Extraordinary Customer Service
Shey Ramsey with Smith & Noble customer care was extraordinarily helpful. I had a small mechanical problem with one of the wood blinds we purchased and after a little troubleshooting the problem, she arranged to have a replacement sent.
Customer Service needs a Lesson
We very much like the product, although our installation had issues. The shutters arrived slightly damaged, 4 months after ordering. We paid to have Smith & Noble install, and assumed that any issues would be handled smoothly by S&N. Our salesperson documented the problems at installation. Apparently the installer never made the report. Now 11 months after our purchase, we finally get correspondence from S&N customer service. The agent at the other end of the email was persistent in trying to get details from us that we did not have. Our in home designer took all the notes and photos and the customer service person, was obstinate. I kept writing her (at least 6 emails) and cc'ing our in home designer, that I did not know the part number, until our in home designer finally chimed in. Still don't have the replacement shutter yet. So my distaste for S&N at this time is purely with the customer service. These are expensive products and as such we expect better quality and excellent customer service.
Excellent Customer Service
I worked today with Angela Balles on Repair Order 23020632. After a couple of unsuccessful encounters with other customer service agents, Angela was able to help me with clear instructions on how to diagnose the problem with my shades, and then was able to set up a warranty replacement. She knew the product well, and was clear in her communication.
Motorization Issue - resolved
I called customer service this morning (9/12/22) to try and resolve an issue I was having with my motorized solar shades. One of the three shades wasn't going up all the way. I spoke with Synthia Nugent and she was so kind and helpful. Since the shades are a bit older (4 years) she had to do some digging to troubleshoot the issue. In the end she got her colleague Sarah on the line who is an expert with motorization. Between the two of them my issue was resolved and then some. I was able to reset all my up and down stops to exactly where I wanted them! This is why I order all my window treatments from Smith and Noble - the excellent customer service throughout the "life" of the products.

I ordered a custom curtain for my master bedroom. My only request was to be totally black out. They installed it and there was sunlight coming out. I was upset but Jeannine was so awesome and fixed it for me.
Jeannine did a wonderful job looking for a solution, then she ordered the piece, managed and tracked the order, made the new installment appointment, and was on top of each stage.
I did love my curtain but what I love the most was her attention, support and customer care. I am so thankful with her.

I have ordered from Smith & Noble several times over the years and have always been very pleased with the product. I do my own measuring and the treatments have fit every time. On this occasion, I was having trouble completing my order online, as the system was incorrectly prompting me, so I had to call to complete my order. The first time I called, a woman answered who was borderline rude and unhelpful; I could actually hear noise in the background and she did nothing to make the call clearer. I hung up and tried to complete the order myself again, to no avail, so I called back. This time, I talked to designer John McKay, who was super helpful and a delight. He made recommendations that caused me to modify my order and improve the outcome. He was very efficient and polite.
