If I didn't have to choose Westlake I wouldn’t

If I didn't have to choose Westlake, I wouldn't have. It's the biggest scam of a company. Customer service is terrible. One representative says one thing and another says something different. How are companies like this still open? We're already taken advantage of by the world, now by companies too! I'm thankful for the loan, but if I'd known all this would come from choosing them, I would have kindly walked away and just waited. #Unscrupulous #TerribleCustomerService #ShutThisCompanyDown
And I rate them less than a star.

5+ calls a day after being a day late on payments

They outright start to harass you after being late a single day on your payment. I get minimum of 5 calls a day, sometimes up to 10 even if I answer every single one of them. Unless you set up a payment for the future they claim there is no way to stop the calls. They call from a dozen different numbers to get around the daily call limits I assume, because they absolutely are breaking rules with how often they reach out. It's also not mattered how many times I tell them why I'm late on my payment, they never have any record of earlier calls and ask the same questions every single time. I tried just blocking their calls but as soon as I do they start calling from another number. I might expect this level of calls if I was several months late, bordering on repossession, but not for only a couple days late. I've tried explaining to them that the frequency of calls is way beyond what is aloud but no one seems to care.

this company is scammers

so i received a payoff balance of $950 back November 21 of 2024 . the same day i paid $450 and i told them i was going to pay the rest in december i split up the payments 4 days apart paid if off received my title in the mail and today, I get a email from them saying i still owe $490 . I still got the payoff quote email and i have the bank statements proving that i made the payments. I have perfect credit and perfect payment history , this place is the worst place i ever dealt with in my life

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. No help. NO resolvement.

WF decided to take more than one payment per month. When I called in to request my refund I was kept waiting on HOLD until the rep just hung up on me. I am currently still on hold.

You have a choice

All the negative reviews are accurate. Wish I’d of seen them prior o using them. I’m glad now they ghosted me and didn’t follow through. Gian Rivera was the rep that left me hanging. Curious if trustpilot will try to defend these people

PREDATORY LENDING AT ITS FINEST

I used this lending service in a pinch to buy a used car. This service lacks many of the perks to being an online lending bank, specifically for the purposes of making you pay additional fees. Email notifications either come late, or day of to increase the chances of a late fee. Free payment options are extremely limited, other options are available through third party payments for a fee. Paying off the loan early only happens through third party payment options, for a fee. Of course you can send in a check, and by the time they cash it to pay of the loan, you guessed it, accrued interest and a fee.
Customer service is terrible. The selection system on their call in help line is terrible. Email help is terrible, and they offer no actual help. Do you need your title number to register your car? Can only be done through a DMV for (surprise) a fee. And through fax, no less. What year is this, 1990? The whole experience is hand crafted to make you jump through hoops in order to rack up a few extra fees. Predatory lending at it's finest.

Terrible financial

Again...made my payment 4 days prior to the due date and the payment was not withdrawn from my bank. I got a email from them thanking me for scheduling the payment. I have call them again and fight with them to take the payment. Horrible financial institution. I didn't have a choice in who financed my truck, the Ford dealer did. Westlake is terrible. Going to talk with my Chase bank people about refinancing.

This place is horrible I would not…

This place is horrible I would not recommend using their service. I set up for automatic pay and they never took the money. Then want to charge late fees and insufficient funds fees. Once I noticed the fund aren't taken I have to call multiple times just to get them to take their money. On top of the fact they're continuously harassing me to verify and send them information that I have already sent multiple times. Ridiculous interest rates and customer service that you can't understand or speak to o clearly. If you have other options I'd suggest using them instead.

Repo vehicle for one month payment late

This company is ridiculous. Missed one payment by accident and they repo the vehicle. They repoed the vehicle the day the next payment was due. My wife called and they said they sent a paper in the mail which never got here. Think this company is like a crook. Now they want 2 months payments plus fees for the repo. I mean you have a phone number don't you think it would be smart to call the people at least once before you repo the car. I guess I am just not that into screwing someone out of their money for 1 month. I mean i heard you can get 3 payments behind with a company like g m financial and they don't repo the car. Not sure why this company thinks they are any better than another that they do it for one month. Pathetic.

