
Requested supplies with 2 day delivery to meet event schedule and AMS failed to send 2-day delivery which delayed receipt of supplies forcing the sampling event to be canceled. I had to incur costs to demobilize and re-mobilize at a later date. AMS would only offer to refund the 2-day shipping charge and nothing else. very disappointing.

The website was ok, pretty easy to find what I was looking for. Customer service was lacking. I spent some time trying to purchase something online, but couldn't. Then I called in and made the purchase. I emailed to get a receipt and never got a reply.

Durable and efficient
The samplers worked great and have stood the test of time (2 weeks of hard use followed by storage and then infrequent medium ware).
