I purchased a number of products from Vu-Fold, one being a 5 x1m Aluminium bi-folds that clearly claim toeing and heeling is not required in the brochure and is carried out in production, the doors were installed and over the course of a few months the doors fell off the rails and could have seriously injured someone, upon sending numerous photos and videos after almost a year for help I was told to pay over £400 for someone from Vu-fold to attend my house and they will decide if the get the money gets returned. I got 3 experienced glaziers involved who all advise me the door frame was perfectly installed, the issue is with the vu-fold doors and they do need toeing and heeling. This has now been completed at my cost, as such Vu-fold have now reneged on the warranty and any financial support to fix their failings. The doors are very good now they are safe, but the given the severity of the problem and the video footage one would expect them to check it first and then charge me, not charge me undetermined liability and me try and get the money back. The glazier didn't charge me until he finished the job......Customer Services is clearly financially motivated and not safety driven. Other quality issues were missing screws and issues with the length of the rubber seals, vu-fold did send new screws, but the replacements seals were sent for me to cut and install myself. Overall I am really sad about my experience with Vu-Fold, the doors now work well thanks to me sorting it, but I don't feel they took any responsibility for a problem that clearly sat in their production process, unless your willing to fund their trip to see their faulty product.

We are sorry that you are unhappy with your purchasing experience with us. We must stress, however, that the issue could have been quickly resolved, had you instructed us to inspect the door when you first notified us of the problem.
When you first got in touch with us, we immediately offered to send a production engineer out to inspect the door and carry out any necessary adjustments on site, but your refusal to pay the refundable call-out fee prevented us from doing so.
A fully refundable call-out fee for post-sale inspections is standard industry procedure, especially in instances such as this, where the inspection would have incurred a 500 mile round trip. The fee is in place to cover the engineers time and fuel, should the problem be unrelated to the manufacture of the door, e.g. damage caused through installation, misuse etc. As we reiterated, this fee would have been immediately refunded in the case of the issue being a manufacturing fault and any work to rectify the problem would be carried out free of charge.
Since the three independent fitters that you called out all stated that the glass needed re-balancing, the work would have been covered and the call out fee would have been refunded. With this in mind, we are unsure as to why you paid an independent fitter to carry out the work at an additional cost to yourself. Unfortunately, by making your own adjustments to the doors this now affects certain elements of the warranty, as it makes it very difficult to assess whether any future operational issues are due to the works that have been carried out.
In terms of the screws and seals, these were immediately dispatched as soon as we were notified that they were missing, including a longer strip of seal to allow for precision trimming on site. As you purchased the door for self-installation the items were sent out as such.
We are pleased to hear that you are now happy with your doors, however, we wish that we had been able to resolve the issue in the standard procedure.

Incredible service. Beautiful doors
We ordered a set of oak and glass internal bifolds. Incredibly delivery was only three days. The doors were beautifully wrapped and look really lovely now they are installed. We were missing one tiny end cap which was sorted for me very quickly. The website is very easy to use. Absolutely happy to recommend to anyone looking for doors and would definitely use again should we require anything.

The pre-drilling is a key point you have kindly highlighted, and one that does separate us from most other door suppliers. Whilst there are what appear at face value cheaper alternatives on the market, costs can soon add up with lengthy installation times and cause much frustration with the amount of unexpected and additional works required. Our Bifold door sets are 'ready to assemble' saving time, stress and unforeseen costs. It is great to hear our extra efforts have not gone unnoticed.

🚨 WARNING: PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING FROM VUFOLD 🚨
I currently have an unresolved issue with Vufold regarding a faulty, non-functional front door that has caused me and my family enormous stress and expense.
I ordered a door that arrived bowed and impossible to operate — confirmed by my professional installer after two full days of work. The door has a 7mm bow, which Vufold claimed was within “tolerance.” In my 15+ years in the construction industry, I can confidently say that a 7mm deviation on a front door is absolutely not acceptable, especially when it prevents the door from closing or locking properly.
I first reported the fault on 17th May, and at that point, I was told I’d receive a replacement door within 4–5 weeks. That never happened. I had zero communication until I posted my initial review — only then did they reply.
Throughout this process, I have been accused of trying to get a free door, which is insulting and completely untrue. I’ve spent additional money on professionals to fit, then adjust, and now potentially remove the faulty product.
Despite acknowledging poor communication, their final stance was that I must pay again to have the faulty door removed and made available for them to collect, if I want a refund. This is absolutely unreasonable for a large, fitted product that was defective from the start.
Even more concerning:
• They refused to let me speak to anyone higher up, stating: “It is myself who you would need to deal with regarding matters.”
• When I tried to resolve it calmly, I was told: “Unfortunately, I do not feel you are interpreting my communications as intended.”
• I have since involved Trading Standards and reported all correspondence to them.
To anyone considering buying from Vufold — please be aware:
If you have any issues with your order, expect delays, poor communication, and zero accountability. Once you’ve installed their product, they’ll make it incredibly difficult (and expensive) to get help.
I genuinely regret choosing them over a local supplier. The product looked great online, but the reality has been weeks of stress, wasted money, and a front door that doesn’t work.