Formal Complaint Regarding Unauthorized Payment Date Change and Excessive Late Fees

unauthorized change to my payment date and the excessive late fees that have been charged to my account.

I have reached out multiple times via phone and email about the payment date, which was unilaterally changed from the 16th to the 2nd of each month without my consent. When I asked to review the recording of this change, I was informed that my ticket would be closed without any resolution.

As a result of this change, I am now incurring $70 in late fees every month. I was told the date I originally selected was unavailable, and my payment was moved to the next available date without my agreement. Over the past four years, I have contacted your team numerous times regarding these late fees, and each time I was assured that the issue would be resolved. However, I have recently been told that I have only contacted your team twice regarding changes to my due dates, which is not accurate.

Additionally, I have requested access to the relevant call recordings, but my requests have been denied. This lack of transparency and accountability is unacceptable, and I feel that I am being unfairly charged.

I demand immediate action to address this situation. Please provide a resolution as soon as possible.

Not Okay

After looking at the very high number of 1-star reviews I guess this one will just add to the pile. I am one of the many that had their contract purchased by Westlake Portfolio Management, which was originally owned by US Auto Sales until they were liquidated. In my case I woke up to take my daughter to school on 10/23/24 and my car was gone. I immediately called the police in my area and Westlake. The police informed me that the car had been involved in an accident with another stolen vehicle on 10/22/24 while I was asleep.
I went to the police station to properly identify myself to see if the vehicle could be recovered. It was in in fact recovered but not able to be touched since it was part of an on-going investigation. I had full coverage insurance on the car. I told all of this to Westlake but here is when this story takes a very sharp left turn. On 10/29/24 I found out through my insurance company's claim adjuster that the car was a total loss. They prepared everything and I got the process rolling on my end to get Westlake in the loop.
The market value and settlement had been prepared and sent to Westlake by the insurance company. I purchased Gap insurance when I bought the car from US Auto. On 10/30/24 I called Westlake and asked for the insurance department to begin my gap claim. They sent me to the original holder of the Gap contract (Allied - Very good people by the way). Allied sent me back to Westlake and duly informed me that they were playing with me since they (Westlake) already knows Allied does not handle the claims from US Auto. **It gets worse!
I called Westlake another four times and was asked to be re-verified each time. This frustrated me because they refused to let me speak to the insurance department. Another three phone calls I was hung up on completely unprovoked. After 11 calls from 10:43am to 1:22pm they blocked my number so it would be re-routed to the main menu even if I pressed zero for customer service. At 1:40pm I got on my wife's phone and called but used my phone to record the call (I did inform the rep due to the very distasteful and disrespectful interaction I had with the other personnel). This lady finally gave me the correct contact number as well as the Gap insurance claim info.
The bottom line is my insurance company has completed everything and removed the total loss vehicle from the insurance and these (....) are holding up the process since I need all of the documents from them to close this account out and move on.
I don't want any class action law suit or any money from them unless they owe me from the insurance settlement. Due to the way they treated me regarding a vehicle I did not damage myself at all, (Never even a small claim) until some douche caused this situation. I just want Westlake Portfolio Management to do the right thing, F... off and be put out of commission by the powers that be for their very unprofessional business practices.

If I could give less than 1 star, I would.
I called to pay off my car, and the second I finally got a human being on the phone, the call went silent. I tried a second time because I thought it could've been a technology error. The second time I called and *finally* got past the robots, I was connected to someone who verified my identity and pulled up my account, then the call went silent. This comes across SO SCAMMY. If this was my first experience like this with Westlake, fine. But this is my third or fourth experience just like this. I wish I hadn't wasted six years in a contract with them!

