One hand does not know what the other is doing, Always disconnected after call and not allowed to do survey. Constant "Urgent" robocalls that finally tell me after 10 minutes all my prescriptions all filled and no information needed. Tired to complain today which led to transfer after transfer with "Not my job, let me transfer you to someone else who will say the same. Constant junk calls, emails and texts all day long to the point of harassment. Now the drug I do need they keep losing prescription over and over again. Terrible company whose statement is: UnitedHealthcare is dedicated to helping people nationwide live healthier lives by simplifying the health care experience (BS), meeting consumer health(BS) and wellness needs, and sustaining trusted relationships with care providers(BS).
My doctors all seem to hate dealing with this company.

The negative reviews are true. United Health Care will deny needed medical surgeries/procedures even after several appeals. Please do not choose United Health Care if you value your health. The solid 1 star review should be all you need to know.

Did not receive my new U Card at the beginning of the year. I was told I could download the one online. It doesn't work and now it takes 14 days to get a new one that might or might not work. Tried using the OTC online but their selection of products is so small as to be ridiculous. Now I will have to spend my own money because their online system does not work. That's one way to keep me from using my benefits.

They are refusing to approve the refilling of 2 prescriptions that I have been taking for several months for Congestive Heart Failure. I was in the hospital 3 times last year for related issues prior to starting these medications which have helped to improve my overall health. One of them is even on their list of 'approved' medications. They are wanting me to try a 'trial drug' and another prescription that I have already taken before without any affect.

Extensive hold times, dropped calls. Denied claims that should be covered. Doctors that are in network and then when claims are made, UHC says they are out of network. One of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. This is becoming the norm in this country.

The most incompetent insurance company in USA. I don’t believe in killing people because UHC rips you off but I understand why now after finding out the CEO’s salary was 10 million a year while they constantly reject claims. They are all liars, con artists. I literally hate anybody who works there.

I would rather die than have United Healthcare coverage. Honestly, United Healthcare would prefer the same. Greedy and disgusting, United Healthcare is a disgrace and only cares about taking people’s hard earned money. What a scam.

United Health Care will NOT let me sign in, nor will the site let me contact them since i have to SIGN in to chat or call. NOR WILL THE SITE LET ME GET THE INFORMATION TO FIX THE SIGN I9N PROBLEM.

What a horrible experience. I called United regarding referrals. They can't tell me what process they are in or they are just too lazy to put in the extra effort. Next, I get a call from Memorial Herman because the UHC referral portal does not have me setup. The is a problem between UHC and Memorial Herman but of course I am the one that can't see my doctors. Memorial Herman calls UHC and gets an answer "what do you think I am going to do about it". I am now on my 4th call. I have been transferred back to the US but did not get the supervisor I asked for. Sad and pathetic. I already wished I could change.

Evil, crooked, sinful company that would sell every last average working American’s soul just to enrich themselves & their equally wicked billionaire friends & shareholders. Despite claiming to be a company that “provides” “healthcare”, they do nothing of the sort, only acting as a scrounging gang of thieves that exploit the poor, sick, disabled, and elderly.

They empty the pockets of already struggling working class parents whose children are sick and suffering. They place liens on the homes of the elderly who cannot pay their villainous shakedowns. They cause further debilitating hardship on unfortunate and disabled Americans who cannot control their disabilities and illnesses.

The #1 cause of bankruptcy in the US is MEDICAL DEBT & UnitedHealthCare is the LARGEST medical insurer (aka medical EXTORTIONISTS) in the country.

They constantly and ruthlessly deny the claims of sick CHILDREN, they throw our elders out of their care homes and into the street, they step on the necks of single mothers and fathers dying of cancer. They hold our crippling debt above us to keep us SUBSERVIENT, ill, poor, and profitable to THEM.