We are sorry to receive another negative review from you on here and another reviews platform, despite us trying our hardest to resolve your complaint in a professional and courteous manner in person.
To clarify, we have offered to refund the full cost of the door and collect it from your property on multiple occasions. This resolution was offered to you at the initial point of complaint, and importantly, prior to the door being fitted, this offer has also been maintained throughout.
As we have explained, we would collect the door from the site at a time convenient to you and there will be no requirement for the door to be lifted or transported anywhere by yourself. We have simply requested that you make the door available to us. Your refusal to make the door available for collection is only serving to extend your inconvenience.
In terms of the time frame, we have kept you informed of any delays and endeavoured to shorten lead times wherever possible. A fault with the product itself was acknowledged without question, with actions taken to rectify the issue. Likewise, any delays or confusion with the communication on our part has been acknowledged with apologies issued both verbally and via email. We have expressed our apologies for any stress or disruption caused to yourself and your family, however, this could quite easily have been avoided had you allowed us to simply collect the door from you when you first expressed that you were not happy with it, and before the product had been installed.
Aside from any issue with the product or service, we are unsure why you insisted on fitting a door that you believed to be ‘cheap and nasty’, knowing that you were unhappy with the quality prior to installation. Furthermore, we do not understand why you have not previously reported to us that your door is ‘stuck and non-functional’ until leaving this review on 21/06/23, especially with this being a front door. We do not believe it unreasonable to expect this to be reported immediately to us. As someone as experienced as yourself in the trade, and in particularly with installing doors from several different suppliers, we are sure you are familiar with this as best practice.
As you have refused to assist us in retrieving the door, while still insisting on a refund via your bank, we had no option but to engage the advice of a solicitor to understand how to move things forward. We are also confused why you state we are trying to 'fight the case' and that you have involved trading standards, as we have offered to issue you a full refund on numerous occasions. Far from threatening or insulting you, we simply wish to retrieve goods that you are not happy to keep and pay for. Confirming our correct handling of the situation, we have been advised to encourage you to make the door available for collection as soon as possible. To reiterate, we can offer you a full refund as soon as we are in receipt of the door.

Quality internal bi-fold doors
Great looking, quality doors that slide very smoothly. These doors have opened up part of our downstairs to provide a bit more of an open plan feel, but with the ability to close them when needed.
We had a carpenter fit them and he was relaxed at how easy they were to install. One thing to be aware of is to read the instructions. Our carpenter put the middle door hinges on the wrong way so that with the doors fully open, they needed to fold slightly further back than just 90 degrees. This is not a problem for our set up as it folds into a gap and nicely. But for the doors to stack at 90 degrees when open ensure the hinges are on the right way around.
I did feel that the blinds were a bit expensive. However, they look great, work well and allow some privacy between rooms. We didn’t use the magnets to hold the doors open, as we didn’t need it, but did use the door stopper, which helps hold the door fully open otherwise it stays open at 90 degrees. The trackless design works well to create the flow of the room, there is a little bit of flex when opening, but this is fine and to be expected.
I did leave a message for customer services when I thought the doors had a mark on them (which turned out to not be the case and my mistake), and I also wanted to check on the blinds (which I hadn’t realised were due to delivered at a different date). The customer service team responded by phone and email within an hour and were excellent – thanks Cheryl and Frankie.
Overall, great doors and Vufold were excellent to work with. The doors have made a huge improvement to our house. Thanks.

Poor experience
Received my door with excess paint on the glass and insufficient paint in other areas. I have been told to clean off the excess paint and repaint the door myself. I was expecting to receive a finished door, but sadly this was not the case. The pictures look great, however, not value for money!

We are sorry to hear of your disappointment, and that this has led you to leave a 1 – star review. We do completely agree that you should not have experienced the issue, however we are also disappointed to only receive a 1 out of 5 star rating based on the situation.
You initially reported damage to a door that we had know way of knowing where this occurred since leaving us to being fully installed, hence we refuted your claim and that is why we provided advice on the paint works required.
After reviewing the latest images you kindly provided, we do accept that 1 of the 5 door panels had been supplied to you in a condition that did not meet our usual high standards and it should not have passed through our quality control checks, for this we are sincerely sorry, and this has been addressed with our production team.
Although the same single door should not have arrived with paint marks on the edge of the glass, as we should have done a better job in protecting the glass during the spraying process, rather than telling you to, we simply requested that you see if you can try to remove it from the glass. As you had fully installed the doors, we thought this a much easier process for you than having to uninstall the door and then re-install a replacement door if the paint could be easily wiped off.
The reason we initially handled your query the way we did and despite our best efforts to request you check all the items within a reasonable timeframe and before arranging the installation, was because you reported the issues to us 17 days after delivery and after the product had been fully installed.
We can confirm the internal bifold doors you were supplied are a fully finished door set, and we are sorry that we did not meet your expectations regarding accepting liability for the damage. We were surprised to receive your review on here and another reviews platform as we were still in contact with you and were trying to obtain clearer images of the issue from you. Since receipt of the images, and despite the damage, we have agreed to replace this door for you.
We are sorry for the initial issue and we hope that once your replacement door arrives and has been swapped over, you get many happy years of use from your Vufold doors.

