Very Disappointed with Quality and…
Very Disappointed with Quality and Customer Service
I purchased a blouse for $400 a month ago, and I’m extremely disappointed. Within first wear the fabric started peeling, and now it has two holes! Its look like 10$ blouse from forever 21.their quality has deteriorated drastically compared with what it used to be, reached out to the company multiple times via email and phone, but their response has been unacceptable—they claim they can’t do anything about it. On top of that theirCustomer service treated me very carelessly and poorly. For such an expensive item, I expected better quality and accountability. I won’t be shopping here again and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
Zero the Worst customer service last…
Zero the Worst customer service last night they had 30% off of sale items I was buying five items and Couldn’t check out I called today no answer call again no answer by the time I wanted to buy my item my size was gone and now they have everything 25% off where’s experience with shopping they deserve a zero
If I could give a "zero", I would.
If I could give a "zero", I would. I purchased a top from the Miami Design district store and ordered the matching skirt (they didn't have my size in store). When I received the skirt, it didn't fit so I asked the store for a return on both items. After sending me a shipping label (which I purchased through them for $16.00), the label had expired. I then tried NUMEROUS times to contact the store (no answer or follow through after talking with a sales rep) and I never received another return label. I then contacted A&O Customer Service and was told that I would receive a call back from the store. NO CALLS! I am now stuck with a $600 outfit that I will not wear.
Customer service and quality issues…
I have been shopping with A+O almost exclusively since 2012 and my entire closet is filled with their clothes which is why I’m giving 3 stars rather than one. I love the aesthetic and I love that their clothes generally run small enough to fit me which is an issue with other designers.
That having been said, the customer service is absolutely atrocious. A few years back, I received a final sale item that had numerous pulls in the silk fabric and asked to return it on that basis. When I was denied, I was pretty upset considering how much money I regularly spend there and my response was a bit harsh, something along the lines of “You sent me garbage and expect me to be stuck with it?” Apparently my use of the word garbage was so deeply offensive that it prompted them to tell me that the company takes tremendous pride in the quality of their items (weird hill to stand on when you send defective items) and I was welcome to discontinue shopping with them. I will say they did allow me to “return” it once I’d provided confirmation that I’d placed a new order for the same item. Several years later, it’s still in my closet in the original plastic bag which I’ve never opened.
Fast forward to now. Still shopping there because of the aesthetic and fit - truly the only reasons. Amazingly, the quality seems to go down from season to season. I have a handful of items that I consider archival pieces at this point which are still in perfect condition, yet I just had the embellishments fall off a brand new $295 t-shirt after 4 hours of wearing and a $395 skirt that pilled and frayed after just 2 wearings. I’ve contacted customer service literally 5x about the t-shirt asking how I can get it fixed since I can’t return it and haven’t even received the courtesy of a response.
For my birthday this year, I treated myself to a skirt and sweater which I haven’t yet opened and now feel I have no choice but to return. I’d like to note that at $395 for a basic short sleeve sweater with a bow, I’d have expected that the bow be tied beautifully when I received it instead of haphazardly placed around the collar untied, but that in itself isn’t a dealbreaker. Quality is. I can’t rely on these items to fare better than any of my other recent full price purchases and I definitely can’t rely on customer service to respond to me or assist me if I have an issue.
The sizing has also become increasingly inconsistent. Back in 2012, the clothes ran so small that I often sized up. Now the size 0s are sometimes too large for me and it’s not as though I can size down. I’ve had things tailored but honestly who wants to pay for the tailoring of low quality, high priced items?
I think the company itself is so focused on celebrity culture and “influencers” that it genuinely doesn’t care about its loyal customer base. I’ve spent tens of thousands of dollars with a company that literally told me I should stop shopping with them if I’m going to complain about damaged final sale items. I worked in fashion retail for years and can’t wrap my head around that response to this day.
Goodbye to my birthday present to myself this year. You’re beautiful, but I don’t trust you not to fall apart. I’d still keep you if only customer service cared enough to acknowledge any of my 5 emails about the t-shirt that fell apart. I asked for A+O gift cards for my birthday this year too - big mistake - and I already had my eye on a brand new top to buy (more than the gift cards would cover) but I can’t convince myself to go out of pocket for anything else at this time. I’m very sad that my favorite brand doesn’t care enough to give me the time of day.