This SICK and SOULLESS company has the blood of millions of Americans on their hands. They are LEECHES upon our society that bring NOTHING of value, only immense pain, suffering, and destitution. They fill the pockets of the UNGODLY and OBSCENELY wealthy, billionaire ruling class, by taking the very little money that hard working, average Americans have.

They drink champagne and fill their bellies above, while the rest of us use what is left of our sick and dying bodies to fight each other for SCRAPS below.

And in order to keep us sick, dying, and poor, and themselves filthy stinking rich, they BRIBE our politicians to make sure our votes do not matter, and to ensure that they will ALWAYS be in control of our health, our lives, our bodies, and our finances.

They get to heartlessly watch us struggle, while they PLAY GOD, deciding who lives and who dies, based on how much money we desperate and struggling Americans can pay.

There are no words that can properly express the amount of suffering this MERCILESS, UNGODLY, PITILESS PARASITE of a company has caused on our country and our people.

They live as KINGS AND QUEENS while we working class Americans of all ages, colors, genders, sexualities, and occupations live as SERFS AND SLAVES to this wretched system of extortion. We average Americans will NEVER be happy, healthy, or free so long as these “healthcare” companies rule our beloved country.

They make everything a battle of obstacles and prerequisites and busywork, then usually still refuse to pay for whatever the doctor says you need by saying it's not medically necessary. When they do eventually agree to pay for something, expect a huge copay.

UHC is NOT a good dental insurance company. They said a patient was in network in 7 faxbacks we have and on their portal. Shady practices!!!!

Terrible! In the past decade I have had three different insurance providers who seamlessly covered in-network complex surgeries and a high-order pregnancy. All services were covered and processed based on what I was eligible for. Not once was there a discrepancy on claims. I have been with United Healthcare insurance for one year now and had a mental health treatment which was in-network. The bill is upwards of $15k. I have called now three times, taking over 1 1/2 hours of my time and their bureaucratic system is setting me up to not get this bill paid. Each time I call, they give me another reason 'it wasn't processed properly'. I follow their direction and do the action that needs to be done for the claim to be processed and paid. A month passes and the bill is still not cleared. I repeat and call again.

This is a profit-driven organization that intentionally complicates the patient experience, so the patient ends up paying the bill. Too bad for them, I am relentless and will make sure they pay this bill. But what a sin because this is at the expense of my time and on top of what I already pay in every month. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

I would like you to know this person is true it happened to me too - However I would change it only to show how it fit my problem :
"I have had this company for over 6 years and I have never been able to use the internet site to see my account for that whole time and now I just moved to Florida and I still can't log in. I also was put on hold for 30 minutes by technical support and then I was switched to a salesperson. They didn't let me know I had their insurance for 4 weeks and I found out when they sent the OTC catalog. Go somewhere else."

I have had this company as my first to use for over 6 years and I have never been able to use the internet site to see my account for that whole time and now after researching other places. I liked what I saw in one of UHC's plans I tried to pick one of their plans after all they sent in the email it was easy to see what they wrote and well explained I needed to change to a different plan I thought it would be worth trying to see if its still impossible to use their computer however its still impossible the computer is the biggest liar like always.There customer help can prove it never will work - When they will speak to me - I get stuck in a loop. Tech service can do no better they are only available certain days of the week and certain hours of the day and dropped out on me trying to fix it.

They will hang up on me claiming there is too much static sometimes when calling customer service however I hear them well. The computer created an account because it called it success however It always wrote error trying to use it. Several times I started over thinking maybe I never really had an account. I tried to find my user name however HSID_SSO_xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxx50ea3 its useless as a user name useless - It wrote its my User name however my real user name is shorter. There text messages are not designed well anyone else can do better also they confuse code with password or password with code I assume therefore to leave me guessing. What a scam they know their plan yet leave me guessing.

They called me several times of the day, and weeks and months by name and want my birth date soliciting for prescriptions I have never needed to give them. What a waste of time not knowing if its a scammer I should be calling them not appear and expect to get my birth date before they talk to me.