Custom built & custom sized Vufold doors, built to our specifications fitted perfectly!
I ordered custom built & custom sized Vufold Finesse internal folding sliding doors with 3 frosted glass panels built to our specifications back in October 2022 to fit a non standard sized aperture. Doors were made in Indonesia. They arrived 23-2-23 ( expected delivery date) I've had the doors fitted & they fit perfectly! The carpenter said the instructions and video were very useful, the fitting was relatively straight forward, its handy that the door mechanisms are reversible. Shane & Francesca in particular were very helpful, professional, polite & informative with detailed responses. Francesca kept me apprised of the progress of the doors journey into port & updated me with anticipated delivery date, what to expect & the process. There were 2 delivery men to deliver the doors into the required room.
The ONLY thing I would say is that the doors could do with extra packaging on the corners of each door panel as I noticed the delivery guys rested the doors on the ground on the corners which could have damaged them?
All in all, I can whole heartedly recommend this company Thank you!

I will be a repeat customer!
I bought a set of internal bi-fold doors from Vufold and have to say that I couldn't be happier. All the way through the process, the team at Vufold were helpful, professional and courteous. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them. Due to needing non-standard sizes, we had a 12 week lead time on our order but the communications from Vufold were timely and informative (not just 'holding emails').
The doors themselves are really well made with very high quality door furniture which provide a really smooth action. Our builders/fitters commented that they'd fitted loads of bi-folds in the past but these ones were really good. They also noted that the included instructions were extremely detailed and this made fitting a simple task.
When I need more, I'll definitely being buying from Vufold again.

Do not buy Status bifold doors from Vufold if you live in a marine environment
I bought two Status bifold doors last summer. They were fitted in my newbuild at the start of October. I live near the sea and Vufold sales advised paying extra to get marine grade powder coating on the doors. What they did not say was that the hardware on the doors would not last any time in a marine environment. Since they were fitted in the newbuild in October, the doors have not been opened, as the building has been surrounded by scaffolding that was removed only at the start of February. Yet by mid-February, four-and-a-half months after fitting, the hinges were corroding badly -- the satin nickel is pealing off and they look awful. How long they will carry on working smoothly, I do not know. Even hinges inside the doors, ie that have not been getting rained on at all, are corroding in this way. Vufold have said they will provide replacement hinges that are powder coated but can give no assurance that they will last a good length of time. They do not sell marine grade hinges. They will not give money back. The bifolds were very expensive. I am writing this because I do not want anyone else to go through the same awful experience. Do not buy these bifolds if you live anywhere near the sea.
Following Vufold's reply:
Two points:
Firstly, no one has responded to the fact that even internal hinges that have not got wet have corroded. It could well be that the hinges don't last well wherever you live.
Secondly, had I been advised to have black powder-coated hardware at the sales stage, there is no way I would have bought these bifolds. With black hardware they do not match any other windows or doors on my newbuild. I was offered no element of refund, and no stainless steel hardware was available. So I have accepted the black powder-coated hardware as the only way to try to keep my extremely expensive bifolds working. But it is not a satisfactory solution.
I remain bitterly disappointed in my purchase and would recommend no one to buy these bifolds, to be honest wherever they live.

We are sorry to hear that you have encountered difficulties with the hardware on your bi-fold doors. Reviewing the situation, we can see that there was an oversight on our part at the point of ordering and we most certainly should have stipulated black powder coated hinges instead of the Satin Nickle ones ordered, offering further protection from the elements.
In hindsight, and following your agreement for your doors to go through the Marine Grading process, we should have found out more about the environment in which the doors were intended for and advised accordingly, for that oversight we can only apologise. We have, however, since agreed to swap the weathered hardware with black powder coated replacement hinges.
As you have not reported any problem with the doors themselves, and the problem with the hardware is an environmental rather than manufacturing issue, unfortunately we cannot offer you a refund.
While the new hinges are not classed as Marine Grade, the coating will offer enhanced protection from the elements, and we are confident that once fitted you will have no further problems with your doors. Due to the exposed aspect of your property, it would be advisable to regularly maintain the doors and hardware to keep them in optimum condition.