Fast fashion clothes should be at fast fashion prices. If I bought an embellished t-shirt from H&M, I’d expect it to fall apart! I didn’t expect that from Alice + Olivia.
Lastly, I have to agree with other reviewers regarding the in-store experience - it’s why I generally shop online and not in stores. I actually had a great experience last week at the Madison Ave store in NYC and, come to think of it, I’ve always fared well in that store, but I no longer live on the UES so it’s a bit of a trek. In every other store I’ve visited, I’ve felt like I was being followed around by sales associates who tried to upsell me every five seconds, talk me into items I didn’t want, insist I try them on anyway and then tell how amazing they look even when I feel like the complete opposite is true. I’m my own stylist, always have been, and I have a knack for it. I also have prior experience as a personal shopper. The A+O store experience is a DON’T. You may get customers to buy more than they planned to, but you won’t get them back into your stores. People don’t like feeling pressured or manipulated.
Please reconsider how you treat your loyal customers. There’s a finite amount of time we’ll stick around for poor quality and almost non-existent customer support.
I’m a fan of this clothing line
My experience with on-line customer service is excellent. Their jeans are just fabulous. I am relatively new to this clothing line but so far so good with me and I like the quality of their denim.
Scam applicationation
I invested in the application they give me in the first 2 days task that I can collect my money then they started ask me to recharge more money with every new task they they say if I want to withdraw my money then I need to upgrade to the next step that mean I need to recharge more money
The app. Is big scam
Horrible company
Horrible company: pump is defective. They don’t help: save your money and buy else where
Complicated returns / salespeople suffocating
This company (or at least stores in NYC) make returns a horrible experience. I like the clothes but the sizing is inconsistent; shopping in store I feel like I am constantly being convinced to make purchases and lied to things look well on me when they don’t, just to make a sale. So I order online but every time I want to return something in store it’s an entire ordeal to answer why and the salespeople trying to push other sizes or diferent models on you to make a sale. I’ve never felt so suffocated as in these stores anywhere else (I regularly shop at Bergdorf, Saks, Bloomingdales, Nordstrom). To make matters worse- they charge a $10 fee for mailing returns (who wants to print labels when a store is blocks from their house?! But a store feels like a hostage area!) AND you only get 14 days from ORDER DATE to even make a return (it doesn’t matter they took 5 days to get the order to me?) All in all, I’ve given it so many chances and went to different stores in NYC, but they all make a return such a horrible suffocating experience that I won’t be ordering from this brand anymore.
Normally I order on line
Normally I order on line. I went into the store located on 40th street in NYC. Not one sales person said a word to me. I had over 10 thousand dollars to spend. I was ignored so I left the store with all my cash. I am a Black woman I guest I did not fit the profile for Alicia and Olivia. I will never purchase another item.
Sales girls are pathetically…
Sales girls are pathetically pretentious. Thanks, but there are plenty of other quality clothing brands with the aptitude to understand the value of the customer and the power of social media.
If could give zero I would
If could give zero I would. Sales associates are too pushy, clothes are made in china, done in mass production so they’re made in poor quality. Not sure how they get their price points so ridiculously high, when their clothes are made cheaply. I’d rather shop at Zara where you get no attention at all, and you can shop freely, and leave with what you actually want as opposed to being pushed to buy a tun of cheap clothing you didn’t really want to own in the first place. I feel sorry for the assistants as they probably get an abundance of warnings if they don’t meet their quoter for the day from pushing these cheap clothes onto customers, the whole experience sucks, just because that way of selling worked in this companies favour doesn’t mean the new wave of shoppers dig it.
Zara here I come you can take all my money and your clothes are better quality too. 0 points for Alice and wonderland I mean Olivia 😂
cheap fabric + sky high prices = a scam
It was my first time ordering from this company and I'm absolutely shocked--shocked!--by the low quality of their product compared to the sky high price. $500 for a polystery dress that looks cheaply made? Please. You guys have to be kidding yourselves. I love how the envelope says 'empowered women empower women' lol. Nothing says 'empowered' like ripping customers off, huh. Returning right away and never ordering from this place again. I don't support scam brands. Only reason I am dignifying them with 2 stars is because they made the return process fairly simple.
