Horrible experience
I pre-ordered 4 of these, hoping they would keep mineral rings from building up on my toilets at the water line. I have 4 Toto toilets with special ceramic coating, so they stay pretty clean already, except for the ring. I also added on a year of the Shine Unlimited service to get replacement pods. It took a long time to receive the units, thanks to COVID impacts (understandable), but when I did, I installed the 4 unils slowly to see how they worked. The first issue I had was with setup. Setting up the units seemed to be very buggy and fraught with issues connecting to Wi-Fi. Even after connected to Wi-Fi, the units would often not sync well with the app. I.e., the status reported by the app clearly didn't match the status of the unit I could see. In terms of toilet cleaning, I honestly did not notice much of a difference with using just 1 pod. On the next cycle, I tried 3 pods, but also did not notice much of a difference. I then ran out of pods, and ordered more, but the order was never fulfilled. I then went back to the app to try again, but the app says "Coming Soon" for all of the options under Refresh. If I click "Support", I get a screen that says, "Contact Us" at top, but is otherwise blank. I tried sending email to support, and I get an automatic response back saying that someone will get back to me, but they never do. Thus far, these have been a complete waste of money and time.
Adding to my concern, I received a communication saying that Shine Bathroom, LLC, would be assuming all debts of Shine Bathroom, Inc. Having had a little experience myself with start-ups making products, I have heard that LLCs are preferred when making and selling physical products.
It just doesn’t do it for me
It just doesn’t do it for me. It is an expensive device that doesn’t work that well and that I feel like I constantly have to deal with to charge a battery, refill water, order cleaning pods, etc. Just use a brush and clean the damn toilet.

Nobody responded and I am not able to order pods. I would like to be able to either order the pods that I was promised in my subscription or receive the recipe for making my own solution.

Frustrated
I have never received a response from Shine to my repeated requests for assistance on missing orders. I did finally get half of the 1st order I placed back in January 2021. However an order for a set of cords has never been received. I did get notice that 2 orders from Shipmonk were to be delivered by UPS, however only one package arrived. My repeated requests for assistance with the missing package have gone unanswered. I have copies of all my transactions and online chat conversations. Telephone calls to Shine have never been answered, only direction to contact them through website. And for the record I have spent over $1000 on 4 complete units of Shine toilet cleaners, cleaning solution and brackets. I do feel I should have follow up on status of this missing $10 order!

I cant believe I got an email to review this product. But, basically, I was so excited, ordered TWO of the shines AND add ons, tried them, had my own opinions. The devices didnt hold a charge for nearly a month and ultimatley didnt clean my toilets as advertised. I saw no bad reviews until I tried to return the products within the 90 day window. Then I saw tons of customers with the similar complains and I turned to my bank to disput everything since Shine basically shut down and turned ALL OF THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE RECEIPTS TO "SOLVED" within 2 seconds of you sending anything. DO NOT BUY
Good not great
It does keep my toilet noticeably cleaner but support and the app seem way behind. There are a lot of app features that aren’t available yet that would greatly improve the customer experience. I waited literally over 6 months and it’s disappointing that it seems the product was rushed out without having everything available and sufficient support staff to return emails within a few days time. Good product but unfortunately everything else is holding it back.

Unfortunately, it doesn't really do what it purports to do. The toilet still needs cleaning.
I've never even bothered to open the box for the second unit I ordered.
Not for us
We really didn’t find that it worked that well. It may have given us a few more days before we had to clean the bowl with a brush and cleaner, but we still had to do it. The continuous expense of the cartridges wasn’t worth it. I reached out to Shine with my concerns but didn’t get a response. so my husband ended up just throwing it away. I was really hoping this would have worked.

This company has apparently gone out of business and bailed on subscriptions and orders.
While some of us recognized the risk just shutting the door and bailing is cowardly and obviously felonious theft.
Unscrupulous, deceitful and fraudulent.

Never received order, no customer service, company went under and so product is worthless
Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced.
This review has to do with the toilet paper program. I joined the program and was not satisfied with the quality. I’ve contacted customer service to cancel numerous times by email and their app, since they were not answering their phones for months, due to the holidays per there message when calling them. I’ve never heard back or received any acknowledgment of my inquiries. Furthermore, they quit sending me toilet paper as well. If someone at Shine reads this please get back to me.
