Abysmal. On a par with Ryanair

Abysmal. Yet another one of these airlines that does everything they can to mislead you during booking, to screw you over at the gate when your bag is bigger than practically every other airline accepts as standard hand luggage.

Of course the website does it's best to obscure this fact through numerous screens offering you various 'special offers' but yet can't even seat me with my partner when made the booking for two. And then pulling a £70 charge on me at the gate for my bag.

Please, just boycott this company. It's not a reflection on Icelandic people (who are amazing) or the country (equally amazing). Fly with Easyjet if you're travelling from elsewhere in Europe & hopefully over time this company & it's like will collapse.

Utterly Incompetent

Terrible company, outward flight they left around 200 people's luggage behind and very slow at communicating the problem and sorting it out.

On my return flight they changed the flight time without telling me, refused to let me check in, told me to re-book the flight but then refused to let me even do that and said that all they could do was refund the taxes. I ended up having to book another flight with another airline at my own expense, and 15 months and numerous communications later still have not received any money back.

They often take several months to respond to emails, and staff on their phone-lines are poor at communicating and don't seem to care. The worst customer service I have ever experienced.

I recommend using a different airline, it is likely to work out cheaper in the end.

Worst airline ever

Worst airline ever. Screwed up my flights, twice. Failed to refund me for all of the delays and mess.

Shocking customer service. Appalling communication. DO NOT use this airline.

Our flight was cancelled on the morning of our departure. We were made aware of the cancellation by text and told to "fill in an online form" and await a response. We did not get one until 24 hours later at which point they tried to put us on a flight the day we were due to return. We attempted several times to call the UK phone number advertised for them on their website and found the line had been switched off so we could not speak to anyone. With no other option we ended up having to travel 2.5 hours to the airport to be given a cold and unsympathetic response by the check in staff and no available options for an alternative flight. Although the cancellation was due to bad weather in Iceland no attempt was made by the airline to reschedule our flight. To make matters even worse we learned whilst we were at the airport that they had used our flight slot instead to send an earlier scheduled flight. I have never known such appalling attitude, service and lack of communication. This company should not be operating. God forbid anyone who books with them and has an issue with their flight. It just seems that nobody at WOW Air wants to know about it. I'm now £1500 out of pocket for a break I could not get to and going through the stress of now trying to get a refund. I've already raised my experience with BBC Watchdog and intend to look at other ways to reach a resolution with this awful company.

wow air la catastrophe a éviter

Ne regardez pas que l aspect économique.Tout mis bout a bout est aussi cher qu'une compagnie avec le service en plus, repas, télé, bagages ... et un service client
Ils annulent des vols sans raison. Quand vous avez racheter un billet retour vous allez comprendre.
Service client en Inde nul nul nul et incompétent. Impossible de se faire rembourser ce que la loi leur oblige de faire. Ca dure depuis 6 mois

You should never order tickets with WOW Air!

We travelled from Copenhagen to Miami for one week holiday in summer 2017, and I ended up being delayed by an entire extra week because of cancellation of flights and they only have a single weekly flight! To top up the experience consider these aspects despite low prices:
- no free movies, blankets, food, beverages or even water on board (a long distance flight is long then...). All is to be paid and they only have cup noodles and anal sandwiches on board. The air condition is set to freezing so you have to buy a blanket for 70$.
- Their customer service phone numbers do not work (weird sound on all numbers, seems like a scam). It took me three days to get ahold of a WOW Air employee to help reorganise my flight (after it was cancelled and I was stuck)
- They try to get out of helping you with cancellations: (1) make it as difficult for you as possible to get home through them, so most end up getting refund and finding other (expensive, last minute) flights. (2) Claim to have a "short list" for people they provide hotel and food for despite flight cancellations - tried to trick me to pay for an entire extra week in Miami.

Given the long delay I was however (after 4 months) able to get my EU regulation claim of 600$ from them. They reorganised my flight to fly from Montreal so I could get home after 6 days (and not 8 from Miami). I initially expected to pay for flight and hotel to Montreal but they also paid this in the end.

However, I would never, ever (!) consider them again and urge anyone to not order flights despite lower prices. The company should be shut down.

So rude WOW staff

Well, personality I did not have any issues with them, but what I saw during departure time ... The passenger wanted to pay his penalty but his card has not been accepted since was American Express. They (airport staff) were so rude.

Terrible experience

Terrible experience. Just do yourself a favour and don't do it.

After talking to the unpleasant service I was charged for two carry on luggages although they fit the requirements, I am writing them a complain but am not expecting a miracle.

Elendigt flyselskab

Elendigt flyselskab. Kan virkelig ikke anbefale dette penge griske og generelt elendige flyselskab. De her baggage regler er for langt ude, og det koster mig næsten det samme at tage en håndbagage og check-in kuffert med om bord, som hele billetten koster. Forfærdeligt.

