Union line are worse than useless
I joined GMB and encouraged my friend to do so. Recently he needed legal advice and Union line have just sat on it and he was told to draft his own claim. Luckily, he has family members/friends who could help as they are Lawyers. I would have given zero, having seen how he has been treated and the comments on here I am cancelling my membership.

I am a member of the GMB Union, I sent Unionline TWO email which they failed to even acknowledge or respond.
Waste of time and unprofessional
I had my accident in September 2024, contacted Union Line in October 2024 and after several people looking at my claim it did not get submitted until February 2025. Why it took 4 months to submit my claim I will never know. The communication was so poor and whenever I was lucky enough to receive any communication it just seemed so rude like they didn't care about my claim at all. Now in April I receive a letter from them saying my claim has been unsuccessful and pretty much calling me a liar with my accident. This law firm is unprofessional and do not care about what you have gone through at all. 7 months of this, just so disgusting. Do not use this firm!
I had a problem at my local hospital…
I had a problem at my local hospital within a subcontractor's scanning unit. I was injured as a result and contacted my union. I was then put in contact with Meya Phiri at Union Line. She guided me through the process and helped to advise and negotiate a better outcome.
I was impressed by her professional but sympathetic approach, and when business was concluded, she added a little bit of humour to lighten the mood.
I won't rush to use her expertise again but would certainly recommend her if needed.
Incompetent.
After being dismissed for supporting a colleague with mental health problems, the Unionline solicitor wrote to me saying they would not support me as I had not worked there for a year. (I had recieved a ten year service award the month before!) I was also told that the decision was made without two crucial documents being provided. At no time did I communicate directly with the solicitor. After raising the issues with Unionline six months ago I still have had no contact with them.
Just awful
Don’t bother. The claim will be dealt with unprofessionally and not to a high standard for what is best for you. They simply want the file closed as soon as possible even if that means pretending a bad offer is a good one for you so as to get the file closed and marked as a win. This also means that you lose out on thousands of pounds on a settlement because they don’t know how to properly work out the correct compensation rates and how to deal with third parties when negotiating. The other parties must rub their hands and dance around their office when they see these are acting for the claim. Go somewhere who knows the law, give these a miss.

Despite having medically diagnosed hearing loss from work and employer admitting fault my case was refused.
Only went with UnionLine as I was referred by the union. Would not advise anybody to go this route. Never once spoke to a solicitor about the case despite having a folder of information.

seems to be a running trend with them. Have been advised by 2 different solicitors that i have a case against a manufacturer, but to discuss it with the union as im a member.
Legal had to speak to a supervisor, who then advised her that they cannot take case as there has to be a person "injured" (ME!) and a person they can go after for damages (THE PEOPLE WHO MADE IT!)
and apparently they dont have that in my case.......will go back to original slicitors and get case opened

The Solicitor that was allocated to me for my injury claim in the first instance was Meya Phiri. Now How does one start to describe her determination, drive and due diligence for her clients.
Words escape me on how knowledgable, professional and dedicated to compete client satisfaction. Her attention to detail is second to none, yet her compassion and understanding of what you have experienced through injuries sustained is nothing but exemplary.
Her dedication to fight for the maximum possible resolution and also to break everything down to the smallest of details, and some of which you wouldn’t even think of being part of the process.
Meya Phiri is nothing but Outstanding in her field. And I’m glad to have her as my solicitor dealing with all my cases.

Had a accident at work which was there fault rang union line up they took the bear minimum details and said ring for more details, which never happened
I rang them to find out what was going on and told by rude member of staff they were not going to take it on
I asked to speak to a supervisor and got told that won’t be ringing me back

I was involved in a car collision in February and called the union. My Solicitor Meya was absolutely phenomenal. If I could have awarded 10 stars I would have. Meya is extremely professional and very easy to talk to too. And every time I needed her she was always available. Thank you Meya for everything

Wish I had read these reviews while I was going through years of an injury claim battle.
At best incompetent, but for me they were complicit in railroading my injury claim, they did everything in their power to stop me going to court, which was the main objective for my case.
I had reported ( all documented) vehicle and machinery failings on full fleet of vehicles being unfit in their current state, after three years of this and many many issues! I sustained a back injury because of same reason.
Unionline after 3 years of running me around only agreed to allowing me to take it to court because I asked for all my file and documentation, only to be offered a paltry settlement and when I refused and told them I want to go to court was told categorically if the judge offers less that gmb would not pick up the tab and it could cost me my home.
I had stuck to my guns refusing to be ignored making complaints about the way my case was being handled.
Now I have been emailing a telephoning since then for my file so I can make a formal complaint and surprise surprise no reply

Disgusting service, staff rude (advisor Keeley) and patronising. Don't fight your case just palm you off, dismissive 3 years on after RTA and still no further on, oh tell a lie they've asked if I need a psychologist for the issues sustained from accident (yes 3years post accident and only just been asked)
