Seems they tell you in-stock & take your order. Then you get 1/2 an order w no end in sight for the remainder. Cant even cancel it until the “ship period is over” huh ? W T F
Wow 😁👍
Wow ! ... what great service here.
I am from Sweden and have ordered from Summit Racing several times...both myself and with friends. And when something has presumably been wrong or broken, the company has sent new stuff without fuss. So I feel really safe to order from them.
The worst customer service ever
The worst customer service ever, could not be delt with online as i'm a uk customer, i needed to find out if parts they had sent me would indeed fit my truck as it appeared the wrong ones had been sent, so i phoned them, i spoke to a woman called Angela who was not at all helpful but did put me on hold so she could find someone who could answer my questions, i was on hold for 18 minutes, and was then hung up on, that phonecall cost me £45 because they requested i phone them to find out, if thats american customer service then i want no part of Summit or their products.
Summit Used To Be Great
This was a 5-star review. Then it became a 4-star review. Now it's 3. The trend is not good.
There are still many good things about Summit. Customer reviews of the products they sell are posted whether they're good or bad; reading them is often helpful. Summit is clear and accurate about which parts they have in stock. They show realistic manufacturer ship dates. They charge me correct sales tax. They get shipments out as fast or faster than any competitor. They are very good about giving shipping updates. They have always been good about returns. They still have some employees who "get it"; one is named Elaine. Elaine fixes messes made by other employees.
Now let's talk about the not-so-good things:
1) Their product recommendations are worse than useless. After multiple ridiculously-bad recommendations, I gave up completely.
2) Some of their employees should never be allowed within arm's reach of a phone. I'm still steaming over an episode where Summit made a mistake and sent me the wrong part, but the so-called "customer service" rep insisted that I had to pay for the replacement part. There was literally nothing I could say to change her mind. I got it resolved by asking to talk to someone else; I got Elaine, and she instantly agreed with me.
3) Too many times, I have submitted a product question and had it get rejected unreasonably. Recently I was trying to assemble a complete console for a 1980 Camaro. Summit sold such a console, but it had a note that said "some additional parts required for a complete console". So I asked what additional parts were required. My question got rejected because it "wasn't relevant". Huh?
4) Their CEO can't be bothered to reply to an email. I know he got it because it didn't bounce. The non-answer stands in stark contrast to a few other CEOs that I have emailed over the years. Every other time, it has led to a great conversation.
5) Sometimes product quality will disappoint you. I received a wheel today that had a bunch of very noticeable flaws in the paint. I can't believe they sent it to me looking like that.
6) Their so-called "Beat A Price Guarantee" is a joke. I called today to see if they would match Jeg's on the price of some coil springs. They wouldn't match it, let alone beat it. So what is the "guarantee" worth? Nothing.
My first order from Summit was in 1989. I've spent at least $20,000 there, perhaps twice that. My Order History page for just this year lists dozens of orders. I've been a loyal customer, but today, when they wouldn't even match Jeg's on price, I realized that the loyalty is one-way. And it's just about gone.

I ordered a crate motor from summit a week ago. I'm guessing its still sitting on there loading dock because for the past 5 days, it just says ready to ship. And the provided tracking number for fedex doesnt come up as a valid number at fedexs site.
There text messaging support system is useless. It took 2 days to get a reponse
I have about $1000 in accessories I need to order to complete the installation. Im seriously thinking of going somewhere else
I have nothing but great things to say…
I have nothing but great things to say about Summit. They know what to order if YOU give them the exact information. If the part is wrong just have it exchanged. Nixon, Curtis and Erin thank you for your professionalism.
I've been dealing with Summit Racing…
I've been dealing with Summit Racing for over 20 years now. Very easy returns, and great place to find parts for obsolete vehicles. The website has gotten worse and the item descriptions have gotten sloppier. The search engine is pretty bad now, so you're best to go department to department to find parts. All in all its still a great place to by parts. If any doubts before you order, you can always call them for more information.
Worst custumer service ever
Worst custumer service ever. Nightmare for carparts.
Summit racing used to be my go to place…
Summit racing used to be my go to place for almost everything. I've been trying to sign into my 1 account and couldn't get in so I tried signing in to the other one and couldn't so I sent them an email and the response was there's 2 accounts to that email address I replied correct there always has been and it hasn't ever been a problem before the response was sorry it is now, do you want to merge the accounts ? Summit has lost my business.

I went to order an early x mass presents for my friend two t-shirts. I had received their catalog two days before hand. When I placed the order I was told the price was 2 dollars more then in the catalog. The lady who took my order said she would transfer me to her supervisor. Who checked the price against the catalog, then checked the price against the web site, all over 2 dollars, said she would need to talk to her supervisor. I told her to forget it, we had not even talked about shipping. I do not need customer service like that, I wanted to send them an email to say do not seen me any more catalogs. It is grayed out so yu can not do it. Last time I do business with them ever.
