Not what they say they are at all. Avoid. I - like another review on here - didn't notice that I was filling in a form for quotes. The difference is NOT obvious. There are notes throughout the form saying 'we won't pass on your number' and then lo and behold, I'm being contacted by three installers!

The first installer that contacted me as 'recommended' said that it 'wasn't possible to install on a flat roof' as panels need to sit at an angle. What?! Flat roof mounting, on an angle, is commonplace! The women had no idea and said they only install on slate and concrete tile and that flat roof was specialist. It's not. This is a supposed 'vetted' company. What a joke.
The website does zero enquiry to the type of installer you want i.e. I had no 'recommendations' for a local ONLY installer. They all operate nationally. Just not what they say they are and I have zero faith in the process. It's all just lead generation.

I found Alex and Gustav during an extensive search for a domestic solar installation (panels, inverter and battery), thinking I had already settled on a good price for the most appropriate hardware and installer. However, after working through their well-researched advice, I switched to another installer, offering similar components and warranties etc. but for £4k less. It pays to trust expert independent advice and to shop around. My thanks to Solar Sherpa for doing the heavy lifting.

I looked at 8 solar installers and when I rated them the top three were recommended installers by Solar-Sherpa. Excellent advice through numerous emails giving the reader advice, tips, what to look out for and more importantly, what not to look out for! Highly recommended if you are contemplating a solar system.

We found the check lists and information provided by solar sherpa very helpful in deciding how to proceed with solar panel and battery installation. Once you start looking it can be overwhelming looking through all the options and you can end up with lots of options.
We went with one of their recommended installers and had a really good experience.

I went to Solar Sherpa and filled in all their questions accurately and their recommendation was to install a battery.

I then went to my PV supplier and found out how much I export to the grid. I then calculated that I would save £105 a year based on a battery of 95% efficiency. This means it would take over 20 years to make back the installation cost for a £2500 system and most systems are more than this. Payback time should never be more than 7 or 8 years so I would be wrong to pay for a battery

They say they “won’t call, promise” as they collect phone number but as soon as I provided my details I got 3 or 4 calls. I just wanted their guide to my emails and see some sort of comparison as any other comparison website does and get a rough idea. I don’t have time to talk to all these other companies. At least I got that email.

Edit: it looks like one long form, not two forms - one for guide and one for quotes. Most companies can also provide quotes for their services without calling and so the fact your quotes need a conversation should have been clarified for certain. I’ve been bombarded with calls since yesterday, each companies rang me 3-4 times and there are 4 of them for sure.

trying to trawl through the minefield of solar, came across solar sherpa, wow, what brilliant help, pointed me to recommended installers who contacted me and helped me with the systems i needed. brilliant!

Solar Sherpa provided clear independent guidance and recommended three reputable companies, all of which contacted me quickly and provided further information and quotes. I'm going ahead with one off the recommended companies and Solar Sherpa gave me the confidence that I had not been misled.

I found solar sherpas advice so helpful. It certainly gave me plenty to think about. Taking on board all of their knowledge was so good for me to make my final decision

I did not know what to look for with solar energy and how to find a good company. I came across Solar-Sherpa and by answering a few questions a was pointed in the direction of some relevant companies. One whom I went on to use and have received excellent service from that company.

I found the advice offered impartial and genuine. deciding on solar heating is by no means a simple matter. Caution must be taken on all stages - particularly to be sure of authentic fitters.

Informative and clear information that was helpful. Recommended three installers, one was very helpful and very close to securing our business but could not achieve our budget requirements.
