There is nothing wrong with the Unity Trust Bank Bank if you are a large organisation with a large balance. I am the Treasurer of a small Walking Group, affiliated to a national organisation. Our Headquarters force us to use this bank.
We have a legacy fund that is locked up by various rules, so generally we only have £400 in use annually,
The Unity Bank charges for every transaction and for having a Credit Card, so I have to manage transactions the only economical way I can and that is to pay from a personal account and reclaim from the Group account by using a cheque.
Basically we need an account that runs like a personal account and nobody listens. It is not the Unity Trust Banks Fault. If there was an account totally inappropriate for our needs, it is the one we have now. Lloyds don't charge me to use my Debit and Credit Cards on my personal account, as I always have a balance in credit. This is what our group needs.
We are treated like a profit making business, by the Unity Trust Bank and we are not.

I am the clerk and therefore manage the banking arrangements. When I need to change the arrangements e.g. changing councillor mandates there are essential security measures and I often need guidance. I have found the Call Centre team to be pleasant and very helpful - extremely valuable in my situation!
I was very impressed with the way my application to open a charity account was handled. Luke was excellent. His advice was clear and timely and I really felt that I mattered as a customer. The application process was smooth and Luke inspired confidence with clear guidance and very prompt replies to my queries. The bank provides an excellent service and Luke is certainly an asset to the team.
I applaud her patience and determination to see things through to a positive conclusion.
Clear, calm, pleasant and effective. Rapidly was able to secure create a new password which worked after I'd accidentally blocked the previous one. Thanks to her.

My experience of contacting Unity has been first class , the staff I've dealt with have all been very attentive and helpful.
I had a very positive experience with Unity Trust Bank when being set up as a signatory for an account that I am now partly responsible for. Having had issues signing up I spoke to Nick at the service centre who was incredibly calm, polite and helpful - and handled my issues satisfactorily on two separate occasions. Excellent service.
What is the problem with their secure customer verification at the moment?
Unable to carry out normal activity such as creating new beneficiaries because the verification process is not working.
No alternative in place to enable customers to carry on their business. The problem has persisted for over 24 hours, and now a massive queue on the helpline, so unable to obtain any information or update.

Unity had some trouble with authorising payments to new beneficiaries. It took a day and half to solve this problem. Florentina was very patient and stayed on the line for a very long time until I could access my account . I applaud her patience and determination to see things through to a positive conclusion

I would say that the signature authorisation process is very long winded and antiquated and it would be great if there was a less cumbersome way to make account changes and an online Live Chat service to help customers. Luckily I spoke to Florentina who tracked my query very diligently.

I appreciated the personal service I received today from Alesha Dhami. She went out of her way to make sure we had the statements we needed. Few banks today give this level of customer care. Thank you Alesha!
I used the telephone banking service this morning; it was quick get through to a Customer Service Advisor (Florentina); she was extremely helpful in resolving a number of queries that I had and helping me make some account changes. In summary, an excellent customer experience and a lot better than the equivalent service that I recently received from a major high-street bank.
Superb customer support. Spoke with Aaron who was simply superb and sorted me out. Then had to call again, spoke with another (so sorry .. didn't make a note of the name) and equally as good.
We are new to Unity Trust, and delighted we chose this bank.
Horrendous. Online systems don't work. Customer services unhelpful. Complaint went unanswered. Avoid like the plague unless you enjoy spending many hours on hold and going in circles.
