Shameful response
I recently purchased 3 sets of of bifold doors from Vufold . The sales team were helpful and delivery efficient however when we came to fit our doors ,3 weeks later, one of the doors was damaged on the bottom edge . I contacted Vufold immediately, sent pictures , and when they seemed to imply that the damage had occurred after delivery explained that I’d taken delivery personally and had stored them flat on the floor of an unused room , wrapped , so was sure the damage wasn’t done post delivery. Vufold refused to replace the door saying it should have been checked within 72 hrs of delivery and pictures of the packaging taken before removal. They did offer to sell me a replacement door . Sadly I will not be using this company again.

We are sorry to hear of your disappointment and that we could not resolve your complaint.
Unfortunately, had you contacted us within 72hrs of delivery to report the damage we could’ve rectified the issue. However, as the door had been in your possession for three weeks before you got in touch with us, there is no way of knowing where the damage occurred, and this falls outside of the guidelines issued to you on and after placing your order.
Our products are thoroughly inspected prior to dispatch, and you did not report any damages on the driver’s paperwork, therefore, this led us to believe your order arrived in the same perfect condition that it left us in. Had you been able to provide us with any pictures of damaged packaging that would indicate that the door had been damaged in transit, of course we would have been able to resolve the issue right away.
When taking deliveries it is always advisable to thoroughly check for any damage straight away so that immediate action can be taken to rectify any problems. Once the goods have been in a customer’s possession for a period of time it becomes very difficult to ascertain when and how any damage may have occurred.
Again, we are sorry that we could not resolve this issue for you due to the delayed communication of the complaint. Should you wish to take us up on the offer of a replacement door, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Excellent service, competitive price
We used VuFold for a set of 3300mm new bifold doors. VuFold ended up being one of the cheaper - or more competitive - of the suppliers we used for our extension but also, happily, one of the best. I have been so impressed. The team noticed a fault with a glass pane before it was even delivered. The ease with which they put this issue right was impressive. We would recommend them to anyone.

Fantastic internal bifold doors.
I ordered two sets of 1500mms prefinished, white, glazed bifold doors in December and they arrived shortly after ordering. They were installed by by our kitchen fitter, who had no previous experience with this type of system, and he was impressed by how easy they were to fit and the quality of the product, as indeed I am. They have made huge difference to our bungalow, giving an open look and easy access to our lounge/ dining room, kitchen and hall. Customer service has been excellent throughout and I would recommend Vufold without reservation.

We are sorry to hear that you are unhappy with our service and that you felt compelled to leave us a negative review, particularly as we have offered you a full refund to resolve your issue.
We understand that you were disappointed that your wooden front door didn’t arrive pre-fitted with the accessories that you’d selected as optional extras, and that you felt like you’d been misled at point of sale.
Our website clearly instructs that wooden front doors require professional installation and at no point implies that they come pre-fitted with hardware. Any accessories would be fitted as part of the installation, hence us including an installation guide on the same webpage.
Please understand that this is standard practice across the timber industry - wooden doors and hardware are sold as separate elements, intended to be professionally fitted on-site. Had you advised us that you were looking for a door with pre-fitted hardware we would have recommended a UPVC or composite front door instead.
We are keen to resolve this issue with you, especially as it has arisen over a misunderstanding and not due to any fault with the goods supplied.
We have offered to issue you with a full refund for both the door and accessories on return of the goods. Your abrupt ending of our telephone correspondence, plus your refusal to return the products to us (as stipulated in Consumer Contracts Regulations), has left us unable to proceed with your refund. We urge you to get back in touch with us so that we can resolve this matter.

We have been readily available to assist with and respond to your correspondence throughout this process, and far from refuting the warranty, we have simply requested that you allowed us the time to fully explore and resolve the issue.
Due to the nature of your complaint—condensation appearing on the exterior of the door for a short time in the morning, and only in certain weather conditions—we asked you to monitor the door over a period of time to help us identify the source of the problem.
As our manager explained to you, with the condensation only appearing on the exterior of the door and the speed in which it disappears, it is clear that the door is doing its job and not allowing heat to escape. We want to make sure that the condensation forming on the exterior is a climate related issue as opposed to a problem with the door itself. For the same reason, this is not cause for us to offer compensation as requested by yourself. If the problem persists we will take further action, and thank you for agreeing to monitor the situation.
Please be assured, your guarantee stands as at point of purchase for any problems that should arise due to the performance of the door.

