This has been the smoothest sale of a property I've ever had. I had three valuations of my property, two of which undervalued my property, Emily from the South Molton branch valued it at what I thought it was worth, had i gone with the other two quotes I'd have been £10,000 out of pocket! There was never any pressure from Webbers, kept me updated on how the sale was progressing.

Nathan was not helpful at all!
Terrible service from Nathan over the past couple of weeks! Absolutely impossible to book a site view on their Launceston site. Wanted a Saturday visit, but apparently no one there to do it. Tried for a Monday visit, but two days later Nathan had still not come back to me. Running two businesses myself for 25 years now, there is no way I will be dealing with this company going forward. If the service is like this to start with, goodness only knows how I would go on if I had a problem with the NHBC 10 year warranty (Buildmark)!

Great team
It took 18 months to sell our property but the team from Webbers were very good during the whole process of selling. We got to the stage of selling then had a real problem yet the team came up trumps and we sold the property within 6 weeks. From the depths to selling and the team worked really hard to make that happen so a heartfelt thank you from me.

Deliberately misleading information
I moved to Barnstaple in September and spoke to Webbers Letting in the town about letting an advertised studio, and raised whether or not I would need a guarantee. Their response was that it was illegal under the new law, that guarantors aren’t, permitted for rentals because they don’t take responsibility for anything, and it would need advice from the manager. This was categorically untrue. It is NOT illegal, the new law has not been enacted yet, and even if it had permits guarantors. The simple answer is that they couldn’t be bothered!
I approached a second letting agent and secured a property, and they confirmed that the information provided by Webbers was untrue. Furthermore, I work for a Local Authority who confirmed the same.
My advice is not to trust Webbers Lettings in Barnstaple, check with other agents before accepting what they say, and pity the landlords who lose good tenants as a result.

I went in twice and spoke to two different female staff. In the first case, it was a Saturday and there was one member of staff who couldn’t even be bothered to sit up or offer me a seat. No notes were taken by the member of staff and I left within 5 minutes having been effectively dismissed and told guarantors were against the law. Having discussed the legislation with housing colleagues I went in a second time. This was a weekday and the office was fully staffed but without customers. This second member of staff was not corrected or advised otherwise by other staff members. My details were not taken despite me asking that they were, as guarantors weren’t allowed as they never took responsibility and she would need to ask a manager. Even then, she showed no intention of doing so or even checking with another colleague. There was absolutely no interest, so I left.

I think that says it all - as I said no one took any details or made notes of my query.
No one is going to admit to responding to a customer query in the fashion that they did, or not following company protocols.
My review is accurate, genuine and honest, and I can provide a description of both members of staff if that helps!
I’m not prepared to debate my experience of your branch or customer service and my review stands.

Your description of events does not reflect our processes, our legal guidance, or the way enquiries are handled in our Barnstaple offices. We do not advise that guarantors are “illegal” — nor have we issued any internal guidance that could support such a statement.
Additionally, we keep records of all walk-in enquiries, and there is no trace of a visit matching the details you have provided, nor any staff recollection consistent with your account. The suggestion that multiple members of staff would provide identical incorrect legal advice, or refused to take your details upon request, does not align with how our office operates.
Please be assured that if such an incident had been brought to our attention at the time we would have gladly investigated to establish the facts. Despite the passage of time, if you are able to provide verifiable information — such as the date, approximate time, or the name of the staff member you spoke with — we will happily review it. In the absence of this, we are unable to find any evidence supporting the claims made.
