7 phone calls, one and a half hours in total on one day and still no resolution!
My built in oven was bought when there was still a 5 year parts and labour warranty, 10 year parts only. I am at year 4, should be covered right? Right??
I registered my warranty on the Whirlpool Irish site when I bought the oven, have the number and all- do you think Whirlpool even recognise
it? Oh no, don’t even know who I am- kept sending me to Domestic and General who keep telling me that I am out of warranty so will only book me a standard out of warranty call out. Once Whirlpool customer service left Ireland and switched us to the UK for customer service it seems like they don’t want to help Irish customers. I have been a loyal whirlpool customer for over40 years, never again.
This 4 year old oven is indicating 180 degrees but is actually at 120 degrees, it’s blown the light bulb twice in the last 4 months and there is rust on the base- only 4 years old- definitely not fit for purpose!
Between the call out fee and parts, the cost would end up being at least half the price of a new oven and if anything goes wrong after 30 days it is going to cost me even more.
At the moment Bosch have a deal on that gives you €50 back and a 5 year warranty on certain models.
I have to say I will never buy from Whirlpool again and I would never recommend them to anyone.
Dreadful, can't get a repairer from Whirlpool
Dreadful. I have a fridge in Dublin needs fixing, and Whirlpool and Hotpoint numbers in Ireland go directly to the company in UK, who can't do anything. They gave me a different number to try, but exactly the same thing happened: back to UK who can't help me. Circular bull!
So, I will have to go to a generic repair company. If I have to get a new fridge, it won't be Whirlpool or Hotpoint.

I'm very unhappy with the engineer who came out to fix the issue. Dishwasher door at the end of the cycle opens and closes 30s after which is definitely not right. Enginer refused to fixed the issue. Replace or upskil your engineers. This one who came out to look at the problem was useless!!
Bad customer service
Have a whirlpool dishwasher and washing machine, both have broken down multiple times. They sell you an extended warranty through their partners domestic and general, however you cannot book a repair with domestic and general if you are an Irish resident, you have to contact whirlpool directly via phone. I have now been on hold to the whirlpool phone number for 45 minutes. No response via email or twitter. This is what I pay for an extended warranty for? Absolutely shocking customer service.
Appalling
3 weeks ago my dishwasher started to act up. I subsequently spent 1.5 hrs on the phone to customer service trying to organise someone to come and fix it. I have paid extended warranty on my dishwasher so I could avail of this service. After 1.5 hrs I had to give up as I had things to do. My husband subsequently took on the role of phoning the same number. After 2.5 hrs it rang out. This happened a number of times until finally somebody answered. My husband complained about the lack of people answering the phone and was then told they could not log the broken dishwasher job because they would have to deal with his complaint first! He was told to wait until they contacted him in relation to the complaint 🙈
They contacted him within a few days and organised for someone to call to the house to have a look at the dishwasher. Nothing further said about the complaint.
A very pleasant man called last Friday and inspected our dishwasher. He explained he would have to order new parts which would be available up fit the following Tuesday. He couldn’t guarantee it would be him fitting them but that some member of the Whirlpool staff would complete the job.
Today is Tuesday. My husband received a text this morning saying the repair man would be at the house within 40 mins. Finally! I was so delighted.
20 mins later I spot a Whirlpool van parked outside my gate. I watched from the window and presumed he was taking a coffee break because he made no effort to come to the house and ring the bell.
I decided to go downstairs and open the gate for him. As I approached the front door I saw him drive off without any effort to call in. Our doorbell is very loud and I had been watching out all morning for him. He chose not to bother with the job.
My husband then decided to phone the man on the mobile number he had texted from earlier. No answer. He then texted, no answer. Finally he tried ringing again and the phone had been switched off.
After approximately 10 hrs of phone time and little to show for it. I am certain I will never ever purchase any Whirlpool products again. I’ve realised very quickly that Whirlpool are not the easiest to contact or pin down to actually complete a job. Appalled at the lack of work ethic and customer service from this company.

I need someone to come fix the hob every 3 months. It is free while in the 2 years warranty and the people coming to fix are usually nice but that it exhausting and infuriating.
I want my money back. I'm reaching to CCPC at the same time. This service is horrible.
