Extremely unhappy with Whirpool appliances and service
Bought an expensive washing machine and drawer sensor died within 2 months. It'll take more than a week for the spare part to arrive. CSR was not helpful, transferred me to someone who has nothing to do with this. I can't even make a complaint. Store where it was bought was not helpful, I left a message and nobody called back. Will probably spend over a 200 eur on laundromat while waiting for a 2 month old machine to be fixed. Not buying anything Whirpool EVER again.

Whirlpool Combi Mircrowave issues
I have a Whirlpool Combi Micro Oven and Domestic & General cover with it. The unit is 18months old and it has a repeated vault that needs to be repaired for the third time. The touch screen stops working. The call out time is generally at least 7 days and i am without cooking each time, the repair took 10mins last time but only lasted 4 weeks, to replace the machine under the policy they have to repair it 3 times in 12 months so i will have to go through this experience at least one more time. to add insult to injury to raise a complaint you have to write a letter to Hotpoint (whirlpool) as they don't accept emails or phone calls. every way possible to avoid their responsibility, I would not recommend whirlpool and also would have no faith in Domestic and general policies.

Engineer was friendly, efficient and effective when he eventually arrived. As an Irish-based customer the Whirlpool support number was not helpful and it had to go through the retailer get engagement and book an engineer visit.

Whirlpool dishwasher disaster!
Purchased a Whirlpool dishwasher within the past year and nothing but trouble with it. We've had 4 different engineers out to look at it (which was exactly what the 1st 3 engineers did looked at it & did nothing) The 4th engineer on Fri 11th Oct. last was the only one to take off the front panel on the door and immediately discovered a loose wire, which was visible to my husband also, my husband asked if that was a loose wire and the engineer replied yes. He asked if any of the previous engineers had taken off the panel and looked for a fault which they hadn't done.
He replaced the front panel with a new panel & door lock. He also asked why the 3rd engineer hadn't replaced the lock as that was the problem in her opinion after I had explained to her how the lights would come on as if it was going to begin the washing cycle only to go off after a minute. The problem we were having with the machine was 9 times out of 10 it didn't work and I've lost count of the amount of times we had to empty the loaded machine to wash everything by hand, so the machine was just taking up space in our kitchen as it was of no use whatsoever most of the time. I dread to think of the consequences had the loose wire started a fire!!!!!!!!!! Must say the machine is very very quiet for the simple reason that it hasn't worked for most of the time. Would never, ever, recommend a Whirlpool appliance to anyone.

Excellent Repair Service
My dishwasher had a fault and I had an extended warranty. The engineers were professional, punctual and very knowledgeable. The first engineer who came out also diagnosed another fault.
The second engineer came out a week later with the new parts and repaired it in no time. My dishwasher was still useable, therefore, waiting for the parts did not affect the day to day usage.

Second Whirlpool product I've bought. The first one (dishwasher) wasn't very good, didn't last long, as in warranty gone, product gone. Learned later the salesman benefitted by pushing the Whirlpool brand, make sure to do your own research.
Which brings me to where I should practice what I preach.
This current (American style fridge/freezer) one appears to have been released with a design flaw that still wasn't remedied even though it was in stock for almost 2 years (just let it out and hope for the best). Gave problems the week it was plumbed in. Ice clogging internally causing leaks being the main problem, then the ice maker just gave up for a week and of course started working again the day before the engineer arrived.
In fairness customer service was good, 4 stars for that.
