I have been a member of Stitch Club from the beginning in 2020 and I am still a member. Every week you get online a new stitch technique. It challenges me to get out of my comfort zone and create new artwork. It stimulates my creativity in a natural way. It is also wonderful to work into an international community of stitchers and I found here friends all over the world.

As a child I was never introduced into the world of textiles because I was not taught to knit or sew, by my mother or grandmother, as I’ve heard many people say they have.
Also being colour-blind, I tended to keep clear of most types of creativity.
Then one day I discovered TextileArtist.org and loved finding beauty and inspiration in the work of some amazing textile artists they feature there.
During Lock-Down, TextileArtist.org ran a mini series of on-line workshops. I, and long with a great many others, were completely hooked. It didn't matter what age or skill-level you were, the workshops were intended for everyone
After lock-down TextileArtist.org created a private club called Stitch Club. It worked exactly the same way as the lockdown series.
Stitch Club introduces us to 2 wonderful textile artists every month. They give an online workshop, a workbook and a book showing a little of their work to inspire you, great to print out and refer back to.
It’s a wonderful way to learn – in your own home, at your own speed but with the support of a tutor. You also get a whole ‘classroom’ of fellow students from all over the world, who give support and encouragement to each other. Or you can work in complete privacy, if you wish and never show your work but still ask questions or read comments.
Because of the different styles and materials, we use, there is something for everyone and even I have produced many pieces, of which I’m extremely proud, learning so many different techniques along the way. I tend to talk about Stitch Club to everyone and I’m feel very pleased with myself for finding it!

The quality and variety of the workshops is outstanding. I really look forward to Saturdays for the next input. Some I watch purely for interest while others I have followed learning new techniques or combining media in a new way.

So many aspects clubbed to gather made this experience great. The presence of experts and textile artist from all over the world enriched my knowledge of this art that I am very passionate about.
I was little skeptical before joining this club, as it involved payment and I was not sure if i will be able to be consistent and will actually absorb as much from it as I am going to pay for it. I would urge everyone who is inclined towards textile art to be a part of this amazing space. You will never regret it.
I am glad that I did take a plunge and I am so very happy and fortunate to be an active member of this stitch club family. I feel so much at home here with all the other members, there is no distance, no barrier and no judgment. It's pure encouragement, love and sharing of knowledge, that happens here.

My textile art practice, my confidence and my out put has increased many fold after I joined stitchclub.
stitch club workshops are one thing that I look forward to every Saturday. I keep an eye on the calendar too where we have a brief of the upcoming workshops. This keeps me aware and ready not to miss what resonates with me and my style.
I have enjoyed workshops of many textile artists, like sue stone, Mc Vetis, Gwen Hedley, Sharon Peoples, April Sproule and so many.... I may not be wrong if I name all!!!

I am extremely happy and proud to be a part of this community and club since more than 2 years.

Stitch Club is an amazing online community, which is so positive and encouraging, you can't help but be inspired by the other members. The workshop tutors are a very high standard and the workshop videos are well presented, supported by downloadable workbooks. I love the fact that you can work at your own pace and that this is a global community with tutors and members from many countries, providing various different perspectives on the same starting point.

I joined Stitch Club when it started, it was lockdown and it gave inspiration and purpose. My background was in textiles and ceramics and I found the workshops really helpful.
Over time I have learnt so many more techniques and ways of working and I look forward to each new workshop, I don’t always have the time to do each one, but I have the workbooks and refer back when time
allows.
I am so glad I joined the stitch club community, it has given me more confidence and creative friends.

I joined stitch club at the beginning of this year. Everyone is so friendly and help is at hand if you need any help. I have learned many new skills since I joined and I love being a member. I haven't tried all the workshops yet but know I can go back at some time and look at it again. There are so many amazing things to learn from the stitch club videos and other members.

Although I don't participate in every workshop, it's because one or two of them have captured my interest and I can spend weeks working on a few projects. The teachers are all first rate and I do go back to the workshops that I missed.
I have learned many technical skills but it's mostly my design skills that has been sharpened. I always learn from my fellow students since we all do things differently. It's been very inspiring.

I have been a member of the Stitch Club since it started during lockdown. I look forward to every new workshop and try to find time to do them all, even if it is something that is not immediately applicable to my process; there is always something to be learnt and used in the context of my own work. So many of the different techniques I have learnt can be mixed up to make new pieces of work.
Feedback from the artists leading the workshop and from members of the Stitch Club community are invaluable in encouraging and helping to progress samples and ideas.

Stitch Club has provided me with world class tutors and a caring, creative community to move forward on my textile art journey. Specifically, I have gone from making other people's designs to creating my own work utilizing the tools, techniques and creative briefs provided in the workshops. An added bonus is the exposure and perspective you get to textile artists all over the world.

