One I understood how to naviate the portal all was straightforward.
This was straightforward. I simply uploaded my spreadsheets and my tax payable was sent to me in 48 hours with clear explanation. All questions were answered. My tax was posted, and I am very appreciative of my accountant's work. I will definitely be using next year.

Money owed to HMRC was completely wrong
I was sent information to say I owed HMRC £5,000+. I paid £1000+ last year. I messaged the person who had prepared my tax return saying it was clearly wrong. He rang me, told me I should have rang him. How could I when there was only an option to message? He then told me that actually HMRC owed me a refund!!! I hope this is the case as I will not be held responsible if HMRC says this is not the case!!!

We understand that receiving an unexpectedly high tax bill would be alarming, considering this is much different to the outcome you were expecting and we sincerely apologise for the distress this has caused.
Our accountants draft your returns based upon the information you provide during the uploading documents stage. HMRC, however, have greater oversight and might hold information on your income you might not be aware of. It's not unusual for them to make changes to a filed return.
Sadly calls is not something that's included in our service offerings so apologies for the confusion with your accountant on this.
