Media Units Have Ugly Joints If Over 2.3m

My first experience with Sharps was excellent, so I did not think twice about using them again. Unfortunately, I am writing this to warn future customers about a massive hidden design limitation on their larger products. If you order a media unit worktop longer than 2.3 metres, Sharps will join two separate pieces together, leaving a highly visible joint.I worked closely with their designer and paid approximately £7,000 for this installation (Order Reference: 5D3018). At no point during the design phase was this joint mentioned or shown on the CAD drawings. It only became apparent when the fitter began assembly, at which point I stopped all work.

Sharps are now attempting to evade accountability by pointing to a generic, fine-print disclaimer hidden on the CAD drawing regarding "maximum product dimensions" and "minimising visible joints."Hiding behind a vague, catch-all footnote is completely unacceptable for a premium brand.

Their excuse is that they do not make longer single pieces, but a seamless laminated worktop is widely available and cheap to in DIY budget retail chains, in lengths far exceeding 2.3m.

If Sharps choose not to stock or manufacture standard longer lengths, they have a duty to make this limitation explicitly clear to the customer during the design phase—not bury it in the small print. For a company that markets itself on premier, bespoke luxury, delivering cheap, flat-pack style joins is a total misrepresentation. Had I known about this limitation, I would never have spent £7,000 on this layout. All of their online marketing and paper brochures heavily hide these joints and show much larger units with completely seamless worktops. Check your design details meticulously before signing anything.

Really pleased with our gorgeous willow colour wardrobes. Chris Weeks our fitter has done an incredible job. The doors align perfectly, he has scribed them beautifully to our ceiling and gave us great information about all the features we have in the wardrobes. Very tidy chap and we are looking forward to having a place for everything.

I agree with everyone else here who highly commends the Sharps service from start to finish. The finished fitted wardrobes look excellent and have huge amounts of space in different dimensions and compartments. Shai Levy, the fitter, worked solidly for a day and a half and did a brilliant job, also leaving the room spotless on completion. Very happy.

Our salesman was very nice and good and designed the wardrobes efficiently and well and understood our needs.
The surveyor was good as were the delivery men. Our installation date was cancelled the day before and Sharps didn’t communicate with us at all about a new start date and we had to call and email them many times to get this. Then that day was delayed by a day too which was very annoying. The installation started last Friday and has been completed today after he worked very hard yesterday too. Rohit Racitalal has been great and we have nothing but praise for him and his work. The process started so well and it’s a real shame that the communication and installation delays have tainted our experience with Sharps.

Well finished furniture. Manuel, the joiner, did a good job and left everywhere clean and tidy.

I was very impressed by the quality of the fitting of the furniture shelving in our downstairs front bedroom. Mr Jack Breach did an excellent job and was very careful and thorough. I highly recommend Sharps.

Danny Wade who installed our wardrobe was absolutely brilliant, he really did an amazing job and very professional, can’t recommend him enough.

From start to finish, we thought Sharps were absolutely excellent, and can't recommend them enough. From Gordon, the planner, to Gary the surveyor, before the work even started, both were thoroughly professional and explained everything in fine detail, so we were always well informed.....and importantly, there was no hard sell, just good old fashioned professionalism. Then Iain Shaw 6663, the fitter, capped it all off with a really amazing build for the five and a half days he was with us to build the kitchen furniture and the living room furniture. We can't thank Iain enough for his dedication, work ethic and fine craftsmanship. Nothing was ever too much for Iain and his professionalism shone through the whole time he was doing both builds.Just leaves us to say, thank you again Gordon, Gary and Iain, we just love the furniture you designed and built for us!

Great quality and service from start to finish.

Michael Hancock is an excellent fitter. He has been polite, honest, friendly and professional throughout the whole process. He was always incredibly punctual, arriving just before 8am to get himself set up and ready to start. Unfortunately, our experience with Sharps overall has been very disappointing, particularly due to incorrect measurements being taken by the designer and surveyor. This meant Michael had to stop work and return to our property on numerous occasions while the issues were rectified. Despite this being no fault of his own, he remained patient, professional and helpful throughout, and we really appreciated him coming back each time. Michael is a credit to the company and is by far the best person we have dealt with throughout our experience with Sharps. It is just a shame that the rest of the service we received did not reflect the same level of professionalism and customer care that Michael provided.

Damon & Kristina came to fit our study today. Here bright & early. Worked like troopers all day. Excellent service. Sharps always good quality and would very highly recommend Damon & Kristina. Thank you both. 🤩

The designer was very helpful in explaining the process & Cost. The Surveyor was precise in explaining the process. Reason why no backs were used in the installation. There was no mention about side panels? This was rectified at a later date, when a side panel was inserted at no further cost. The emphasis was on the rear panel. It would have helped had he explained fully about the panels. The Installer was very professional in his work, doing an excellent job. Very clean & tidy. Very courteous in his manner. Left the room clean and tidy. Thank you, Neil.

The fitter Neil was excellent very good tidy and cleaned up well at the end. The whole team were excellent and I would recommend them to anyone who asks

Communication was clear and I knew every step of the way what to expect. Mike Morris the fitter was superb and informative. Friendly and professional gentleman who took time to explain and answer any questions throughout installation and ensured that design was as I wished. Honestly can’t praise him enough! Knows his job to a t!

I want to take this opportunity to say a truly heartfelt thank you to Aaron Baker for building my media wall.
In the line of work I do, I spend so much of my time giving to other people — giving my energy, my care, my time and, sometimes, every last bit of myself. It is something I find incredibly rewarding, but there are days when I come home feeling as though my vessel is completely empty.

That is why what Aaron has created for me means so much more than simply having a beautiful media wall.

He has created a space where I can come home, breathe, switch off and simply be. A space that feels peaceful, warm and beautiful. Somewhere I can sit down after a long day, put on my television or one of my documentaries, and finally give something back to myself.

Aaron Barker and Sharpe's didn't just build a media wall — they created a feeling. They understood the importance of creating a space that would mean something to me, and Aaron put his heart, creativity and artistry into making it truly special.

The finished media wall is absolutely phenomenal. Every time I look at it, I feel grateful that I chose to have this done and, more importantly, that I had someone like Aaron Baker bring my vision to life.

So, Aaron, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you for your talent, your care, your craftsmanship and for understanding the true gift of giving. You have created something that has become so much more than part of my home — it has become my place to come back to myself.

Jordan Burgess fitted our wardrobes and bedside units. He was hardworking, professional and they look excellent. Some quality issues with the furniture which I will be speaking to Sharps about, absolutely nothing to do with Jordan’s work.
He chased up missing parts for us and communicated prior to the job to let us know exact times and dates. Absolutely excellent would definitely use him again to do a job and would highly recommend.