I paid off my late husband’s note July…

I paid off my late husband’s note July 9. I was told that it would take 30-45 days to receive the title. Here we are, October 16th, and I have not received anything but the runaround. I’ve been hung up on multiple times. I’ve never had such a difficult experience. I PAID THE TRUCK OFF! I WANT MY TITLE!
I’m battling cancer and the recent death of my husband! I don’t need this stress! This company is deplorable. I’m reporting to the BBB and the AG.
Never do business with this group of scammers!

We’ve had a frustrating experience with Westlake & Raul Carrillo

Over the past several days, we’ve received multiple calls from your team, expressing urgency in completing this verification. While we understand the importance of these requests, we want to clarify that all VOEs are handled by our corporate office, which processes them in the order they are received. Unfortunately, we do not have the ability to expedite or prioritize these verifications, as they receive a high volume of requests.

Our team explained this process in detail to your staff, including a call today with Mr. Raul Carrillo, who requested to speak with someone in Spanish. Despite our efforts to provide clear communication, Mr. Carrillo proceeded to leave a negative and unprofessional review of our company on Google, which we believe does not accurately reflect the service we’ve provided.

Additionally, I attempted to call your verifications department on 10/11/2024 at 4:07 PM CST to speak with someone regarding this matter. Unfortunately, the agent I spoke with hung up on me before I could address the issue.

We respectfully request that this review be removed, as it was made in frustration over a process that is outside of our local branch’s control. We value our professional relationship with Westlake Financial and want to ensure that both companies are working together in a positive and respectful manner.

I work for a local car dealership and…

I work for a local car dealership and called requesting a lien release since we now own the vehicle, owned formerly by our mutual customer. The first customer service representative hung up on me almost immediately and the second representative was very rude telling me even though we own the vehicle that the customer had to request the lien release. They are very rude and need to work on their manners. I call banks all the time and have never been treated so poorly by anybody. Unacceptable. Please do better.

BEWARE

If I could give a negative score I would. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! Financed my car with them , tried making my payment only to not find an account. By the time I spoke with someone who could figure out they imput SS number wrong 17 days after payment was due. I made my payment only for them to sell contract back to dealer the very next day. I was told they would refund my $ in 21 days. That was the end ofay 2024 it is now mid August 2024 and still nothing. Several days/ hours later and nothing but different stories. Ask for manager callback and the do not call. Time to file law suit and the will now need to pay my lawyer fees also

Bad Service

These people don't help you out if your vehicle breaks down. My transmission went out, and we called to see if could the transmission bill on top of our vehicle payment and they said they don't do that, and so we asked if we could refinance it as well, again they said they don't do that either, so my vehicle ended up getting repoed, after it got repoed they fixed my vehicle and sold it the next day, for a much higher price. They sent us a letter saying they wanted us to pay them more money for the vehicle, we didn't send them a damn dime. Weeks go by and we get a phone call telling us that they refinance the vehicle we lost, we told them we no longer had it and that they sold it without us knowing until after they already sold. They continued to tell us that we still owed them money and they wanted their payments, we told them no because why are going to pay for something they repoed, fixed and sold it. Yeah no this financial company is a joke.

They destroyed my credit and constantly find new ways to mess with you

I was late with half a payment for my car. Westlake stated that they would roll it onto the end of my loan and there would be no issues. They never did and it resulted in 18 months of 30 day past to the credit bureaus and destroyed my credit. I have on record that they told me that even though it was their mistake they won't fix it and it's my problem. When I got that taken care of, they tried to say that I no owed a "late fee" in excess of a full car payment. When I got so sick of them I paid the loan off in full, two days later a received an insufficient funds notice and fee. According to my bank, they never even tried to process the payment. This company is horrific. the resulting damange to my credit has cost me potential jobs and business opportunities.

Customer service is bad

Customer service is bad. One month late repo. Then after I paid, same day as repo, I couldn't get my car back because they did not release it for two weeks. I will never take a loan with them again.