Our builder recommended Vufold doors for our Cornish coastal home and we are delighted with them.
Vufold's products are excellent, but what surprised us was their exceptional after care service which is not often found these days. After five years continual use, a lock developed a fault. Vufold sent a professional locksmith to repair it at no cost to us. We hadn't realised the doors had such an extensive guarantee.
Cannot recommend this company highly enough.

High Quality doors at an affordable price
We recently purchased Vufold 3 panel oak bifold doors, which were delivered within 3 days of the order. From placement of the order, until delivery Vufold and the carrier kept us up to speed with progress.
The doors were fitted yesterday by our joiner, who could not believe the outstanding quality of the doors and hardware.
Products quality and service is a must for me when dealing with a company and I would highly recommend Vufold and their oak bifold doors to any prospective customer.

I would like to send a message in a way if thanks for the recent delivery of my bifold doors. Every part of looking at designs beforehand via videos, pictures, to speaking to a member of the sales team who was very knowledgeable and honest with your products, to communication between us from order to delivery has been first class. The packaging of the doors was to a very high standard and fitting them was a doddle with them having been pre-assembled and adjusted. Unfortunately it seems rare these days that such high quality services and products remain good value. I will be recommending your doors to others abs my builder has also recommended another customer to your products. Was also looking at similar products from other retailers for similar prices but went with Vufold as was impressed with the ability to actually see all parts of the doors in videos beforehand. I thought that this extra polished marketing would come at an increased cost but it really didn’t. Very impressed - thank you

I bought Vufold doors in 2011 and was very happy with them. In 2016, and again in 2021 I had a repeating problem. On both occasions the after care service was second to none. Undoubtedly one of the best after care services I have ever had.

Excellent After Sales Service
We had a problem with the bottom bolt on one of our doors which had jammed. The after sales team were incredibly helpful and prompt in their responses. The issue was identified and a new bolt is in the post for me to swap.

Vufold Aluminium Bi-Fold Doors
We purchased a set of aluminium bi-fold doors, 3 leaves with one door. The advice was a competent DIY person could fit these; once manufactured they were set up in the factory to ensure they were true so should require no adjustment as long as the opening was prepared accordingly. A full pack of shims was included if any adjustment was required. Although nervous, we chose to install these ourselves rather than having the fitter install them, a saving of £500.
The fitting went well, we experienced an issue with the top runner mechanism on the central door, the drawing advised this needed to be removed and reinstalled once the door was insitu, however it made no sense as (a) there was no allan key in the pack and all other tooling required was included and (b) the mechanism didn't bear any resemblance to the drawing. A quick call to technical adviced advised the drawing was out of date and you could install the door by tilting it into position without the requirement of removing the mechanism. This worked a treat.
We were about to purchase doors from Stafford and a recommendation made us transfer the order to Vufold. The quality was also top class (our doors have passed building regs with flying colours) and a lot cheaper. I would thoroughly recommend these doors.
A minor blip upon install and as advised when we placed the order, their support team were on hand to answer the questions.

A Tradesman's view.
I write this review as a Joiner/furniture maker/craftsman of over 40 years experience. I bought a set of Oak Bi-folds for my own home and have been totally impressed with the quality of the timber production, engineering, finish (factory finished) and supplied hardware. The delivered presentation is meticulous in labelling and hardware packing and the instruction booklet pretty spot on as long as you spend some time reading it and familiarising yourself with it. The videos are excellent, which I missed, I only saw them after I'd fitted the doors but was pleased that there was only one step that would have been simpler had I viewed it first.
I had extensive email communications before I ordered and have had various emails answered since, all quickly and helpfully. I am absolutely recommending Vufold to all of my trade contacts, friends, and apprentices that I have taught. If you are a competent and precise do-it-yourselfer you should have no real issues fitting these but, the end result is all in the prep and getting the frame fitted properly, if that's not correct the issues will be yours not Vufolds.