On top of things!
Okay, my experience was great! Haven't ordered anything from them since about the time of my Jeep build back in 2005, but as a woman, I have little patience especially when my radiator goes and I want to be driving my rig. Cross referenced my parts on Mopar sites to make sure I was looking at the right parts. Found Summit to be cheaper with faster shipping. They didn't have my radiator in stock, but I ended up getting everything I wanted to replace since the radiator was gonna be out, and it was trail worthy again within a week.
Will use them again (over Quadratec) simply because they seem to carry a more comprehensive range of Mopar parts for my Wrangler.
IMPUESTOS Y ARANCELES
I bought thousands of dollars of parts…
I bought thousands of dollars of parts for a project. Because of the size of the order I called it in to one of their specialists. They sent me one wrong part which caused many troubles for me including purchasing three different brackets to accommodate what finally was properly diagnosed as Summits mistake. I called and they admitted the blame, said that they would exchange at no charge, if I pay to ship it back to them...then, once they received it, told me I would need to pay. I found both the method as well as the speed of their customer service was extremely poor. I would never purchase from them again and would actually recommend against doing business with them. All this over a $200 pump and after spending thousands on that one order. Horrible.
Great Customer Service
I've just received my second big order from Summit for my 78 Trans Am. One of the brake calipers I ordered as part of a rear disc conversion kit, and the brake pads, were missing from the box - looked like it happened in transit. Summit had a new one on order for me less than 8 hours later. I was very impressed and will order from them again.
I ordered four shock absorbers,they did…
I ordered four shock absorbers, they did not fit properly. The repair shop had to modify them to fit, They charged extra and customer service could do nothing for me because I modified them. The money I saved on the part was eaten up by the extra charges from the shop
Delayed orders are not communicated to buyer
In November of 2018 I ordered a rear bumper for my 1963 Galaxie 500. Arrival was stated to occur in early February 2019. Not a big deal I was gathering parts for the lengthy restoration. Mid-February I contacted them and they responded with a don't care attitude and not the least bit apologetic. The next estimate was Mid-March and then I followed up in March to discover Mid-April was the new expected arrival. It did finally arrive in late April 2019.
Their website should provide tracking information for orders when they're delayed or back ordered. The customer should not have to pursue their sales department for their order's status. I suspect they don't have brainiacs managing this large company and instead have car guys that are good at cars, but not at running a company that should be geared around the customer.
Sadly, I've gone back to Summit Racing and bought items I can't find elsewhere or couldn't find a better price. My warning is if it isn't in stock when you order it, beware of the frustration and delays you could likely face. I'd love it if some other racing parts company could seriously challenge their customer base -- a win-win for the customer and competing company.
One of the worst on-line retailers I've…
One of the worst on-line retailers I've ever dealt with. Ordered a product which appeared to be in stock and ready to ship. Not only did they not have the item but neither did their distributor. They would not allow me to cancel the order as they said they'd have to confirm the distributor didn't ship it. Didn't hear back from them so I called to see what's going on. They said they'd contact the distributor and call me back. About an hour later I get an email saying the item had shipped and a UPS tracking # was given. This tracking # was not my order and going to someone else in Michigan. Called them back and explained to CS again...I asked them to put me on hold and call the distributor and they would not do it. I did a little detective work and figured out the distributor was Helmet House...based out of CA with warehouse in South Haven, MS. I called the CA office and they assured me the item I ordered was still on back order and they'd been without stock for quite a while. They confirmed there was no chance my item shipped yesterday. Now back on death-hold with this worthless CS department. NEVER AGAIN!!!!...So after holding for 40 minutes the CS agent still refused to cancel the order and tried to put me off again. After arguing with him he agreed to call the distributor while I was on hold, 15 minutes later he comes back and tells me I was correct. They do not have stock and my order did not ship out. I asked him to put me on hold while he cancelled the order. He gave me the runaround about how he couldn't do it but assured me he make it happen. Still not done and the business day is over. Glad I used Paypal to pay these clowns, just got done filing a claim.
bad business !!!you will never get your parts or tires…
you will never get your parts or tires or attention so may as well cancell your order and get money back
staff is rude, nobody knows what is going on and if you are lucky after 4 days of calling to get someone on the phone to tell you they don't know what is going on
bad business!!!
Avoid as much as I can
Say "Estimated shipping : today" you make your order and then it change to "Available in 10 days" ???
They obviously make money on the shipping cost. Seriously +50$ of shipping to france for a stupid tiny connector??
I get it why now they don't sell internationnaly with ebay. They don't make money on internationnal orders with them because you pay ebay to send it to you.
Summit Racing are thieft.