They pride themselves on being very "Wow" and are all humorous and fun when flying with them BUT, if you have any issues post flight they are incapable of providing any kind of customer service. I left my phone in the pocket of the aircraft, which was then (we assume) stolen. I have so far spent around 5-6 hours trying to communicate with them. They are not able to provide me with any kind of loss report (which my insurance company require) and they persistently refer me to the Icelandic police at Keflavik airport who will not provide this either. If you try to call them to speak to someone, it goes through to a call centre where they hardly speak English or Icelandic and then they just say that they deal with fares and tickets only. Facebook contact is an option but they have just replied with exactly the same (copy and pasted) response each time. Complete amateurs. Do not fly with them, fly with Icelandair instead.

Our flight from Düsseldorf to Iceland …

Our flight from Düsseldorf to Iceland was uneventful and fine. The prices for luggage were to be expected and although the flight was in no way cheap, it was cheaper than other airlines which is why we booked it.

The return flight from Iceland to Düsseldorf was however a fiasko. We were scheduled to fly at 6:10am but on the board it just kept getting later until it disappeared all together. There was nobody at the check-in counters to explain nor were there any WOW Air staff to be found.

In the end four ladies from the airport handed out meal vouchers and told us that our flight was delayed and they didn't have any information. The phone number they gave us was answered by a cheery recording saying that there was nobody in the office right now but to call back on a weekday. We were given meal vouchers approx. every 3 hours and after 7pm our flight (in a plane by some Portuguese airline I'd never heard of before) left for Cologne where we were then taken to Düsseldorf by bus.

All in all we had a delay of about 15,5h and we still don't know why. Nobody apologised, nobody got in touch. We eventually went to court with Flightright and won some recompensation.

It's still hard to believe that an airline cares so little for their passengers that they can't even show their face and tell us what happened.

Terrible customer service …

Possibly the worst customer service i've ever experienced. I wanted to add hold luggage to my booking and despite using 2 browsers i could not add them on their terrible website, i'm very computer savvy so i knew it was not my mistake and the option to add the bags just kept hanging without allowing me to confirm and pay. Not a big issue as i could ring up to add them on, or so i thought, the hold times on the phone are dreadful and the lady in the call centre told me i was lying to her and that the website was working fine, even when i reitterated that i'd used multiple browsers and it still wouldn't work. She told me she would charge £14 to make the amendment on the phone which would have been free if i could have done it online, she kept interrupting me and refused to let me speak to anybody more senior. Dreadful customer service even when you're trying to give them extra money, AVOID AT ALL COSTS. not worth the hassle.

I love how easy it is to book flights …

I love how easy it is to book flights and even change them. They are not the most forthcoming when you have delays but I am not sure many airlines are. I wish they would at least provide passengers with water to drink during nine hour flights without charging for it.

Cheap fares that will cost you

Fares may seem cheap, but be prepared for extra costs. Unlike most budget airlines you are only allowed 1 small piece of baggage for free. Here's what they say 'Included in the WOW airfare is one small personal item up to a maximum of 42x32x25cm/ 17x13x10in (10kg/22 lbs), such as a small bag/backpack, laptop or a camera bag. Must fit under the seat in front of you.' So anything ​else will cost extra - cabin luggage cost our friends approx £12 and checked-in hold luggage cost us £23.99 per piece per person.
Like others, our flight time changed prior to flying and then was delayed by over an hour on the actual day (we were traveling from Keflavík to Gatwick). So while the air crews were pleasant on the flight itself, the company's reliability, their miserly baggage allowance and lack of openess about these below-standard practices could make for a nasty surprise.
So if I were you I'd rethink using WOW Airlines and go with a company less likely to make your holiday planning unpleasant.

Wow airlines? The reviews are right! OW airlines. The service once we finally got on board was Ok. The 5 hr delay was not. What makes it even worse is they do not respond to their claims nor do they respond to their Web forms. Absolutely ludicrous. I don't understand how they are still operating after reading a lot of reviews. Do yourself a favour and avoid wow scarelines at all costs

They literally took us hostage!

Flying from Los Angeles to Dublin, with a stopover in Iceland. WOW Air experienced technical difficulties in Iceland, which is not a big deal, and it happens. The problem is that they kept us there for over 48 hours without ever telling us when the flight would be leaving. They shuttled all the passengers off to an old UN building where there were not enough beds for everyone and they never returned our luggage, nor were there telephones or internet access. We actually had to call the police to get WOW to return us to the airport and provide us with a flight to Dublin. This made the local television stations as well, I am not making this up. Stay away from WOW Air.
