###this is an update of my previous 1 star review.

In response to my original review, Josh, another member of Uke Universe, called me to resolve this. A replacement baritone ukulele was eventually delivered to my home address. They also added a free ukulele strap, which i appreciated.
My biggest issue with Uke Universe was their lack of communication and prioritising a new customer over sorting this ongoing issue out. As a result I have raised my original 1 star to a 3 star.###

I purchased a Flight Navigator baritone ukulele from Uke Universe, but after 8 months of normal use, a tuning peg suffered a mechanical failure. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, I contacted customer service. They accepted liability and formally agreed to send me a replacement instrument. However, it has now been over two weeks of constant stalling.

My first contact with them was an email on Sat 30th May, which i got no response to, I chased several times through email and the chat group and eventually was told a new baritone would be dispatched on Tues 9th June.
I heard nothing and followed up on the Wed, but did not receive a reply. I then sent a more forceful email on thurs, the following day, saying if I did not hear by close of business today I would be seeking recourse through my credit card company and leaving a review explaining my experience. I was told then, the Tues shipment was running late and I would receive a tracking number of the dispatched baritone on Fri 12th. At that point I asked them to confirm to me by Friday close of business whether the baritone had been sent to me. I received neither the tracking details nor a confirmation email as requested from uke universe. By Mon 15th I still had no further contact and so I have contacted them again this morning, the 16th.

After missing their original promised dispatch date, they finally admitted via email that they received the new stock, but chose to sell the instrument to a new paying customer instead of fulfilling my outstanding warranty replacement. While the staff are polite in their emails, I have only received responses when I have sent more forceful emails. Prioritizing new sales over legal consumer obligations is incredibly poor business practice. I am currently left with a broken instrument and no firm delivery date. Buyers beware if you expect any reliable aftercare or warranty support.

As a final point, it is interesting to note that uke universe are still showing my instrument as in stock.

You can't ask for more than great communications when buying your next Ukulele.

They had a special gig bag I'd been searching for, and had it at a really good price, also when the courier messed up the delivery they chased it up and still got it to me in time. Ordered a ukulele and realised after a few days that I had not had a notification of sending. Contacted ukeuniverse. The ukulele I had ordered was unavailable but I was sent lots of advice and options for alternatives and offered a refund. Despite opting for a slightly more expensive ukulele, they did not charge me any extra.

Was very pleased to find your website. I bought an inexpensive, Mahalo, concert uke and it's fabulous value for money and plays well for a beginner. And the colour is cool! The delivery was fast too, ordered on Tuesday afternoon, received Thursday midday.

If uke becomes my thing and I feel a need for another I'll certainly be back as you do things how they should be done, a great assortment of products on offer, fair price and prompt delivery. Yay!

Bought a Uke case for my wife. I'm happy with the ease of ordering, price and speed of delivery. She's delighted with the style and quality.

I received a Flight Sophia Ukelele on October 17th after some helpful advice from Josh on my choice. There was a slight delay in delivery but it was soon kindly resolved and I am very pleased with the instrument. It has an inbuilt amp which gives me a good range of 'sound character' to suit various kinds of music. I have received a 12 month guarantee with best wishes from Ukeuniverse.

I happened to order an item that was out of stock. They contacted me to help me select a new item and gave me a discount for my inconvenience.

After ordering an item which I later found out was out of stock, an alternative was suggested and was delivered two days later. I'm really pleased with it, and Uke Universe even put in a couple of extras! Excellent service, I would recommend them.

Electro-acoustic uke sold to me as new, but it appeared not to be so. The box didn't contain the Kala gigbag with which it should have been supplied; the box was not the original box (it was marked for a different model); both batteries were flat (and had to be replaced at my cost).
Courier left parcel outside and didn't put a note through my door to advise me that the parcel had been delivered and where it was. I found it by chance 2 days after it had been delivered during which time it had rained heavily. I e-mailed UU about this and requested an interim partial refund. I received a phone call a few days later. The outcome was that UU would call me again during the following week to find out if any damage had become apparent as the uke dried out. No such phone call was received until today shortly after I'd published an earlier damning review.
However, UU agreed to pay the requested £60 partial refund and apologised for its mistake. I was pleased to receive both and was ultimately a satisfied customer.

Emailed to ask if a Flight ukulele was in stock before placing order online. Advised by very friendly staff on a Sunday evening when ukulele would be in stock and when expected delivery date would be to me. Placed order online and delivered to me on exact date as advised! Cannot recommend Uke Universe enough, will be using again in the future.

Lots of helpful advice ( actually on buying a mandolin, not a ukulele) and quick delivery, quality instrument at a great price. Excellent service, I would definitely recommend them.
