Wine purchasing and selling experiences have been great. Delivery performance has been good in SF but uneven out of state. And adjusting storage after deliveries has been slow
I have been a Vinfolio customer for many years. However, recently I have had several bad experiences with billing mistakes and failure to get an order ready for pick up as promised. Not sure why, but Vinfolio seems to have slipped.
Fantastic idea. I have used this storage service for many years. Over the last few years the service has slowly degraded. Winery pickup was the best value they offered but this is no longer very valuable. Incoming wines take months to be placed into the system. Fess have increased. Response to email inquiries is about 1 in 3.
Quite disappointed specifically with Vincellar. With the high cellar fee, I expected better service and technology integrated to it.
Let me start by saying I have been loyal customer for over 9 years and I have over 1,300 bottles of wine in storage at Vinfolio. Additionally, I have spent an average of over $30,000 a year over the past couple of years on storage fees and wine purchases for each of those years. To be honest, the Vinfolio service has never been very good, as I consistently need to double and triple check inventory and purchases. I would estimate Vinfolio is between 85% & 90% correct and accurate, which is very concerning when you think that I have had to account for over 150 bottles of wine during my membership with Vinfolio that they have lost or mis-inventoried. When I do find an error, it takes months and in one case over a year to correct the issue. I have stated multiple times that I am concerned about the accuracy of Vinfolio’s inventory on my account and Vinfolio has acknowledged that there is truly reason to be concerned. Lastly, if I send wine to Vinfolio to be stored it takes over 4 months on average for it to show up on my account and recently, it seems even longer.
On the bright side, Sarah Parker has been great, as she is the only person in all my years that has consistently followed up and been affective in correcting my issues. When anything is elevated to Peter Andrews, I get no response and no resolution to any of my concerns.
For the most part, I think Vinfolio offers competitive retail pricing on it’s wines; however, I have not purchased any wine from Vinfolio in many months nor will I. Vinfolio appears to be having the same customer service issues (and now Sarah is leaving), Vinfolio has not honored it’s promotions from my past purchases, there is no process in place to escalate issues and resolution always take a minimum of six months and perhaps more.....as I’ve been waiting for over 9 months on my most recent requests.
I think Vinfolio has a decent business plan, as once your wine is in there system they have a recurring revenue stream like software or insurance. I haven’t pulled very much out of storage, so it will be very interesting to see what happens when they can’t find wine that is clearly listed on your account.
Unfortunately, I feel this is inevitable and I hope there is a process in place for when this does happen. I’ve notice Vinfolio will also change inventory numbers or listing order, so make sure you have a separate accounting of everything. I’m in the process of some wine now, so if I have another opportunity to write a review after this, I will let you know how that experience goes.

Excellent expertise and curation maintained even with the occasional staff turnover. Reasonably priced storage. Easy to have purchases elsewhere shipped into their storage for single-location management of your collection. Some out of this world stuff and also some great bargains, and plenty in between, with lots of information about their recommended wines. What’s not to like?
David is terrific as my rep...he makes the whole experience effortless...he always follows through...I take advantage of your storage until I have a case or so to ship to me...love that too.
