Do not be misled by the 5-star reviews. These reviews clearly haven’t been written by anyone who has actually had to make a claim. My experience with Stella Car Insurance has been nothing short of a nightmare, and I would strongly advise against choosing them.

My crash claim has taken over a month to process due to an incredibly slow and disorganized process. They don't respond to emails, so I’m forced to keep calling them for updates, and even then, it takes a week for them to get back to me. They claim to offer 24/7 assistance, but that is a lie. After 5 PM, no one answers the phone, and it’s clear they are severely understaffed.

There’s also a huge communication breakdown between their outsourced teams. One staff member arranged for a car hire and allowed us to pick up the car, but then another called and said the crash team wanted the hire car returned and a different one delivered. This constant back-and-forth was extremely confusing and unprofessional.

To make things worse, the tow company lost some of our personal items from the car, and instead of helping us resolve the situation, Stella asked us to provide photos to prove that we had the items inside the car. It was a completely unreasonable request and made an already stressful situation even worse.

Stella might seem like a cheap option, but it is far more stressful than it’s worth. Don't wait for an issue to arise—go with a more reliable insurance provider. The reviews that rave about them clearly haven’t experienced the reality of dealing with a claim.

This is the second review I have left for Stella, as usual great service, I believe her name is Jo or Jodi (sorry bad memory) she was lovely and she remembered me 😊, nothing is ever a problem always ready to help and accommodate & we had a good laugh together, I love that they are "people" meaning down to earth and you feel at easy talking, it is not a chore

I had a renewal issue and left a message. The Stella staff responded very quickly. A staff member, Jo, called me and assisted with renewing my car insurance. It was a fast and easy process. She was extremely helpful, and I truly appreciate her assistance.

Simple questions, all online, quick and easy. Better price than some who advertise that they are cheap.

I never received any email or text informing me that the policy I’ve had since 2022 wouldn’t be renewed due to the change in underwriters this June. I had no idea I was uninsured, and today, after my first accident ever, I found out I'm not covered. I’m honestly in shock.