Their text messages are almost worthless on Oct. 17 it wrote my account is locked the same day I tried to login to a account finally as a reason they rarely write something to know where it came from. Much later I found the text messages phone numbers matched. Then when I tried to reset my password they sent me one in November near a month later with no idea of who it was however when I tried to reset my password today it became clear what happened the computer is a liar It wrote success when I tried to use it. However wait a few hours and log in it asks for text reply numbers then after giving the text numbers it replies with we found your HSID_SSO_xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxx50ea3 then it asks for password the only one I have and used to get this far and reply is error. There text messages are not designed well anyone else can do better therefore I can guess they confuse code with password or password with code I assume therefore to leave me guessing. What a scam they know their plan yet leave me guessing.

Therefore. Look at the facts about who they are - That some of there text message must be accepted with blind faith - Who did it come from? Could the problem be that they ask for password yet send code however was fine when asked for code earlier and send code yet now ask for password its what I stared with yet now call password code in a text message? However they want to reject the password and user name I alone created I have already proved its my email account and my phone. However I must continue to get another password for their computer to write success again that a stranger that can know more about me yet not really believe its me. Its a scam to think I can have a account the government sends them my money only to find a scam.

A health insurance deductible is the amount of money a policyholder pays for covered health care services before their insurance plan pays anything. For example, if you have a $1,000 deductible and a medical bill of $2,000, you would pay the first $1,000 and your insurance would cover the rest. Which is impossible to pay its the reason I have insurance. They get near $200 a month at 12 months $2400 a year sent by a split payment and near $334 sent to me as social security that is just an example it could be $5000 that would take me 3 years and have almost nothing to live on however in 10 years they have collected near $24,000 what a scam they are.

I have United healthcare advantage, I don't use it much since I have VA benefits and get my healthcare there, I'm glad I do since all the reviews I read are all bad, I did have a problem with United healthcare though, it was for my over the counter benefits I'm entitled to, my card had expired and I couldn't use it, United healthcare told me they would send out a new one and I never received it, I had to call numerous times to finally receive the card, it's like they don't care if you need them or not, I suppose it's because they are a big organization and get plenty of money, I'm just glad I can go to the VA for my healthcare needs instead of using United healthcare.

Do NOT put any money into a FSA/HSA that is managed by United Healthcare. They have repeatedly denied thousands of dollars in out of pocket reimbursements for clearly qualified medical expenses. I have sent them over ten different invoices with receipts for just a fraction of the medical bills I had to deal with over the past year. Over ten thousand dollars out of pocket related to an emergency medical situation, and they deny it claiming 1. NOT A QUALIFIED EXPENSE!?!? or 2. Not ENOUGH FUNDS LAST YEAR OR THIS YEAR AVAILABLE!?! I have over a thousand dollars MORE in MY account of MY money than what I am TRYING to GET BACK! Freaking thieves is what they are!

We are a small providers office and they CONSTANTLY REFUSE TO PAY CLAIMS. You get the approval, but they just will NEVER PAY. People please do your research BEFORE you purchase insurance from this FRAUDULENT COMPANY.

I have a Medigap policy with UHC for $103/mo. I'm a relatively healthy 70 yo female. My plan doesn't include a gym membership, like Silver Sneakers or Renew Active but for $44/mo Wellness package add-on I can get it. I requested the add-on but received a letter by their insurance adjuster stating that due to my having had a cortisone shot in my knee in the past 3 months, which per the letter, they put in the same category as a blood transfusion, the Wellness package would cost me $235/mo instead of $44/mo. So I did not get the add-on. UHC has no ability to see that the gym experience will improve my health and thus ultimately lower their cost for my Healthcare.

I tried to access one of my UHC benefits for Virtual Visits and you will not have access to this feature. UHC will farm you out to Teladoc and they will charge you a fee for service. Stay away from UHC especially their Medicare Advantage plan.