The vufold internal doors are exactly…
The vufold internal doors are exactly as described both timber and fittings are 1st class . The only minor gripes and advice I would like to pass on is that the clearance at the bottom of the doors is minimal and with the lower catch being pre made it complicates any planing.
Also as with many of the jobs the structural part of our project was delayed and we didn’t realise some semi specialist screws were missing vu fold say I’ve left it to long and they want £10 for 8 screws which seems a little excessive to keep a customer happy .
May use again but probably use howdens for a more flexible customer service

The product you purchased is a ‘ready to assemble’ door set, it is pre machined to ease installation and supplied in a set size, which does not require trimming.
We are sorry to hear that you experienced some delays with your project, whilst we do try to be flexible with timescales for reporting missing parts, the screws were not reported as missing until 4 weeks after delivery; we have no way of knowing if they were accidentally misplaced during this timeframe.
After reviewing the photos you supplied, it does appear that you have installed some screws in the wrong location, this may be the reason you believed you were initially missing the screws. We did try to call you to discuss this with you, unfortunately we were unable to get through.
As you are happy with the quality of your Vufold doors, we do hope that you will consider purchasing from us again in the future.
If you do still require additional screws and / or wish to discuss the screw locations, please do not hesitate to contact a member of our aftercare team and they will be able to assist you further.

Vufold internal bifold doors
We purchased Vufold Finesse internal bifold doors which were on offer at time of purchase. The price was very fair. The ordering process was very straightforward and delivery was extremely prompt. The doors and door furniture were extremely well wrapped and faultless. Our installer found the doors very easy to fit, with very accurate measurements - he said they were the best he had come across. We are delighted with them and would without hesitation purchase from Vufold again. Highly recommended!

Your order was dispatched to you on 29/03/2021, we did not hear anything from you until 3 months after delivery when you contacted us to advise you were missing a fixing for your handle. Although the product had been with you for some time, and we had no way of knowing if it had been misplaced, we immediately offered to try and source a spare fixing for you. Unfortunately, we were unable to obtain just the single part you required. The fixings come as one complete handle and fixing pack; however, we did offer to supply you just the fixing pack at a cost £9.99 including VAT and delivery. After we informed you of this, we did not hear anything further from you until receiving your review.
We do feel that based on you having the doors for 3 months before reporting the missing fixing, we did all we could to assist you.
We have many positive reviews from customer who have been happy with the service they have received, we are sorry that on this occasion we did not meet your expectations. If you do still require a fixing pack, please do not hesitate to contact a member of our aftercare team who will be able to assist you further.

Faulty hinge on French doors. Case: 55-39876
We ordered the Master French Doors a few weeks ago. Unfortunately one of the hinges supplied was faulty, which we did not discover until it came to adjust it with an Allen key – the slot for the Allen key was rounded and not angled so we could not turn it. Very frustrating. We tried other tools to force it to turn but to no avail. I contacted Vufold to ask for a replacement. What then took place was back and forth with their technical team for two weeks. I sent them photos and videos of the hinge, and they kept saying that I had put them in a difficult situation and that I would have to pay for a new hinge as I had damaged it. The hinge cost less than £30 so I decide not to argue any more as we just needed the door installed. It's now three weeks since the doors arrived and they are still not able to shut properly and keep the weather out.

We are sorry that your experience has led you to writing this review. Whilst the majority of our customers are extremely satisfied with both the product and service received, it is important for us to learn from any mistakes we may have made in order to implement improvements. However the feedback needs to be fully authentic in order for us to do so, with this in mind there are a few points that we would like to address.
You contacted us 13 days following delivery of your doors to report an issue with one of the hinges supplied and discussed this further with a member of our aftercare team. We then requested photographs to allow us to investigate the issue. The images you kindly supplied showed rounded Allen keys slots and damages to the hinge. You mention that the damages were not noticed until you came to adjust the hinges, however we do feel due to the significance of the damage this would have been visible when checking the parts and before fitting the hinges to the door and frame. As the hinges had been fully installed, this made it very difficult for us to ascertain where the damage had been caused, the slots appeared to have been forced or the incorrect tool used.
The following day you requested a price for a replacement hinge and asked how you could make payment. We tried to call you on the same day to process the order for you and left a voicemail for you to return our call. Despite you already agreeing to pay for a replacement hinge and us setting an order up for you to make payment, we then received a video from you of the hinge installed, however it did not demonstrate anything further than what had already been presented to us. We offered you the option to send the hinge back so we could inspect it, however you did not respond to this. We did not hear anything from you until 7 days later when you requested we send the replacement hinge to you and you asked if we needed anything further from you in order to process the payment.
