We’re genuinely sorry to learn through your review that you weren’t happy with the proportions in your portrait. We only wish you had reached out to us first, as we would have been more than happy to help.

Our process is intentionally built around free previews before purchase. The portrait you order is the portrait shown to you beforehand, and there is absolutely no obligation to purchase if something about the composition, likeness or proportions doesn’t feel right. Customers are welcome to generate multiple free previews for exactly this reason.

We also want to clarify your comment that it “would have been nice if there was a way to correct that,” because there absolutely is. Our support team is always available to help, and had you contacted us about your dog’s size, we would have gladly worked with you on alternative versions.

Unfortunately, we didn’t receive any request or message from you about this before the review was posted, so we weren’t given an opportunity to address it.

We have since reached out to you directly and offered to create new previews with your dog’s proportions adjusted, at no additional cost. We would genuinely appreciate the opportunity to make this right for you.

We’re sorry to read this, particularly as we never want someone to feel they’ve spent money on a portrait they cannot use.

We’ve searched our order records using the name on this review, but unfortunately we haven’t been able to locate a paid order under “Brett Borah.” It’s possible the order was placed under a different name or email address, so we’d genuinely appreciate it if you could contact us at support@thebigbarkboys.com with your order number or the email address used to purchase so we can find it and look into this properly for you.

We’re also a little surprised to hear that you felt the portrait did not resemble you because our ordering process is specifically designed to prevent customers from having to pay for artwork they aren’t happy with.

Every customer is able to generate and view their portrait before purchasing, and there is no obligation whatsoever to order it. If the likeness isn’t right, customers can try again with another photo or contact our team for help before placing an order.

The original photo is particularly important when creating a portrait involving a person. From the thousands of portraits we’ve worked with, we’ve found that clear, well-lit, front-facing photographs with the facial features fully visible consistently produce the strongest likeness. This is also why we provide photo examples and guidance before customers upload their images.

That said, if you did place an order with us, Brett, we would genuinely like the opportunity to see what happened rather than leave you feeling that your money was wasted. Please email us with your order details and the portrait you received, and our team will be happy to review it with you and see how we can help.

And you’re absolutely right, even when the same photos are used, each new portrait is created as its own unique composition, so there can be subtle differences in expression, positioning and finer details from one version to the next. It’s one of the reasons we let you preview your portrait first, so you can choose the version that feels most like you and your pet.