Customer Care means something…
Customer Care Team is ungracious and doesn’t listen!! I am deeply disappointed with this company for the poor quality of customer service rep that I had interacted with!! I have spent a lot of money and time with Alice and Olivia , today the buck STOPS!!! Customer Care means nothing to them…
Poor quality & customer service
I was really unimpressed both by their clothing quality and customer service. I ordered a >$300 skirt that arrived with a tear in it. I contacted customer service and they took 2 days to get back to me about it, and they didn't offer any recompense to me for the inconvenience. It was very inconvenient schlepping to Fedex to return this item and I certainly don't plan to order from them again.
i have purchased many many items from…
i have purchased many many items from alice and olivia. their customer service is pretty good if you go into their store. this review is more about the quality of their merchandise. in less than 5 wearings of VERY VERY VERY VERY pricey items, they have all fallen apart in one way or another. 1) a grommet dress. cost a fortune and one of the grommets fell off after about 3 wearings. no seamstress or cleaner would come within a foot of it because its leather. 2) a patent leather mini dress. the eyelet hook has come undone after about 4 wearings. easy fix but NOT THE POINT. 3) white leather mini has a stain on it from the stupid foam they put on the hanger to protect the skirt from hanger claw marks. instead i have black foam marks! unbelievable.
i won't be shopping here pretty much ever again
1 star
1 star? How about zero. Want Covid? Buy these pieces of crap . Cute but absolutely no protection. 2 layers of thin, thin viscose (?). These aren’t for protection. They’re ffor cute. This company should be ashamed of their quest for profits over safety. I’m throwing mine away. Not even a a pocket for a filter. Hint: Honest Company makes a great mask if they’re still selling them. Or buy an FDA authorized (go to website FDA.gov for list) and wear a kn95 and stick this cute pos over it. Believe me, it has no protection. You’ll be able to breathe. And do not trust these Vogue or InStyle mask recommendations.
Beware when buying suede pants!!
I absolutely love Alice + Olivia clothes and customer service. Exceptional customer service in NYC & ATL.
My warning to potential buyers of their suede pants...don’t buy them!! I wear a 00. In less than a year, they have stretched to fit a size 4 or more. It’s not about sizing, it’s that the pants stretch out and there’s no way to get them back to the original size. No leather/suede specialist can help. Tailoring is not an option either.
Spending over $900 for pants that are absolutely GORGEOUS when you first purchase, but unable to wear (unless you plan on gaining weight) is not something I want to do.
I’d rather spend $900+ on an amazing dress or something that will maintain its size.
Although my experience with the suede pants is extremely negative, I love the brand and will continue to shop at A+O.
I Don’t Recommend Their Face Masks
I’ve purchased several of their face masks. The materials and quality are very inconsistent. I was disappointed that the first batch was made in China, but the prints were nice and they were comfortable. When I made a second purchase, (Made in Thailand), the material was different, I was sent a color I hadn’t even ordered, and the quality was very poor. I don’t recommend their face masks and won’t be buying anymore from them.
I resent that I have to give them even…
I resent that I have to give them even 1 Star - their customer service is the WORST I’ve ever dealt with in my entire life. I ordered a mask back in April 13th... I realized that my Apple Pay still had my old address on file right when I ordered, so I called customer service immediately after ordering to update my shipping address, but they refused to. Then I asked if they can just cancel the order so that I can place a new one with my correct address, but they refused to do that as well. It is now upon June 1st and I STILL have not received the mask (Not sure if they are aware that we have been in a PANDEMIC?!). I contacted customer service again and pleaded with them to cancel my order because I’ve already purchased and received 6 other masks from other companies while I’ve been waiting for A+O’s for the past 2 months... of course, they refused. I have been an avid A+O customer, I have so many of their shoes and clothes that I’ve bought in stores, but NO MORE... I will never buy a single item ever again and boycotting the brand for life because of their terrible customer service.
Worst customer service
Ordered two face masks early on when they were released. Face masks were supposed to ship April 15th. The date has changed six times and they refuse to refund money or speak to me with any sort of respect. I will never buy from here again. Too many good companies and clearly this company has become a gross thing from yesteryear. Now it’s clear to me why nobody likes this brand anymore.