The expierence with the Stitch Club gives me a connection through stitch with my own practice and practice of other people. Furthermore, it encourages confidence to grow and continue exploration of my work, techniques and different ways I can take my embroidery. Each workshop gives fresh energy and inspiration to move on and integrate something innovative into my artist practice. By joining the club, I have gained new textile friends. I am happy to be part of stitching entusiast circle all around the globe!

I have been a Stitch Club member for about 2 years now and have enjoyed it so much. My experience with sewing growing up was never very positive as I am left handed. This sounds so ridiculous now, but back in the day, my teachers said I was impossible to teach!! All changed when I was given a cross stitch pattern in my early twenties and since then I have always enjoyed trying new things out. Stitch Club though was a completely different level!! The exposure to so many artists, experts and other stitchers across the globe really opens your eyes to what is possible. It encourages you to try different techniques in a safe and supportive environment, and pushes your boundaries. I like that you don’t have to try everything, and when you do a workshop you can really make it your own. You can go off in any direction using the workshop as an inspiration. I am now very confident in creating textile pieces using a variety of techniques and media, and a very different creative person since I first started.
I have recently started volunteering at a sewing group for refugee women locally, and I am really enjoying sharing my skills with them (and learning too!!). I would never have imagined myself doing that before starting Stitch Club!

I have been with Stitch Club from the beginning and there isn't a workshop which has offered me something - a new technique, a better way of approaching something I have already tried, a solution of a problem, or an opportunity and permission to have fun. The bonus is that the Stitch Club interactions are so reassuring - there are so many like minded people all over the world!
I admit that I do not usually complete workshop exercises in the fortnight they are offered and I don't always engage immediately with the workshop when it's offered. However, I look forward to each of the videos, workbooks and inspirational e books and I take lots of notes. Most often, I come back to the workshop to support me in a work that I may be currently tackling. I am one of the Stitch Club members who picks and chooses ... I choose a workshop activity at a time and at a pace when suits me and my schedule of projects. I have found, for me, this makes Stitch Club not only sustainable but one of the most enjoyable activities I do.

I absolutely love Stitch Club and look forward to each and every new teacher and projects. I am an artist and have always experimented and tried just about anything. Stitch Club has made me stretch my knowledge and skills and enhance and broadened my skills in stitching and multimedia . In addition In addition tto building upon what I already do and know it constantly challenges and stretches my skills, enriches, support and validates my work as I interact with the teacher and other members. Great Club!

I have actually know TextilArtist for a long time and was thrilled by the good articles about textile artists and their works. During the Corona pandemic I decided to become a member. And I have to say, SC "saved" me during this difficult time with the many great workshops. New ideas and techniques could be tried out and that made many things easier. I now had access to numerous textil artists and a friendly and aktive community with whom I could exchange ideas. Although I have been doing patchwork and quilting for decades, it was a great enrichment to add e.g. hand embroidery, new appliqué techniques or painting and printing. I have learned a lot in the last three years - SC is an enrichment for me!

Since I live in Northern Norway, it is difficult or almost impossible to attend in-person courses. So being a member of Stitch Club is the best thing that could have happened to me. I can't take every course, but the few that I have chosen have always been a great asset. The freedom to work with it, even mixing the different techniques, is the absolute best thing for me. Many new ideas are developing and I'm now working with techniques that I didn't like before. Sometimes I even have to laugh at myself. Isn't that wonderful?
The inspiring community of members, the positive and friendly feedback are an indispensable source of support.

I wait for the next workshop every other week. I have worked with textiles for many years, but is always curious to learn more. Every day is a new day to create. I have particularly embraced the collage and mark making, new stiches like spider web stitch, new techniques like trapunto and working with colour analysis. Textile Artist.org workshops have also forced me to be brave and try portraits which I have been avoiding earlier. Creativity is giving together with fellow artists.

Stitch Club is an ongoing inspiration for me, learning by doing, growing by creating. Often it is a call to push beyond the conventional, a journey in stitch, in colors and textures with the support of a wonderful community!
Not only have I grown as an artist (I didn't used to call myself that) but I feel richer and more confident as a person!

This is an outstanding organisation that had an inspired beginning, listens to its customer community, and continues to deliver great value to its membership. On a personal note it has given me 'artistic wings.' There are many quality workshops from which to choose...or do them all! Being a member is an enriching experience.

Stitch Club is probably the best thing that has come into my life since it was first started. The workshop providers are careful to make the learning experience accessible for all, from learners to the more experienced, and when the two weeks when they are available, is over, the members themselves are helpful and encouraging, and not forgetting friendly, and so the learning experience is further enhanced. With so many and varied workshops, there is something for everyone, and I love the ability to dip in and out of past workshops. I never thought I'd be stitching insects, for instance, but thanks to the workshops, they have become an added arm to my textile practise. More recently I have picked up a new way of stitching portraits, and it's very satisfying to see the portrait grow. Stitch Club does indeed allow us to grow with every workshop we undertake.
